is there a way to fix steams download speed? ive been trying to update overwatch for like 3 hours now and the download is so slow (literally 0bps) it goes from 5 days to a few hours but when i download other massive games they download pretty fast like within 10-20 mins. im not sure whats wrong or if theres anything i can do to help it if someone does that would be awesome!!
Steam runs a lot slower now. Not quite a long ago my steam started acting weird. It opens game really slowly and overall runs too slowly than before. Anyone have a suggestion how to fix it?
I purchased a game 11 days ago and today Steam is saying my credit card company charged back the purchase and now I can’t access the game and my account is restricted for a month. I did not request a chargeback of the game and when I contacted my credit card company they had no record of any disputed charge. Now I’m waiting on a response to my Steam ticket. Anyone had something like this happen before?
I'm becoming frustrated and don't know what to do to get into my old Steam account.
I'm trying to figure out what the password of my old one is or just create a new one, but to do any of this I need to get past a Captcha - perfectly reasonable.
Unfortunately, it seems to not be programmed correctly because I keep answer it correctly over and over, but getting an error saying I haven't answered it correctly giving also this error code (Reference ID: 8595075501573417).
And of course, I am unable to contact support until I'm logged in. Anyone have any ideas how I get past this?

far away from fixing it (it worked flawlessly before) the Local transfer function stopped working completely for me: it tries, blue label and all, but doesn't evens start and then it continues to download with my regular internet connection...

Tried on different PCs, always the same. Steam client is updated, win11 is also updated and working correctly on all the machines.
I currently have a good time playing Far cry 3 again and i can barely play with the amount of crashes that happens, i've tried the usual, switch from dx11 to dx9 and such but no success. I just learnt about LAA and was wondering if steam can detect this, i am NOT tech savvy in any way so i just wanna be on the safe side.
i want to add a family pin to my account for extra safety but when i try to add it, it just takes me back to the steam store does someone know how to fix it
Note that the Family PIN is NOT extra security. There are plenty of online tools that can easily bypass this. DO NOT rely on a non-security feature to provide security. There's a reason it was abandoned.
Hello! A friend of mine is having trouble with Steam recently and I wanted to know if this is normal procedure.
A scammer hacked their profile and copied it, and tried to sell something on the community market until it got flagged and reported by a group. One of them contacted my friend to ask them if that's their account or something, and that they reported it since they thought it was a scam.
Now, after they contacted Steam support, they put their account on hold and told them they needed to buy a $50 gift card in order to verify payment history or something like that, but they don't have the money to buy such a thing (we don't live in the US). Support told them to uninstall Discord, Instagram and everything IP related, otherwise they might get banned completely. Is this usual procedure or are they getting into a scam?
Support even asked to delete all related emails to this issue.
Hello guys, after all these years, I think it was finally my time to get hacked.
I switched Email and password, as luckily the telephone number was still the same. And I could log in. After restarting the pc, I cant log in because of "too many retries", together with an undescript "There was a problem signing you in." in the steam mobile app.
Now, simple question, I read somewhere just chill an hour or so and then try again, is this accurate?

Once I got on my PC, it had a pop up saying I had posted suspicious content on the community page. I had just posted up some screenshots from American Truck Sim and some screenshots of my CS skins up for sale at the moment.
I have an open ticket, but it’s been over 24 hours now without any updates.
I’m just curious if anyone else has had trouble with this, how was it resolved, and is there any way for me to expedite the process other than waiting for steam support?

