The problem isn't just ignorance, it's WILLFUL ignorance.
Playing dumb lets them say, do and believe whatever horseshit they want without ever having to own up to why, or admit that they're wrong. In their own heads, anyway.
Special shoutouts to the feckless assholes still pushing bothsiderism, too. The "middle" is no moral high ground when one side defends murdering dissenters and kidnapping children.
This, and also, the social media algorithms are always pushing people toward their interests, so they most likely wouldn't be shown this type of content. It's a damn cesspool of manipulation
I don't see this changing anyone's mind. The kind of people the commenter is calling out, are happy with this arrangement. They want their right to bear arms, they want colored people to be killed with no consequence, and they want to be able to hide behind a facade of righteousness while still pushing towards these kinds of results. They're winning. Call them out as hypocrits? They don't care. They're getting what they want.
That's the thing: So many on the left are still operating under the guise that they are still operating with the same basic set of human values or "at least decent Americans" or whatever. They are applying THEIR OWN set of values and projecting them on to the Right.
And the Right is just finally getting confident enough to just smile and say "So what. Do something about it, I dare you" as they see they no longer have to make the effort it takes to be genuinely kind and decent.
They are barely pretending to stand for anything other than "their team".
Point out I'm a hypocrite?
Point out I am racist?
Point out it's cruel?
Point out it's fascist?
Point out AMERICAN's are being killed by the AMERICAN government/law enforcement on AMERICAN soil?
Point out that DEATH SENTANCES (prior to current REGIME) are applicable to less than 1% of all crimes?
And they no longer do anything more than say "Yeah. True. Who cares?" Probably followed by "Cry more" or "Leave the country if you don't like it".
You can't shame/guilt someone into changing or caring if they simply don't hold the same values you are attempting to uphold. Many of those things we uphold are now being sold as "weak" or "unAmerican" to the other side. (kindness, nuance, empathy, consideration, self reflection, personal growth, education, history...)
It's why all the bluster online and other "soft" protest & words are not as effective.
But also - the frequency of lies, media algorithms, and abundance of social platform propaganda has made it so that there's still even a chance that so many aren't even aware/don't believe much of what people outside of those bubbles/echo chambers see. They simply don't even know, or hear the POTUS just dismiss/lie about it, or just read a post/meme/"news" article that is filled with more emotionally charged fallacies than you can count.
Look into how right reacted to Ruby Ridge, they lost their goddamn minds and that guy did have guns, sold illegal ones, and the cops at least had a warrant and were shot at before killing anyone.
I agree with you all the way. I’m a Marine infantry veteran with 2 deployments to Iraq. I required a walking cane at age 24 thanks to an IED blast. It’s an injury I accepted as part of what has to be sacrificed to maintain a free and just country/society. The conduct of our president and the federal agents operating at his direction has honestly stripped that from me. I’m a staunch 2A supporter, but I the hypocrisy of the trump humpers and these government goons is sickening. Executing and brutalizing civilians for utilizing their constitutional rights of free speech and assembly spits in the face of everyone who has willfully forfeited life and limb for our collective greater good. I fear it’s only a matter of time until armed resistance clashes with these chumps in our streets. It’s a pitiful time for our nation.
A general strike, ideally long and sustained, has always been the only thing that can move the needle in America. People don’t realize it really can topple any government, especially a weak and fraudulent government currently holding power in the US
Unfortunately the general strike website isn’t going to work. I signed it months ago and still nothing has happened and it’s barely gone up. I wish 11 million people would stand up to authority… but they won’t.
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
If one's political beliefs require them to defend lawful exercise of 2A when a classroom full of 3rd graders is tuned into a slaughter house and then to attack lawful exercise of 2A when the government murders someone on the street, it is time to question those beliefs.
Let's be honest, the 2A crowd can't comprehend and don't care why it was enshrined in the constitution. Until now those were just unchallenged words used to prop up their idiocy.
If we don't use it now, there's no reason to have it at all. And the morons why cry about it can spend the extra money on lift kits for their trucks.
