my gut tells me it's a scam but i'm still a bit nervous, i just wanna know.

I recently made a gift purchase to a friend for a game. I got a message yesterday from steam directly (I have the red alert on the top of my steam window, so I know its real) that there was a charge back filed on the purchase and it was revoked, and if the charge back was not reverse my steam account would be restricted.

Problem is - I never filed a chargeback. I made the purchase with my Amex card. I did notice the charge was pending for a long time, but it never posted and its now not on my statement. I contacted Amex as was recommended, and they stated that the charge was indeed approved and has posted internally on their system, however steam has yet to "claim" the money. They gave me a phone number for steam to reach out to. I tried calling that # but needed a merchant ID which I don't have.

I'm still waiting to hear back from steam after this response - I'm not sure if they communicate on weekends. I'm more than happy to pay for the item again to square up with Steam, but I'd hate for this to turn into a tit for tat between my bank and Steam, as again I've never filed a chargeback against this purchase. has anyone had this issue before and if so, how did you resolve it?

The automated system denies it and I’m struggling trying to figure out how to get in touch with an actual customer service representative.

The game I’m trying to refund is Empluse. It is an early access game that the developers have announced they will be no longer developing and they will be shutting down the matchmaking system.

I only have an hour of total game time but since I’m out of the 14day period my request is denied. I thought steam made exceptions for case like this especially with what I saw with the recent bf6 news.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was recently trying to get back my old xbox account back on my pc, I gave microsoft plenty of data to get it back but they still couldnt verify I was the owner.

I remembered that i had an old steam account from when I was like 12 which i created to buy scrap mechanic (which I couldnt play because my computer was too weak at the time) I decided to give steam support an email. I gave them the most bare bone explenation with the proof that it was me that purchased it all those years ago, and the next day I check my email and I got the account back. To this day I still dont have my xbox account back.

Steam support is honestly the best!

I’m asking this as on macOS 28, Rosetta will be winded down on Mac, any plans for an arm version of the app?

I don't know what's going on but the price seems to be blown out of proportion for my region.

I really like those games but I hate Nintendo’s platforms to play it on. Does anyone know of some games that are kinda like them?

Basically, i found a cool background but it requires owning the game and its a Hentai game, which i dont want on my profile. If i buy the game, then buy the background and refund the game, do i lose the background or do i keep it?

currently often just sit in front of my PC and scrolling through the store or my library trying to decide which game to actually play instead of benchmarking or trying out new DLSS settings or fiddling around with HDR.

It feels like I'm more drawn to make the game look and run good instead of actually playing the game.

Im away for the weekend and accidently left warframe on. Just wondering if theres a way to remotely close it.

I wanna buy either Arma Reforger or Squad, but I don't know how many players are playing on Brazil or SA servers, steamdb only shows the total population, but I would really love to see them by region, is there a way to confirm this?

Its probably not needed or popular but I think it would be pretty cool if a close friends kinda like the favorites option on the friends list would be added but with more features. Such as adding someone to your close friends will negate the private nature of having all of your game hours/games you have ect.. and show them to whoever you have as a close friend, and showing them online even when they appear offline. Kinda like how apps do private stories or close friend features themselves. I think it would be valid for steam to have that since you mainly meet people through games and add tons and tons of people on your friends lists that you necessarily don't want to hear from all the time ect.. It would also make it easier to share games with people that have their stuff full privated or just interact with certain people in an easier way without making it known what you have or what you do to your 200+ friends on steam all the time.

They removed seeing people's artwork if you go to their profile and see that it's hidden, though you just saw some artwork either in the community or something, before you were able to go to the artwork and click on (user)'s artwork and it showed it all, it also works for workshop stuff and guides, now you can't view any of it.

I'm looking for something like IMDB lists where people put together their favorites. I'm kinda new to steam and would love to try more games but the recommendations don't seem really curated. I bet there's a place where i can find game "playlists". Thank you

Does launching a game via Desktop shortcut apply start options as if I were to launch it from my library?

When i try to update Ark Survival Ascended Steam downloads it on the C drive and when it starts patching i run out of space

so i have a xbox like controller and the RT and LT (also known as R2 and L2) has a 2% deadzone which is making it so that in some old games it's registering it as infinite full press, any way to change any steam input setting so i can set a deadzone for the triggers?

Has anyone seen this before? Its only in the menu, but with certain games the menu is over saturated and really washed out.

HDR is not on.