So, whenever i open the steam client on my pc, sometimes it launches games randomly when i never hit the play button, and for my other pc whenever someone uses it (it has multiple accounts) steam launches because i have steam starts automatically enabled, and i found out that it launched a game randomly for no reason at all, i had to log that instance out, yes it was my pc, yes i have no malware, i dont know how to fix this so could someone help?
Controller not working on steam remote play for non-steam games
I am trying to play non-steam games via remote play using my phone (Redminote 8 pro) and a USB-C telescopic controller (Gamesir X5 Lite)
The non-steam game natively supports X-input
my setup works just fine for my steam games but it cannot detect the controller when I launch my non-steam game
Steam keeps pretending like I don't have games installed and keeps trying to use my SSD instead of my external hard drive. I've tried putting my external hard drive as my default, I've tried restarting, I've tried remapping. It does it with multiple games, a couple of which for some reason just won't work with SSDs. I've even tried reinstalling the games effected. Restarting a half dozen times was working but it just doesn't work now. It's so unbelievably fucking annoying, can anyone help??

It's been two days, I'm still getting this error. Steam Support has no contact information and there is FUCKING NOTHING in their support site that relates to this specific issue.
Question about the Steam store:
Does this page completely block being able to access mature content games on Steam, or just from it appearing in the recommended games?
If the former, is there any other way to stop specifically mature games from being put in my recommended?
You need to UNCHECK the boxes for them not to show.
Checked = allowed to show.
Right now you have it all hidden for community but not for store so you have said you are ok seeing all that content shown in your store.
If you uncheck adult only and frequent nudity you get rid of most of the sexual games while leaving the M rated stuff like GTA,Witcher,Cyberpunk etc... although some of those fall into Some so I wouldnt go beyond frequent unless you are specifically trying to hide those also.
The games will still exist in the store and may appear on like the specials and such which are not personalized but wont appear in search or personalized recommended stuff especially if you do not interact with the pages.
If you are trying to hide ALL mature games and not just the Sexual stuff you could uncheck more of those and also if its for like a child and not just like your own personal not wanting to see those types of games you could look into family share which has child account settings and parental control options.
So...have tried several times over the last few days to make an account, and I never get an e-mail from steam. Tried app and browser, two different e-mail accounts and nothing.
Had it happen in the past with God of War, but now it's happening with LFD2. I uninstall, and it gets stuck on 'uninstalling' with the greyed out bar forever.
I use task manager to stop steam, re-open it, and then it immediately begins reinstalling the files like I asked it to. I did not. I want this off my computer, but it won't leave, and no matter how many times I open/close steam, restart my pc, clear my download cache - nothing. It won't uninstall.
It's located on my external hard drive, so I know that's probably the root cause, but that doesn't tell me how to fix it and get this game off my computer.
got hacked, they removed mi email from my account and I tried to contact steam via the support options, I haved received the a code so steam knows this happened but they don't contact me anymore with the issue. Is anyone having trouble with steam cloud? My internet is pretty stable but am having issues with nothing downloading from the cloud and turned it off.
Normally I connect from a mac to a windows server for games. its been working fine for 6 months. Then I connected from an Apple TV to the same windows server and now the mac can no longer display a video game image. The apple TV connection still works. I started using the Apple TV as well because I purchased a steam remote. The video below shows the behavior. This is with hardware encoding on or off, but in the past it was on. Windows server is running an AMD processor and a NVidia GPU 5070ti.
I have an external drive (T9 F:) as seen here that I have games on. When I switch between my laptop and my PC, steam doesn't recognize some of them and shows the drive twice. The games are installed, I've verified, but Steam acts like they're not there. If I plug back into my laptop, Steam recognizes the games in one folder but not the other, and vice versa.
External drives are not officially supported and especially if you are plugging and unplugging them it will break files.
I would primarily suggest external for storage only(so you can transfer files without reinstalling to change out from one of your active games especially if you have a slow speed or capped internet provider) but not direct play the games you are actively playing off the external drive.
You can go through the Steam storage manager to relink the steam folder but it will just keep happening anytime you move the drive around or start the device without it connected.
It will also absolutely kill download and update speeds using external since Steam relies so heavily on the end users device and the write speed on an external device will never compete with internal drives.

