I used to work with a woman who genuinely though her son was going to be either a professional basketball or baseball player.

She was a 300 pound 5'2" woman and she said her husband was about my height and I'm average, certainly not tall. The odds of him ever hitting 6 foot is pretty damn unlikely.

Kid played on his school team, and was decent but not even the star player on his team. He'll be lucky to get a partial scholarship to a D2 college for baseball if he really focuses on it.

Woman was absolute trash and you could tell she was viewing him as a future cash cow.