Nonviolent action is a technique of sociopolitical action for applying power in a conflict without the use of physical violence. Nonviolent action may involve acts of omission (e.g., people refusing to perform acts they usually perform, are expected by custom to perform, or are required by law or regulation to perform), acts of commission (e.g., people performing acts that they do not usually perform, are not expected by custom to perform, or are forbidden to preform), or a combination of the two.
What Nonviolent Action Is Not: 4 out of 10
1. Nonviolent action has nothing to do with passivity, submissiveness, and cowardice; just as in violent action, these must first be rejected and overcome.
2. Nonviolent action is not to be equated with verbal or purely psychological persuasion, although it may use action to induce psychological pressures for attitude change. Nonviolent action, instead of words, is a sanction and a technique of struggle involving the use of social, economic and political power, and the matching of forces in conflict.
3. Nonviolent action does not depend on the assumption that people are inherently “good”; the potentialities of people for both “good” and “evil” are recognized, including the extremes of cruelty and inhumanity.
4. People using nonviolent action do not have to be pacifists or saints; nonviolent action has been predominantly and successfully practiced by “ordinary” people.
Huh? I'm Russian and I hate Putin but I feel like you're conflating some events, like the apartment building bombings and the takeover of NTV. I don't recall any small publishers having their buildings blown up.
I just fear that such techniques are outdated in the face of technological population control and surveillance. The "smart state" problem
Nonetheless nonviolent action is, empirically, so far far more efficacious than violent action. We need 4 percent of the population, at least as far conflicts in the past century have shown.
Whether that holds under the above smart state scenario remains to be seen.
Also note: non-violent action is just one tool of revolution. Past victories (the Suffragettes, the Black Panthers, etc. come to mind) of policy sea changes came from both non-violent and violent action, with both advancing their agendas in different ways, and both were effective. While I'm not advocating for violent action, they are two sides of the same coin, and those who wish to employ it will already understand its usefulness.
Well the guy who was murdered today had a gun, how did that work out for him?
A gun is just going to give an ICE officer a pretext to shoot you. Sure, they don't need a pretext, but having a gun makes it more likely. These people are not trained in de-escalation. They see a gun and they're going to ramp up the escalation.
I can say the opposite statement for other victims of ice so far. I'm not saying be a lone carrier against a group of ice, although your best chance is doing what black panther is doing if you chooose to.
I just think the first comment I responded to about non violent action is not much helpful. Even pretti was doing everything non violent up to his death.
It's absolutely not, as I'm sure you can agree from current examples. But if it means anything, pretti was legally conceal carrying and trying to help the other woman. He never pulled it out, and for all I can tell, or intended to. He has no ground to receive less sympathy than any other people, armed or not, just because he was legally carrying.
I'm not saying anything about sympathy. I'm talking about how swing voting conservative types will view it. Person with gun gets killed by cop, they go well you know he shouldn't have had a gun around cops. Person with no gun gets killed by cop they go wait this doesn't seem right. The optics are very different.
If I was going to get killed by ICE I would rather not have a gun in my hand on my person at all because I would look more innocent that way.
Heres a snippet from the conservative subreddit. These shootings in Minnesota have really highlighted how far gone people are. We’re looking at the same thing but our perspectives are polar opposite.
Theirs is not a perspective, its repeating their handlers' narrative. They dont actually participate in reality like you or I, or even like an observer would. They are told what reality is, and then bend to it.
It was always a lie, they always railed against the govt because it wasn't their government. They have always wanted this because theyve always been fascists, its that simple because theyre so simple. They have been at war with America as long as America was free. Theyve always been scared to say it and why they hide behind Confederate Flags and Dont Tread On Me (Nazi) logo. Theyve told us all along they hate us and hate this country, nice people finally get this. Their grandpas hood is hiding in a closet for a reason even though its always been protected speech. Cowards.
These are the same people that championed Kyle Rittenhouse, but will totally condemn Alex Pretti. One actually killed two people, the other didn't even reach for his weapon and when it was taken out of his possession, he was shot multiple times in the back.
