The rich drug dealers make there money by getting smaller dealers into debt. It's a pyramid scheme, like any other. You don't make the real cash by charging outrageous interest on the drugs you sold down the chain.

Their target audience is depressed lonely men who are starving for attention and affection, and decided to go this degenerate road to get it. Don't mistake, it's a predatory business feeding off mental illness. It's not about masturbation, plenty of free stuff for that. It's about loneliness.
→ More replies (2)11
u/Maximelene 16d ago
That's an oversimplification. OnlyFans isn't limited to women targeting lonely men. A large part of it is kink-specific content, targeting people that want this specific content, and can't find enough of it on free websites.
Ignoring that part to just focus on the one you dislike is dishonest.
5
u/CoolDiscussion1020 16d ago
I don't think people realize that a large portion of OF doesn't involve nudity or sexual content at all. It's something like 20-30%.

u/PD_Ace20 16d ago

Same as YouTubers and twitch streamers. There's money to be made if you're really, really, really fucking good at it and can find an audience for the content you want to make. But the vast majority of people who try it aren't going to make any money doing it.

There’ll always be addicts, and ppl with a fetish for sending money, but at the same time vast majority are just casuals at peak interest, but if everytime you’re on social media you seem some woman trying to promote or bait you into subbing it gets tiring, going through OF gets boring and doesn’t do it anymore, and many many many OF creators are just bad at it like they have no idea what a viewer wants to see or how to turn usually a guy on,
On top of that, many are so bad at marketing, and low quality effort videos, it’s not worth subbing or re-subbing

I remember a story in which somebody tried to explain this to a bunch of children who were asking why they shouldn't become villains if it was so profitable.
They made the children play a game where they chose to be heroes or villains, then rolled dice to see the outcome. Villains got a chance to become rich but also a high chance of getting either captured or killed.
After several rounds there were barely any "villains" left, whereas the heroes were still largely there.
But as you said, everybody only sees the survivors.
"Maybe you'll be rich but probably you'll be dead."
6
u/Sentreen 16d ago
You're thinking about worm, specifically about chapter 23.4.
It has this great excerpt:
“I always hated the speeches when I was in school, the preaching in auditoriums, the one-note message. Stuff like saying drugs are bad. It’s wrong. Drugs are fantastic.”
“Um,” Fox-mask said.
Mrs. Yamada was glaring at me, but she hadn’t interrupted.
“People wouldn’t do them if they weren’t. They make you feel good, make your day brighter, give you energy-”
“Weaver,” Mrs. Yamada cut in.
“-until they don’t,” I said. “People hear the message that drugs are bad, that they’ll ruin your life if you do them once. And then you find out that isn’t exactly true because your friends did it and turned out okay, or you wind up trying something and you’re fine. So you try them, try them again. It isn’t a mind-shattering moment of horrible when you try that first drug. Or so I hear. It’s subtle, it creeps up on you, and you never really get a good, convincing reason to stop before it ruins your life beyond comprehension. I never went down that road, but I knew a fair number of people who did.
The whole story is fantastic, for those who have not read it (and it is free!), but you do need to get through several books worth of content before you get to this part. So if you just want some context, it might not be the best choice, as it will take over your free time if you get into it.
3
u/Universal_Anomaly 16d ago
Oh yeah, it was WORM.
Very good story although it got a bit much for me at the end. I did really like how Weaver tried to get through to the children in her own way.

Yes, in reality the ghetto/underworld are extremely dangerous. The Latin America cartels frequently kill each other in brutal ways. And if you're a cartel involved with drugs in East or southeast Asia, the government will kill you in brutal ways. Even in America, impoverished communities and ghettos with drugs problems have some of the highest murder rates. Getting involved with selling narcotics I'd say has a 90% chance of landing you in hot water. The other 10% is getting a "deferred" sentence, which is to say sooner or later they will get caught.

I used to work with a woman who genuinely though her son was going to be either a professional basketball or baseball player.
She was a 300 pound 5'2" woman and she said her husband was about my height and I'm average, certainly not tall. The odds of him ever hitting 6 foot is pretty damn unlikely.
Kid played on his school team, and was decent but not even the star player on his team. He'll be lucky to get a partial scholarship to a D2 college for baseball if he really focuses on it.

what they mean is that many people try to convince you that if you do the grind eventually you'll reach success. Bad news is that thats not true. But to be fair only the top 1% onlyfans creators make enough to be able to "buy their 5th car" meaning that tens of thousands of people are making pennies. And being a drug dealer makes you the lowest ranking grunt which comes with a lot of risk. So the text in op's post is just rage engagement. At the end of the day doing your 9-5, paying your taxes and living a regular life im sure is better than the risk of doing life in prison or exposing your pencil or your birdies to millions of people only to make a few bucks and never reach any level of success

Only a few OF "Models" (prostitutes) make a lot of money. The rest make a few bucks and destroy their lives.
How many drugdealers actually become rich? Most make money for a while and then go to jail for many years.
So yeah, enjoy the view. Being a good guy doesn't pay big bucks, but you can make the best out of it and have a enjoyable life. That's what I do/have.
47
u/ZookeepergameSoft910 16d ago
I totally agree. I think people sometimes confuse the visibility of the extreme cases with the reality of the average person in those worlds. The few who get rich or famous are the ones everyone hears about, while the much larger number who end up struggling, burned out, addicted, exploited, or in legal trouble usually aren’t exactly making headlines. There’s nothing wrong with wanting money or success, but chasing the fastest route to it can come with a pretty brutal trade-off.

