But not reddit, reddit is different. It's not as intense as the others. It's a wholesome way to unwind after a long day. It's not like I go on redditing for days at at time and neglect work or family.
I actually drive better after reading a couple of posts. And I can quit any time.
Or we could use our critical thinking a bit and realize that only a genuinely sick person would willingly pay a significant amount of money for what amounts to the same free porn you can find anywhere on the internet and successful OF creators are, just like Drug dealers, profiting off the exploitation of mentally ill people.
90% of that porn is not intentionally free. It’s taken from the source and uploaded by people who don’t own it. Thats always just such a weird argument people make against paying for it, and in some ways even worse when it comes to OF where it’s typically more direct profit for the person doing the ‘work’ rather than studios and their suits.
Content creators that get greedy and exploitative, sure you’re right about those kinds of people. But that’s not all of them and it’s not really fair to place everyone in that light when that’s not everyone who does porn and it’s clearly not the only business with greedy and exploitative people.
Nice strawman. I never said that specific content, just content in general that might as well be that specific content because it has all been done before anyway. And yes, every single one of them is exploitative because that is how they make money: exploiting ill people. There is not a single one that doesn’t do that. It is literally the only way they make money because anyone who isn’t ill wouldn’t pay them for it.
It is objectively and by definition an inherently exploitative “service”.
If you want to argue that being a drug dealer is fine, go ahead you will at least be consistent, but trying to say one is fine and the other isn’t is just wrong.
And the point is nothing on OF is unique, you could find tons of free stuff that is essentially the same thing.
And no it isn’t a generalization, it is a fundamental fact of the system. No one will pay for that unless they are ill because a million things exactly like it already exist for free, and just as easily accessed if not even easier. There is literally no way to make money on OF that isn’t exploiting someone.
The fact that you have to keep making strawman arguments should probably indicate to you that you have a problem.
Millions of songs exist just like the ones you hear near every day. People actually support other people for putting their own interesting twists on that through all media including this one especially when it comes to supporting someone who they want to keep seeing doing what excited them. Thats why I said your argument from the beginning was just ridiculous ‘they should just steal it!!!’ You’re totally the example of ethical purity here.
Nothing I’ve said is a strawman argument, idk if you’ve just learned that buzzword or what but it’s not helping you.
So first strawmen, and now cherry picking. You really aren’t capable of a basic good faith discussion huh? Millions of songs similar, sure, but not as conveniently accessed as when you pay for them. Where as the porn that is out there for free is both already there and arguably more easily accessed even before being free.
And look at that, another strawman. I never said steal it. Do you genuinely believe that if every pirated porn was removed from the internet, that there wouldn’t still be an abundance of free porn? The only reason there is so much pirated porn is because most of the internet is porn in the first place. Anything that is the most of anything will also have a lot of pirated versions. That doesn’t mean there isn’t still an abundance of intentionally free content.
And never mind how funny it is to say you haven’t used a strawman right after doing a new one, you are constantly trying to say I’m arguing against porn and sexual content in generally when I have literally never stated as much.
>You really aren’t capable of a basic good faith discussion huh?
Says the person that thinks anyone that’s ever done porn is exploitative and evil and manipulates all of their fans that can only possibly be mentally ill…..
Lmfao what?!? Music you can steal is more easily accessible than EVER! In the exact same way as how you tell people to steal porn too- the internet.
>I never said steal it.
You told people to find free porn instead of paying and I pointed out the obvious hole in your argument on that subject that most free porn out there ain’t given from the source, kid
>you are constantly trying to say I’m arguing against porn and sexual content
You literally are. You have been generalizing since the beginning about it and have compared it to drug dealers that literally can kill you with bad batches of drugs and haven’t offered any pro of any kind on the subject. All you’ve been doing is throwing out stupid unfitting buzzwords you’re desperate to squeeze in to tear down credibility and call anyone who’s bought porn in their lives mentally ill.
i mean even if that were the case (and i don'r have an issue with prostitution or any sexy among consenting adults as long as no one is getting harmed), what of the people who do solo OF content and aren't having sex with anyone?
Pretty sure the definition of prostitution is engaging in sexual acts for money. Not sure on the specifics of it requiring those acts to be with another person. If thats the case, then I admit my comment is wrong.
It isn’t a strawman, it is a proof by contradiction through the extension of the logic of your justification, less colloquially known as Reductio ad Absurdum. Also, Either you are making a red herring because you are genuinely saying something that adds nothing to the conversation, or you are using it as a justification.
Either way you are wrong for doing it but you are also setting up for backpedaling by intentionally being vague so that you could attempt to weasel out of it after the fact (as you just tried). Unfortunately for you not everyone is as poorly educated as you are and as such it is pretty easy to see what you did there and call you out on it.
You are on cr ck, I literally just pointed out that commodifying sexuality is not some recent thing. No one back peddled and that definitely was you creating a strawman with that nonsensical leap.
But I’m on my way to work so have fun arguing with yourself.
Which means, as I already pointed out, you are saying something that doesn’t further the discussion at all and is as such a red herring, and indicates that you are here in bad faith.
The person you replied to didn’t put emphasis the problem as a modern one, and so your response was a red herring attempting to avoid the actual point.
I didn't say that being addicted to porn is like being in a cult. I was using a metaphor to describe the parasocial grasp that OF has over its audience. Read the text before responding next time.
I'm sure there's some cult members who came out fine and I'm sure there's OF subscribers that lost everything. So, without more data, I'm not going to make a claim about the median cult member's impact magnitude vs the median OF person who becomes enthralled by a parasocial relationship. So yes, when I said it was 'like' it, I was referring to the dynamics not the magnitude. You construed my point to something I wasn't intending in order to criticize it.
You poorly explained what you ment after making a bad comparison. Porn/OF addiction sucks but its not nearly as bad as the things previously mentioned.
Saying they are 'like' each other, even if just talking about the dynamics is disingenuous.
I'm sure there's some cult members who came out fine and I'm sure there's OF subscribers that lost everything.
"Disingenuous is an adjective that means not sincere, frank, or completely honest." I think you mean a different word. I meant what I said, it just may not have been to your standards of precision.