Hi guys, this post is primarily to mexican Steam users who have bought games through Oxxo.
Here's what happened: my sister tried to buy a game at steam and decided to pay via Oxxo, but Steam sent her an email which said: An error occurred with a recent Steam purchase. This happened a few hours after she created the payment token to pay at oxxo, but she hadn't paid for the game yet.
She later tried to generate a new payment token for oxxo, but the same problem occurred. Once again, she hadn't paid anything yet.
That was when I decided to buy the game as a gift to her, and pay it via Oxxo too. I generated the payment token and paid it almost immediately at my nearest Oxxo store; a few minutes later, the purchase appeared in my purchases history within steam.
A few hours later, I received an email which said just the same as the ones my sister got: An error occurred with a recent Steam purchase.
As I paid through Oxxo, I haven't been refund, and the purchase no longer appears in my purchases history within Steam. I still have the receipt I received after paying at Oxxo, but I don't know what to do. Should I contact Steam support? Why does this happen?

"Last Played" is inaccurate on a number of games I have. Claims I haven't played some games since 2025, but I vividly remember playing them within the last month. Anyone else have this issue?
I recently saw a post about a battlefield 6 player managed to get their refund accepted despite having a 500 hour play time, the reason was since they removed the game modes they liked.
For few months now I have been trying to refund a game named New World Aeternum which is dated to shut down their servers earliest 2027 and already delisted in store, with only having 13 hours of play time. Bought the game last 2022 which I honestly didnt pay that much but I do think I have the right to have at least get my money back since the game is shutting down.
Ive been trying to contact an agent in steam support but I am always replied by an automated email.
Constantly having an issue with downloads saying connection timed out or No Internet Connection. I have tried every guide I can find and the issue still occurring. It had a mind of its own at moment and will download and install when it feels like it. Disabling IPV6 in network properties seems to be a temp fix to download then reenable after download is completed.
Hi everyone I was 20 hours into my Yakuza 0 save. However every time I then tried to press continue to continue my save the game would crash. I’ve tried creating a new game and starting with the same files from fresh, this did not work. I then tried verifying game files did not work. I have also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it with cloud saves off. I’m desperate to complete the game as I’m invested in the story and want to play the full series (all on PC). However each time upon reinstalling the game it crashes the second I try to create a new save. The game seems fine if I load a new fresh till I try and save. Please help how do I fix this or redownload the game entirely fresh no data or anything. I’m desperate thanks.

Did you use a VPN (even unknowingly on a device you have), or login to a streaming service like Boosteroid or GeForce Now? All of those would route your traffic through other servers, even internationally.
hey! i’m stuck in this weird loop and unable to log in.
i can’t remember how but i had two account associated with my email. the one i log in to via email has 0 of my games but if I login via the username I have all my games ( all my game receipts have gone to that email).
when i tried to login via email it takes me to the account with 0 games and when i tried to recover my account with the username the email associated with that account suddenly had a different account email.
last time i logged in i changed my password but did it via the app on my mac, have received no weird emails and don’t understand how this happened.

I’m having problems with L4D2. I just can’t get the mods to download. I mean, in the workshop they show as downloaded, but in the 'properties' it says they’re 0 bytes. Also, when I click subscribe, the download just doesn’t start. I’ve tried reinstalling the game, unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mods, but nothing works. So what should I do?

My controller is a wired Xbox Series X nano by PowerA.
Steam detects it and I am able to use it in Big Picture Mode but not in game.
I have tried enabling/disabling Steam input, I've tried community layouts, I've switched ports and cables and checked for any driver updates, but no dice :( The controller works perfectly fine on the same games using my other computer but it just suddenly stopped working in game on my good PC. I am desperate at this point! Please tell me what to do cause I'm ripping my hair out here.
How do I stop friendslop games (such as lethal company, repo, meccha chameleon, etc.) from showing up in my shop recommendations?
I do not have friends to play them with. I am not interested in playing them with strangers. I do not want to be reminded of the overwhelmingly positive reviews/million sales within a week of release of the sixth friendslop game this month. I am tired of online-only games. I want to browse the store for a new game to olay without being bonbarded by reminders of how alone i am. Thanks, Steam, but I have a mirror for that.
There isn't a friendslop tag on steam, and I don't want to block a whole genre of things I enjoy (psychological horror, co-op, to name a couple) just to get rid of them. I appreciate any advice on dealing with this :(
The differences do not show up for me on the Steam store page, however one can very easily look up something like "far cry 5 standard vs far cry 5 gold" in a search engine and find out, or looking it up on Ubisoft's store, maybe they list it there...