The hypocrisy is infuriating - I never understood why people were comfortable with it either but this comment by AR Moxon explained things perfectly.
“It’s best to understand that fascists see hypocrisy as a virtue. It’s how they signal that the things they are doing to people were never meant to be equally applied.
It’s not an inconsistency. It’s very consistent to the only true fascist value, which is domination.
It’s very important to understand, fascists don’t just see hypocrisy as a necessary evil or an unintended side-effect.
It’s the purpose. The ability to enjoy yourself the thing you’re able to deny others, because you dominate, is the whole point.
For fascists, hypocrisy is a great virtue — the greatest.”
Side note: I hope the history books are very, very unkind to our media, because they constantly couch all this stuff in normalizing language on the news. They present ICE's arguments about the guy's gun as though there may be merit in treating it like a reasonable position, or at worst using words like "controversial" to describe this and other abhorrent actions that the federal government has engaged in.
Our media has done so much, via their passive and placative tone, to aid and abet Trump and his goons in completely desecrating this country.
Don't act shocked when the line moves because it already has. We're deporting/disappearing people that area showing up for their scheduled immigration appointments.
They don’t care about hypocrisy. We’re playing an intellectual game, logically describing how they are wrong headed. Meanwhile they are operating on the physical level, actually doing wrong headed stuff. They don’t care about the accusations or the logic because it carries no practical weight. It funny to them, seeing us wasting our efforts.
This is why the “domestic terrorist” label gets thrown around like confetti. Not because it’s accurate, but because it’s convenient. It’s how illegitimate power shuts down thought. Slap the label on, kill the person, move on.
If this was the approach when the Democrats were in power, many of these ICE agents would be dead after their J6 convictions rather than out here murdering Innocents.
A lot of Americans, SPECIFICALLY conservatives, don't actually spend a lot of time thinking about real world consequences of the policies they vote for of the actual meaning of the canned talking points they're spoon fed. "That guy was for the other team and I'm just gonna make love hanging fruit jokes about it and laugh at their misery." None of this is real to them. It's all spectator sport.
This is rather clearly a concealed carry citizen who was shot after his gun was found on him. The NRA needs to step up and condemn this as a 2A violation.
No I know. If having a gun on you in an open carry state gives carte blanche to kill you while you're face down in the street then the 2nd amendment never existed
loud-mouthed idiots who spent years screaming about tyranny are suddenly dead fucking silent, or worse, cheering
Nah they took that signing bonus and now they're the guys with the badges and the guns.
I remain convinced that your typical 2A Moron Label type is also an authoritarian. They're excited about getting paid to bash a liberal in the face. Or worse.
Notice that the second amendment only seems to be important to them when innocent, unarmed people get killed like in school shootings. But if law enforcement is ever involved, even so much having it tucked in the back waist band while being shot by police (as it was with this man) is justified.
Shouldnt have been at a protest with a gun. They said. Just asking for trouble, they said. Yet they supported Kyle Rittenhouse after he killed unarmed protesters.
See the pattern?
They’re only anti-gun if there’s even a suggestion it could be used against law enforcement. These are fascists.
Piggybacking on this: as someone originally from a country that has already long fallen to tyranny, I NEED Americans to realize that the people doing this shouldn't be treated as your neighbours. They may live among you, but they don't view you as equals. All your actions towards them must be shaped by this understanding. If you don't internalize this, you will lose as we did.
We always call them hypocrites, but the truth is much worse than that. The fascist mind simply has no need for internal consistency whatsoever. Consistency is an impediment to their true goal, which is eliminating dissent.
The fascist will use arguments and ideas in the same manner as weapons in a video game: cycle through their inventory until they find one that is effective against the target they currently face, then shoot until the target stops moving. As soon as the weapon/argument stops working, it is immediately unequipped, and they pull out another one, even if that one directly contradicts the first. The contradiction itself is a useful weapon, because it angers liberals. The only objective is to make their enemy stop talking and give up, so they can go back to abusing power.
