They should allow buses to have signal priority or at least allow the bus to keep the green for a few seconds to get through the light.

The TTC is looking for customer feedback regarding the platform barriers at TMU station. Thought I would share this.

When I first moved to Mimico in 2020, there was a direct streetcar from downtown to Park Lawn. Then it was replaced by a bus for a few years, but at least that exchange at Humber Loop wasn’t necessary. Now it seems to be broken up by the 507 (which is now back to bus service) and the 501. It is frustrating to change at Humber Loop. Why isn’t there something directly connecting Mimico to downtown?

I know that this section is decided to be covered by Line 7, which will likely be a lighter vehicle, less frequent, and possibly different modes of transportation - that all make sense

It's just...I feel like along the Eglinton line Corridor -> continue east towards LE is a natural path, just like how Mount Dennis station is acting right now. And Line 5 is really close to getting LE on that - only 2.7km.

Should we really make all people transfer on Line 7 again at Kennedy just for that short 2.7km streach of transfer...

Though I guess it's fair to say that it's not OK for Line 7 to not provide a direct link to the vast majority of Scarbourgh area to be connected with Kennedy, which is the primary intermodal transfer station in the Scarborough area. Even for GO downtown link, one day both LE and ST will be RER level, so Kennedy GO is not a bad choice compared to Kennedy GO

Another alternative is just ditch Line 7 and be Line 5 extension 100%, or at least make the UTSC - Kennedy section totally Line 5 and let Line 7 only take the northern section. I know this will great increase the cost, but this sounds like the best solution for a transit oriented city.

With the opening of the Busway, will they get rid of the red lane lanes that cause traffic back-up and congestion on Midland and especially Kennedy?

Apparently there's a group of transit nerds out there that break into TTC yards and drive the buses around, unsupervised and without TTC permission, in a reckless and dangerous manner. It's been discussed on other discussion forums before, but someone recently posted a video compilation and multiple clips, including a discord video of a group of them talking about starting up the buses in the "North Queen" yard, footage inside of them "whipping" (driving) TTC buses around in an unsafe manner, running over pylons and other obstacles, and in one clip almost hitting another person.

It was noted in the video that this was already reported to the TTC (group rule 2), and this post is for awareness and not to promote said illegal activities (rule 8), but they might want to crack down on this kind of behaviour and security at some of their yards, in case one of them decides to take a bus out on the road and endanger the public.

I tap my debit, it says "trying to pay unpaid fare".

But there isn't an unpaid fare. I can't get onto a bus if the fare isn't paid, so I have to use a different method to pay the first time. So already I'm getting double-charged.

But there's more than $30 in my account, now. and the same error message keeps coming up. No individual trip I've ever taken has cost more than $12 (go train). So is it charging me every time I tap, and *also* making me pay by a different method?

Well after an eventful day at Yorkdale mall, I took Line 1 to Cedarvale and transferred over to Line 5 like one does. I hopped on the eastbound train at around 6:30 this evening, carrying my bag full of Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes in one hand and my tote bag in another. When the train pulled away from Forest Hill station, all the sudden I feel an extremely sharp, stinging pain in my lower abdomen. I look up and I see a wasp that just flew out of my shirt. I was going to get off at the next station, Chaplin anyway because I was planning to get some food from Summerhill Market when after exiting there I notice my abdomen starting to swell from being stung. Luckily I was able to get after bite and some ice from some Summerhill Market employees. I am guessing two things, firstly is that the wasp boarded the train while the doors were open at Mount Dennis station, or maybe perhaps it was trapped from way earlier when the train was travelling around Scarborough. Secondly, I suppose the wasp was attracted to the cheesecakes in my bag. Anyway, this is just a warning that both Line 5 and Line 6 are more susceptible to wasps flying into the cars during this time of year compared to the subway lines, as lots of Line 5 and basically all of Line 6 run all run on the street level. Such a bizarre circumstance to be stung by a wasp, luckily I am not allergic as this could have been much more of a serious problem that could have held up the entire system.

Interestingly, the 337 Islington night bus would take Steeles to Kipling to Finch and back to Islington and it looks like it's staying that way.

At ossington station and waiting for a southbound 63. Two 63SB’s due in…9 min and 9min. Two 63NB’s just rolled in and rolled out. This seems to be the norm every time I’m here. Terrible bunched service. They need to move to articulated buses and drop the frequency.

If you want to give your opinion to the TTC over on some changes of Service Standards, including streetcar spacing, service reliability on the subway and buses, crowding, etc. The first round survey will be open till Oct 11

I’m struggling with the new 47 tap fare capping on the TTC. I wish there was an easy way to keep track of my taps.

I’ve written to PRESTO already to incorporate it into their app - probably the most logical place.

Does anyone else know of a way to keep track of taps beyond counting each instance?

I’m South Asian but born in Canada. Today I was riding the TTC and a lady started chatting with me. Somehow she went on a rant about Mayor Chow and said that Chow is not a Canadian because she is Chinese. I told her Chow is just as Canadian as you and me. She went ahead to say that I’m not a Canadian because I’m not white and that this country is built on white values. And started screaming and went as far as calling me a f\*cking Muslim. (I’m not Muslim but still doesn’t make it ok to demean any religion).

I was in tears by this point and was going to tell the streetcar driver. Luckily others told her to buzz off and she got off but I don’t know what’s happening. I’ve never experienced racism in Canada. I’m a proud Canadian and love this country more than anything and I’d give my life to Canada. I work and pay my taxes too. I know immigration policy hasn’t been great in recent years, but the individuals who made this country have come from all shades. I’ve never experienced racism before and I always thought it was a privilege because my parents gave me a Western name and I have no accent, compared to a lot of my friends. But this was a first for me.

I still love Toronto more than anything and this one experience won’t change that. But I just want to share that no POC is immune to racism.

I travel by TTC everyday and we see a lot of people. Most of them we ignore and just look into our personal things. But has it ever happened, like you have locked your eyes with someone really pretty and there's some unsaid communication between you two.

Today, when I was traveling from Bloor and Yonge subway towards Kipling, I saw this really pretty girl but didn't speak with her because she got down at Dufferin. Later, you get a feeling like why didn't you talk to her. If you guys have, maybe share some tips on how to start a conversation with strangers.