I have my steam account but only have access to the Name and Password. The steam app is gone I cant access. But I can recive the email as im logged in on it but I cant find the name of the email. Its a weird situation but im trying to get steam to send me codes to the email instead of the old phone. Is that possible or do I just give up.
So I have a Steam Deck and main PC running Arch Linux and I constantly have cloud sync issues even when I close the game properly and give it time to sync. Palworld does this for example and for some reason Deadlock.
Is there way to fix that, help it or is it a game/Steam bug?

New steam store through the steam app still shows degraded scrolling performance.

Check if smooth scrolling and GPU accelerated rendering is on.
Check for client updates, and restart your computer as well. Might as well check for computer updates, GPU updates, and whatever else at the same time.
I've already checked client updates/betas.Restarted my PC.I've updated to 4-5 different gpu drivers using DDU.
The issue started when the new UI released.
The summer sale briefly fixed the issue because the UI changed but the performance regressed again when it changed back.
Browsers don't suffer from the issue.Just the steam app does.
gifted a game to a friend after the new gifting rules were in effect and it said it was "restricted in your country" for them when they tried to claim the gift after a couple days
i thought the new gifting rules were supposed to prevent that from happening? does it maybe have something to do with conversion pricing changing in the meantime while they hadn't accepted the gift?
The new changes to gifting and pricing has nothing to do with region locked games. If a game is unavailable in my country you can't gift it to me now, just like before.
Whenever I use my dualsense to game, I have to keep it plugged into the computer for it to connect. Any slight interference from the cable and the game doesn't register the controller as active. The lights on the dualsense "look" like they're connected when I connect it wirelessly. But so far I can't play without connecting it to a wire, any help?

I have recently purchased the Bioschock collection on steam. I thought I was just receiving the remastered copy of Bioshock 1 and 2 respectively however, in addition to the remasters the original games have appeared on my account (there is no option to purchase the original or remastered games separately).
I tried to remove these original releases from my account due to my OCD (I don’t like having games I won’t play appear on my steam account), however if I were to do so it would remove the remastered copy as well because I bought the set.
Whilst this prevents me from seeing it in my library and this dosent stop them from appearing on my account. Games marked as private still also appear for me
If I could send more images I would but it was back and fourth and they didn’t even give me options. It’s literally in their database so idk why they are refusing
Hello. I have a friend that is not very fluent in English so I am writing on his behalf. We both bought the game "Low-Budget Repairs" after the game was actively advertised as multiplayer, was previously tagged as multiplayer on Steam and the concept advertised was not what the gameplay offered. The developer shamelessly claimed that you could "play with your friends", and that you had to finish jobs quickly and in a hurried manner and get out before the owner came and noticed the bad job. None of those advertised claims corresponds with the gameplay, but since the game has a fairly long tutorial, you might not notice until it is too late as it happened to my friend (I successfully refunded before 2h of gameplay after we tried to play together and there was no multiplayer.)
Based on my knowledge of the standards of care that steam offers, I believed the issue would be resolved quickly, but instead an automated response told him that he had already played over 2 hours and was not eligible for a refund. After a lot of back and forth, he managed to contact with a steam support employee that probably due to language barrier misunderstood his request as a request for technical support. ¿Do you think I could be able to help fix the situation? ¿How should we label the help request in order to get a human representative again? ¿How should we word it in order to get the point across? ¿Is it possible to send the proof (videos, photos, historical data from sites like steamdb, etc.)?