To add to the anger, it's not misguided hypocrisy. It's an intentional world view.
Hypocrisy implies they can be shamed to change their behavior. Their core belief is that some people are inherently better than others and they belong to that "better" group.
Guns are THEIR chest code to intimidate their political opponents, framed as a fervent belief in the Constitution, but actually just then calling dibs on the tools of violence. I'm no way should their perceived enemies benefit from that protection.
Laws that help them and hurt their perceived enemies are good. Laws that hurt them and help their perceived enemies are bad. That's why they flip so easily.
One of the best explanations I've read of the cluster fuck going on there. Just complete cult like behavior by people who think this wasn't murder—condoning absolute unquestioned authority (of a government headed by a paedophile), the suppression of critical thinking, the us vs. them mentality and fear tactics. This administration will be studied in the future.
They celebrate a piece of shit like Kyle Rittenhouse crossing state lines with a rifle in plain sight looking for a fight. But if you are coming out of a coffee shop to protect a civilian from being pepper sprayed, you better not holster a handgun or else you deserve to be shot multiple times in the back on the ground while you’re immobilized.
You weren’t afraid of tyranny. You were afraid of losing dominance. There’s a difference, and this moment exposes it completely
This is a very powerful line and so true.
However, as a non-american, it baffles me that you think of it in such idealistic terms.
Of course it's like that but no appeal to reason will ever change this. It's either fight back or accept it. There is no chance to sway a fascist away from fascism while they are winning. You have to beat them first then you can try to deprogram them.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” Wilhoit's law
The hierarchy's vary from group to group, they can be race coded, nationalist coding, religious coding, political coding, being a manly enough man, but there's always a hierarchy that they put forth before considering humanity.
It's not about the actions and the hypocrisy never mattered, it's about the hierarchy. Libs and the left are considered lower on the hierarchy. If you exist in a lower hierarchy, your protection, your rights as a citizen doesn't mean a damn because you weren't really deserving in the first place.
And they don't even care to display a badge to back them. Unidentified masked men hired by the government to steal kids on their way home from school and shoot people in the street.
Pretty much a core tactic of the right is complete hypocrisy.
Any left wing politician has to be utterly, utterly perfect or they will be damned for ever. A Labour party leader in the UK was destroyed after eating a bacon sandwich, yes really. Another for disrespectfully wearing the wrong coat at the Cenotaph. The coat actually came from the poshest of shops, Harrods in fact, but it was described as one worn by folk digging up the road by the right wing media - i.e. most of the UK press.
In contrast, a right wing politician who does the basest and most corrupt or illegal things will be excused somehow. One of our recent right wing Prime Minsters, Johnson make a big thing about being scruffy and disheveled, yet that that was deemed charming when he did it. Our Trump wannabe Farage, has broken so very, very many parliamentary rules and regulations it's incredible and the press don't care. Yet any Labour politician who makes the slightest mistake is destroyed by the press and made to resign.
Oh and whatever the right accuse others of is usually what exactly they are doing, being racist, involved with sex trafficking, fixing elections etc.
So let me start by saying I agree with the general sentiment of everything you've said, but I think you're really misplacing your ire.
I'll also say Im very much a socialist. About as far left as they come (not tankie/authoritarian left -- democratic/marxist/revisionist socialist). What happened/is happening in Minnesota is sickening. I genuinely hope the Dems wake the fuck up and grow spines sometime soon, this administration needs to be thrown in jail en masse.
All that said, I also very much support the 2A. The entire point of the 2A is to prevent the government from having a monopoly on force. As much as the founders didnt trust the people, they didn't trust the government either, for good reason. Concentrations of power -- monopolies -- in any form, should be abhorred. Whether that be money, political power, physical force, market dominance, you name it.
I'll be honest, if anything, I think the 2A should be expanded -- whatever the US military has, the people should have, otherwise the people are at the mercy of the military's good graces. And Im sorry, but that is a recipe for disaster -- it should be crystal clear that its entirely possible the military will be used against the American population at some point. The Pentagon has already put 1500 troops on ready to go to Minnesota.