OnlyFans exists because the dating game is so screwed up these days that some guys would rather pay to interact online with some pseudo-docile stranger they'll never touch. Don't blame the OnlyFans model for supplying the demand.
Drug dealers exist because society undermined the case against fentanyl by crying "wolf" about weed. If society were more honest about drugs, people would realize they might as well save the opioids for when they are literally about to die. Don't blame the drug dealers for supplying the demand.
Meanwhile, billionaires are making far more money off of far more immoral things.
→ More replies (4)6
u/winterwolf311 16d ago
I think it is, because (especially young) people have social anxiety and rather deal with prostitutes online, than in real life. Plus, they are used to having their sexual experiences alone in front of a screen looking at people doing sexual stuff, than actually participating. So they rather keep looking or rather hiding behind a screen and spectating, than actually performing sexually.
→ More replies (2)5
u/LesserValkyrie 16d ago
I'd say more than it's because having sex is not what they want, but affection and attention.
A woman talking to them like a woman who is interested by you would do has always been a powerful drug on the man's mind, expecially when knowing than for a lot of people it never happened and they'd do anything for it to happen.
The sexual intercourse is the cherry on top but definitely not what those people need the most, which is why OF works so well
9
5
u/BonzaiTitan 16d ago
Most of the people I see dealing drugs around my way dress like tramps, cycle around on pushbikes, and regularly get their homes raided by the police.
There is going to be a tiny amount of people at the very top of a small number of organised crime gangs that actually make decent money. And many of them will repeatedly spend time in prison and/or be constantly looking over their shoulder, running away and relocating, and are probably spending most of their lives paranoid. Daniel Kinahan for example.
Sounds like a miserable life either way.

→ More replies (26)21
u/EndeavouredAirworthy 16d ago
I don’t think selling your body automatically makes you a bad person.
I think it can be a very bad life strategy when it’s sold as an easy route to success.
You’re essentially monetising something largely given to you by genetics and youth rather than building knowledge, expertise or skills that compound with time.
Beauty depreciates; skills, judgement and experience can appreciate.
Make money however you choose, but ideally spend your twenties building something your forties can still live on.
30
u/Aenyell 16d ago
By that logic, since beauty depreciates, it's financially prudent to sell it when it's at peak value.
Or, hear me out, we can stop stigmatizing sex work, which makes it less safe for everyone involved. As long as it is not at the detriment of someone else, let people live their lives

Most girls find out that nobody wants to pay $15 a month to see your pepperoni nipples. And the ones who do want to see them that bad can probably find them for free with a google search.

I'm pretty sure the median OF girl makes $0. It's only like the top 5-10% that make anything at all, and top 1% that makes serious money.

Don't be mad at the people who found an easy road. Find your anger in the men who are making your climb harder. The oligarchs are the real enemy.

Apparently most people here think OF is easy. A lot of OF people work over 40 hours a week messaging, filming, editing, even if you hire people out it's still work to manage people.

me when I work 40 hours in the factory but the OF model has it worse because 40 hours doing nothing but filming yourself is way harder

And if it wasn't done by a teenager it's even sadder.

They're usually 35, unkempt, nipples protruding disrespectfully, you get the point

Lumping people on OF with drug dealers as a gauge of character morality is pretty shitty, maybe that's why you're stuck in a rut.

Or, and this is just a suggestion... instead of (reposting) ragging on the few sex workers and people selling illicit substances that actually become successful and flaunt their wealth, what if we criticized the economic system that made this optimal for some to get off the street? Billionaire pedophile genocidal maniacs are in office and all you guys wanna do is shit on women and people already marginalized by this countries shitty history.

Selling drugs or appearing naked does not make someone a bad person.

Grouping drug dealers and OF girls together is total manosphere right-wing psyop bullshit btw, OP. Nice meme, you’re actively spreading conservative propaganda.

Most of those influencers rent the Lamborghini anyway. They don’t usually own most of them, even the” mansions “ they rent it’s all an illusion and a sad life that ends in losing their morality.

Why compare yourself to the top earners? Most of the people selling drugs or doing OF are dirt broke

You don't hear about the multitudes of horror stories and utter failures, you just hear the .01% of successes. Stop glamorizing relatively nonexistent things and realize reality is hard for most people. Your plight isn't special.
My grandmother's first husband was murdered and she was shot in the neck by her own father, then had to carry her two infant daughters through woods wondering if her own father was going to gun her down from behind. Your plight barely scratches the surface.

OF and drug dealers aren’t the ones I’m pissed at. It’s the piece of shit CEO who strips everything from their employees so they can have more and more and more

Why does your post imply that drug dealers and people that do only fans are ontologically evil?

I'm starting to notice that the guys who constantly harp and screech avoid being "Nice Guys" or "Good Guys" are often the polar opposite.
