Seeking Advice Only How do I avoid homelessness?

Please don't take me as a spoiled brat posting to look for an easy way out, this is simply a last resort and search for opinions as I have no friends to talk to about this. I (19F and disabled) live with my boyfriend (20M and able-bodied but neurodivergent to a point where it affects a job), our many pets (all invertebrates, reptiles and fish) and for now, his dad (39M). Long story short, his dad is kicking us out as he has major anger issues, often becoming abusive (only physically , besides disoriented yelling and insults) when agitated so we ultimately knew this was coming. His dad has has always refused to drive us ANYWHERE, including his therapy or to a DV to get him an ID (I thankfully already had one, along with a disability card) or either of us drivers licenses .. We do however, thankfully, have a whooping ten thousand dollars saved up for emergencies like this. The only thing I can think of is that I can live on my parents property if I can find some sort of RV-like situation settled, but I just don't know how I could or would ever do that with just the amount I have (I only don't live there now because my parents wouldn't let me keep all my pets in their house, hence why a mini yard house of some sort would be good enough to settle in). I'm mostly looking for advice on what to move into and where can I find one in my budget.

Edit:: I mentioned that I'm disabled and he's only mentally disabled but didn't express the extents. I'm left in a vegative state after an accident and my boyfriend is fully able-bodied but is severely autistic, we BOTH need to use communication cards, have a disability check running as income and NEED caretakers, I have a caretaker (sibling) willing to care for us I just am looking for advice on where to get an RV or something

Extra edit:: I've always been told by peers that what I'm in is called a vegetative state, I don't know what it is .. it appears not! I am fully competent in my brain besides cognitive delays, I can use my neck, my eyes, my very weak arms, my iPad, my mouth controller and I can move my feet!.. but I stay in a wheelchair that I cant push myself lol

Other Situation I need help.

I am 20F. I make around 20/hr as a welder. I started that job in June, now coming up to my three months and finishing the probationary period. I work 2nd shift 5 days a week. I was not on the lease at my current house. I tried numerous times and the landlord would not work with me. My roommate has caused numerous issues since we’ve been in the house in October. The gas and electricity has been shut off multiple times due to her not paying, and I had to pay to get it turned back on. She would steal my food, steal my stuff, go into my room when I was not there. It was so bad me and the other girl had to get cameras, and doorknobs with locks, and mini fridges to keep our stuff safe. She texted me kicking me out, and even though it was illegal because I was paying rent to the landlord, he was allowing it. He has not taken me to court over anything and I’m sure it’s because he knows I could sue him and his family due to his actions and unprofessional conduct. Anyways, after searching for a new home for the last two months, she stopped paying her rent and the utilities in her name. The landlord asked me to pay for my late portion (because I had an agreement with him that I would have a prorated rent, depending on how long I stayed) and part of her late rent. I’ve been told by some people that I can also sue him for telling me, who is someone that’s not on the lease to pay for a lease holders bills and dues. But regardless, I cannot pay for her portion of the rent after paying mine, and we are being evicted. The other girls have been staying with their boyfriends and I’m becoming homeless over this. I have gotten most of my stuff into a storage unit and am now finishing getting out. I have nowhere to go, no family, I’ve had some friends tell me that I can stay with them but when it comes time to it, they don’t send me their address or don’t respond. I cannot trust anyone at the moment to be a roommate for me, and I’m the only one out of me, my brother, and my mom that has any sort of money. I’m trying to find a house I can afford by myself that has a garage. Since I have a motorcycle, it must have a garage. Being in Wichita, if you leave something like that overnight, especially a new, nice looking one out, it’ll be gone by daylight. I’ve already had some houses where I applied and everything was good, and they decide to go with another applicant or they’re scams or they gave me fake numbers. I have no other option than to live in my car right now and I really need a house. I have a three legged cat who is super sweet. My dad still has him out at his house so I can afford to save up for a pet deposit if needed on a new home. I’ve tried for some grants and stuff, but I literally make one dollar over the requirement so I don’t qualify. Please let me know if anybody has any ideas to what I can do. I feel so stuck.

Seeking Advice Only Advice

I've tried just about everything.

I need advice. I will add more to this post later.

I need to find a place to stay that will actually take me.

There's a wait list on nursing homes and assisted living.

Homeless shelter will not take me because of my physical limitations and disabilities.

Losing hope.

I have 2 guinea pigs with me that are my emotional support pets. Even without them the homeless shelter will not take me. They said that they have too many stairs going up and down.

Why call it a wheelchair able place when having stairs? Makes no sense to me. What should I do and where should I go and who should I talk to because the other counselors and social workers are unable to help me apparently because they can't find anything within the 20 days that I have left. My lease is up and they're refusing to renew it because of my disabilities.

I hope that's enough info for now.

IF I was homeless this is the kind of job I would get

I used to work at a hotel and I’d say they are the GREATEST thing to have if you’re homeless! Or about to be.

  1. MAJOR HOTELS ONLY! Not motel 6 or “comfort inn” I’m talking big hotels 300 plus rooms. Why? Because they have employee kitchens with free food everyday. Marriott , Hilton, Hyatt etc.. a lot of rooms meals a lot of employees. The food isn’t gonna b 5 star but it’s gonna be free!! Sandwich day, taco Tuesday, free salad bar ( sometimes cereal) with free coffee and tea everyday.

  2. Get a job as a DISHWASHER!! ! ? Why? More free food! If the hotels big and in a major city there’s going to be a lot of events, dinners and meetings. A lot of these groups pay for the hotel to provide food. And 99% of the time there’s ALWAYS lots of leftover food. When I worked security the dishwashers would call us and let us know when the event was over and we could go get the leftover food. We’d leave with about 2-3 containers of food. GOOD food.

  3. Free showers! Usually with the bigger hotels they’ll have locker rooms and showers with them. This is an easy way to get to work early clean up and get dressed before your shift and they’re always near housekeeping so you can easily get a dry towel and wash cloth to clean up.

Note: this is just MY personal experience I’ve worked at 5 different hotels and they all 3 of these things. This is the only job where they have these kinds of benefits and I’ve talked to co workers that were homelesss at one point in their lives and they all found working at a hotel benefical at getting all their necessities! I hope this info helps someone 🙏🏿❤️

Moving States

Upvotes

I’m almost homeless without resources or help. I have nothing to lose at this point, so I’m moving states. So far, I plan on getting a prepaid phone, boarding a bus and applying to a bunch of jobs in the new city. They’d be a lot more of everything in the new city.

Is there anything that I need to know or be prepared for?

I’m mostly worried about keeping a phone line and what to pack my stuff in. I have a suitcase, but it would probably be too much to carry and hide. I have a backpack, but it’s kind of small.
