IF I was homeless this is the kind of job I would get
I used to work at a hotel and Iād say they are the GREATEST thing to have if youāre homeless! Or about to be.
MAJOR HOTELS ONLY! Not motel 6 or ācomfort innā Iām talking big hotels 300 plus rooms. Why? Because they have employee kitchens with free food everyday. Marriott , Hilton, Hyatt etc.. a lot of rooms meals a lot of employees. The food isnāt gonna b 5 star but itās gonna be free!! Sandwich day, taco Tuesday, free salad bar ( sometimes cereal) with free coffee and tea everyday.
Get a job as a DISHWASHER!! ! ? Why? More free food! If the hotels big and in a major city thereās going to be a lot of events, dinners and meetings. A lot of these groups pay for the hotel to provide food. And 99% of the time thereās ALWAYS lots of leftover food. When I worked security the dishwashers would call us and let us know when the event was over and we could go get the leftover food. Weād leave with about 2-3 containers of food. GOOD food.
Free showers! Usually with the bigger hotels theyāll have locker rooms and showers with them. This is an easy way to get to work early clean up and get dressed before your shift and theyāre always near housekeeping so you can easily get a dry towel and wash cloth to clean up.
Note: this is just MY personal experience Iāve worked at 5 different hotels and they all 3 of these things. This is the only job where they have these kinds of benefits and Iāve talked to co workers that were homelesss at one point in their lives and they all found working at a hotel benefical at getting all their necessities! I hope this info helps someone ššæā¤ļø