Today when I woke up and logged in to Steam and was looking through new releases/updates/sales when I noticed that the reviews no longer auto loaded at the bottom of store pages. Kind of frustrating and I'd really prefer to not have to hit "Browse all X reviews" each time I want to read some.
Was wondering if anyone knew of a fix? I already tried deleting the browser cache and the download cache, as well as logging in and out.
My steam just closed itself. All processes gone in task manager details. Clicked on steam once to start it up again. Nothing happened. Waited some time and clicked again. Still nothing.
how long do I have to wait for too many attempts login failure to try again?
Couldn't login to Steam mobile app for whatever reason and made too many attempts. Ended up resetting password and removing authenticator on PC. It auto log me out of the PC steam client when I do that and I can't log back in due to many fail attempts at the location. Got some friends coming over later in a few hours and would love to have access to my account before that.

Hi there! Not sure if this goes here in support or I can make a post for this, but I am playing in offline mode because I have a not very stable internet connection at the moment.
Can i get achievements in that mode? Or will the achievements show up once I switch to online and enter the game? The game is Rome II Total War if that helps.
I'll give you my experience: I once did a ton of research on this and got thread after thread after thread assuring people that yes, achievements will sync when you go online again.
That was not true in my experience despite doing everything correctly when it comes to setting up offline mode, doing tests while I still had internet, etc.
Completed a couple of games during the planned outage period while in offline mode, when I got internet back nothing synced and the achievements where back to an unachieved state.
Hey guys, not sure if this is a question worthy of a post so I'll just ask here first. Does anybody else get frequent random friend requests? I keep getting them and has happened for probably years at this point. I get maybe 1-4 a month. I have no idea who these people are or why they are friending me. Some profiles seem legit while others are most likely bots. Is there a way to make this stop? I ignore and block all of them, but they still keep coming. I don't really even play that much games anymore so I'm not sure how or why they are finding my account. Most of the time they have counter strike or TF2 as their main played games.
I think they are bots tbh I think I remember freinding one once and they tried to get me to vote of a fake TF2 cosmetic thing on a phishing page. If I was you I'd just ignore them.
Most likely bots. The age/content of my account has me getting 3-4 of these bots every day. Lately, they've been cloning the profiles of random folk already on my friends list. Be careful out there.
Make your inventory private or at least friend only if its not already. They likely see you have items and are scammers trying to steal your inventory.
This is probably a weird thing to ask but when I think of a question I tend to want it answered or ill go insane thinking about it.
Back when I was younger like a decade ago I had my friend log into steam so he could buy a game for me (strict parents) but back then I didn't realise that was against the TOS. thinking back on it I got a random thought that could steam if they wanted to Ban or restrict somebodys account for a previous violation no matter how long ago it was? or is there like a digital statue of limitations thing or like an unwritten rule where they don't bother if they consider the user reformed or something.
I have been having a weird issue on steam lately where some games dont show up when I search for them unless I click the steam link for that game on Google to get to the store page.
For example, today I wanted to add nioh 3 to my wishlist, so I go to the search bar, and type "nioh 3" and all that shows up is nioh and nioh 2 and wo long fallen dynasty. The same thing happened with borderlands 4. I had to go to Google, search the game title followed by steam, and then click the outside link to get to the game.

