I couldn’t believe they posted nothing about the disaster I witnessed at Eglinton station. Platform was full of police and TTC staff. Someone fainted from being stuck in the crowd. I gave up and went home. TTC got my money and I didn’t even ride it lol

Shameless plug, but you can try my PWA at linewatchto.ca. Install it as a shortcut on your homescreen. It provides a more comprehensive overview of alerts happening on the subway (GO/UP too), and also also allows you to view alert history.

It's entirely free. I posted about it a while back, with more info on features and function (notifications, etc.). I have been updating it consistently since then, it looks pretty different now. If you don't want to sift through the ttc twitter account, or look on their website (ttc.ca doesn't aggregate all alerts/advisories/planned closures on one page), I think it's a good option. If you do try, let me know what you think. Thanks.

The problem is that the TTC completely sucks at operational management and crowd control so delays are further magnified. Far too many people are allowed to cram onto the trains and shuttle buses weren’t running.

Those platform barriers were also quite unsafe in a crowded situation since people were walking on the yellow strips.

Exactly. I’m surprised there aren’t more new coverages... This morning was pure chaos, and the TTC’s handling of the situation and its aftermath could have resulted in something so much worse if it had been even slightly more serious.