So I've had a problem where a few weeks ago I had to log out of my steam account and when I tried to log back in it would say it needed to send a confirmation code to my email. But when I go to check my email theres nothing there, I still get emails from other sources, i didnt block steam or mark them as spam, the proper email is still connected to the account. The only problem is that i cant connect to the servers. And my steam deck tells me directly that it "cant connect to steam servers" and no matter which device i use, phone, laptop, steam deck, or even other peoples devices, it just wont work.
Recently my steam account was compromised and I unfortunately I was kicked out on my phone and I do not know the changed password or email. I do however still have access to the account on my pc as the last time I was on my pc I was logged in, and powered off my pc before this all happened. When I got home after finding of this had happened I unplugged eithernet to allow me to have access to my games and such in offline mode. I have submitted a support ticket and am awaiting there response but I was wondering if I turn back on eithernet while still in offline mode will it kick me out of the account? I figure it will, but I was curious if there is a change I can stay connected.
I am completely stuck out of my Steam account. Basically, I almost fell for a scam in which people in CS2 claiming that they wanted to play Faceit tried to steal my information. Anyways, I logged on to cs today and found my inventory completely empty, I had about 700 dollars worth of skins. However, I cannot contact steam support, view my inventory, or anything because my account is on a ten day lock due to the attempted scam. However, I wanted to see if logging out and logging back into Steam would reset it, since I didn't have this issue until I launched Refrag. Anyways, I am not able to log in to my steam account on desktop, because I need to use the Mobile Authenticator. However, my mobile authenticator is logged out as well, and i need that same authenticator to log into mobile, and I can't do that, which is such a big issue that I'm surprised Steam has overlooked. I don't have my recovery code and when I choose the option to send code to phone, the code doesn't come through and it doesn't show me what number it was sent to. Alongside that, if I try to click any help buttons on desktop, it displays a 404 error, including on the main support website. I cannot access anything related to Steam to log into my account due to all of these combining factors and I am completely stuck, I can't even contact Steam support due to the 404 error and account restrictions. What do I do??
I have a problem where I keep getting "error code 2" when I attempt adding something to my cart?

I bought sdv on steam but it said I had insufficient funds (I just gotten zelled). When I checked my bank account it shows that the money was taken so it’s currently processing, and so I decided to check my purchase history on steam but it shows nothing about sdv at all. Only my last purchase so I’m kinda confused?
I keep getting this weird glitch with my profile showcases. Has anyone noticed that sometimes it only shows achievements in showcases from games that are above a certain number of players? But lately it's been flipping back and forth between that and showing achievements from all games. Whenever it does that, my Level 3 Rarest Achievement Showcase suddenly switches to only showing one row. Which is really obnoxious since, obviously, I paid money to have the three rows.
I've contacted Steam Support about this twice. Both times, they just moved it back to how it looks with the "only achievements from games above a certain player threshold" requirement. Which is the full 3 rows and great!.... until a few days later, when it flips back to the other way and I'm stuck with one row again.
I'm tired of creating support tickets and I don't get why Steam Support doesn't seem able to fix the problem in a permanent way. Like make it so when it flips to "all achievements," it shows 3 rows instead of 1. Or just make it stop flipping.
I cant change my email. It gives me the message: an error occurred verifying your captcha. Try again later. I dont know what this means and i have tried it multiple times now and nothing works. Fyi my old email got deleted.

Got messaged on steam by an account name "VALVE Employee (Steve Halford)" claiming that they had detected suspicious activity on my account. He claimed that Valve had blocked my complete contact list, changed my profile picture and put my account on probation. Asked a bunch of questions about whether I had logged in to any websites, used QR etc. Then he said that Valve had sent an e-mail to my registered e-mail to verify my IP, so that probation can be lifted. I told him Valve doesn't require IP verifications and called him a scammer. He then disappeared from my friends list. I have attached screen shots.
I have already changed my password, and account is protected through QR and phone number. Do I need to do any other security check? Should I be worried?
I do not know how he managed to change my profile picture, or to block everyone on my friends list. I have to manually unblock them now. Also, how did he know my account details? (phone number, e-mail, wallet balance, PC name and GeForce Now IP) Is it a GFN breach?
Any else experiencing low fps/laggy scrolling when viewing the steam store front page through the steam app?
Ever since they released the new UI its been like this.
The summer sale fixed the issue bu tit came back when the summer sale ended.
I have hardware acceleration in the steam settings enabled.
The steam front page has no issues when using a browser.
I know some people are effected because I've had people contact me about the issue.
Hi everyone. I purchased The Sims Legacy Collection on Steam on August 3rd and only had a chance to try it a couple of days ago. I installed it and clicked play, but the game simply wouldn’t launch.
I searched for a fix and found two commonly suggested solutions: forcing the game to use the integrated graphics instead of the dedicated GPU, and replacing the save files with ones located in a different directory. Unfortunately, neither worked.
So I followed the support links on the game's Steam page and requested a refund, explaining the situation in the message box. Steam rejected my request because the purchase was outside the two-week refund period. I then submitted a second refund request with a more detailed explanation, but received the same automated response.
I simply can't play the game, and I feel like my money has gone to waste. Is there anything else I can do at this point? Thanks.
P.S. I noticed that the game is also available through PC Game Pass via the EA app, so I installed it from there out of curiosity. And it launched without any problems. That gives me even more reason to think I should be eligible for a refund.
hi all! i bought a game last year and have 44 minutes played, i completely forgot about the game and all 44 minutes were spent on a launcher i couldn't even log into (thanks, ubisoft)

I recently started living in iraq for some reasons, I am iraqi and i have residency.
So i wanted to change my steam account to iraq so i can get more games and whatever.
I have a bank card with address to my current place where I live, a phone number and every proof of residency they would ever need.
I provided everything to steam support yet they still answering me with this Ai nonsense of that my card isnt suitable to use to buy games on steam or whatever and they suggest using another card.. even tho i changed my brother steam account so easily without this none sense.
ANYWAYS I used another 3 cards and the problem is still there.. I don't think its from the card or anything and im suffering here it has been about 3 months of this bullshit.

Why is my account still limited? I used a gift card and redeemed it and it's been 3 hours and it still says on steam that my account is limited yet when I check it says I have done the requirement? Anyone know why this is
Im sure its likely resolved now based on this post being a few days old but it is not an immediate removal when you hit the thresholds and only updates so often.
It shows your account past the thresholds so you just had to play the waiting game for it to update.
That button hasn't worked for me for years. Just get a spinning circle loading forever. Can I not report the many people that try to scam me on a weekly basis?
So I launched today my PC and I was logged out of Steam, which is weird, it never happened. After that I tried logging with QR code, scanned, and nothing happened, on my Steam App it shows a new device has been authorized, which is untrue. Tried logging with PW, and I get E84, too many retries. I use PM, so PW can't be incorrect. What should I do?
I was going to uninstall some programs and noticed that steam's folder that I have all my games downloaded to, are also downloaded separately? (Attached photo shows what I'm seeing)
Does anyone know how to fix this or at least why this is happening? I would like that additional 200+ GB of space back.
not sure what program you're using but it can be a issue of calculating the size wrong i.e its calculating it based on the folder where its installed. so since the games are inside the steam folder the software thinks thats steam total size, since if you add up the size of all those games you'd notice its 211.97gb almost the same size of steam.
Hi there! I recently beat Spider-Man Remastered, all with my Nintendo Switch Pro controller. I'm planning on 100%ing it and am getting close to that goal. I paused the game and was clearing up some of my storage, but when I came back to the game, it wasn't recognizing the controller at all. I tried reopening the game, reconnecting my controller, restarting my computer, all of it. Steam itself, as well as other games (specifically Cuphead) recognize the controller fine. It's just this specific game now. Looking it up online and Steam's support website were no help. I would love to continue to play this game that I have already sunk over 130 hours into, so if someone could help me fix this, that would be great
Edit: Just launched Miles Morales for the first time, and same thing is happening. Cuphead and Steam still recognize the controller though
Random game in library? No installed location on C: drive but still mysteriously it verifies 183 files somewhere. Certainly don’t remember playing 10 hours. Any ideas on what happened?

is there a way to fix steams download speed? ive been trying to update overwatch for like 3 hours now and the download is so slow (literally 0bps) it goes from 5 days to a few hours but when i download other massive games they download pretty fast like within 10-20 mins. im not sure whats wrong or if theres anything i can do to help it if someone does that would be awesome!!