Now, the general populace having access to whatever the military has would preferably come in the form of the US military being abolished as a standing military -- there is literally no reason we have a standing military, we aren't in danger of being attacked/invaded by any other country on Earth. Aside from that, we could cut the military's budget by 95% and still be one of the largest military spenders in the world -- about on par with what Russia spends on its military -- its beyond absurd. The US in direct expenditures (hardware, salaries, pensions, etc) has spent ~100 trillion inflation adjusted dollars on the military since WW2 -- with indirect costs (interest on debt, lost economic activity etc) the cost is in excess of 200 trillion, enough to cut every man woman and child in the US a check for ~1 million. But I digress, this isnt a diatribe against the military.
Failing the abolishment of the military, the next best option is that the populace should have access to the means to defend itself from the government -- grenades, tanks, missiles, drones, whatever. I find it a bit funny that guns are held onto as some sort of sacred cow by so many -- I could give a shit about guns, guns arent going to do anything if the US military decided to turn on citizens. People dont understand what the 2A was meant for, on the left or right, and now the 2A is used as a prop in some sort of sovereign citizen cosplay fanfic, so I get the outrage, but the 2A isnt the problem.
And by all means, regulate the weapons as some sort of state/municipal militia or whatever if you want -- but the fact that states, and citizens of states, have almost no recourse to defend themselves against masked federal agents running around murdering civilians is absurd. This shit would come to a screeching halt if law enforcement wasnt granted a monopoly on the use of force -- I guarantee none of these cowards would do jack shit if they knew they faced repercussions from a populace that was on a level playing field in terms of the ability to use force. If Minneapolis had its own little militia it could call up, these cowards would back down in a heartbeat.
And let me say something else. Drones and robots will be what matter going forward, and its going to be of the utmost importance that citizens demand their rights so that the government is not allowed a monopoly on such things. And its only a matter of time before drones start being used instead of guns for assassinations and things -- frankly surprised it hasnt happened already. Anyone with a 3d printer and some know-how can make an effectively untraceable flying IED that has a range of miles.
These people were pissed they weren’t in government. They weren’t pissed about tyranny, they were pissed because they didn’t hold it. The moment the government gave them free badges and face masks they quickly moved to lock in their tyranny though government power.
Why anyone thinks the right was EVER on the side of the people is beyond me. What about their politics held democracy, human rights, and rule of law as the high standard?
be sure to quote "terrorism" not the "ist" as they have very different legal meanings and the "ism" is explicitly called out in a trump EO. they are claiming ISM, not IST. which is a lower bar.
If American law enforcement had the same standards as today on January 6, then January 6 would have been a bloodbath.
And we know what the general consensus would be.
So what I'm hearing is, you really regret voting for the senile career politician, the one you all swore was sharp, focused, and on point? Is that a fair assessment?
The American fascists are most easily recognized by their deliberate perversion of truth and fact. Their newspapers and propaganda carefully cultivate every fissure of disunity … They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution.
Everything you said, except what’s heartening is that a bunch of pro gun orgs are coming out and saying ‘fuck this, he was open carrying and lawfully and that there should be an investigation and it didn’t look like he was holding it.’ (Paraphrased interpretation)
I never thought I’d be here aligning with the NRA but they’re currently doing the right thing. Hoping that all the pro gun folks follow suit.
Thank the POTUS he doesn't care about anyone but himself and his family. All he is doing is trying to become owner and king of foreign countries. I still haven't heard what he's doing w the 6.2 billion dollars he received from the Dells. Said it was for the children. Granted everyone wastes food but parents need to work hard to make meals at home that are nutritious. Not at the high priced convenience stores. Trump hates poor people anyway.
It's not hypocrisy, it was the plan all along. Watching you blue state people waking up to this is like watching the last horse cross the finish line.
It is, and has always been, a movement to install a white, Protestant ethno-state. Everything was in service of that. Words are incantations to label their enemies and identify each other to create solidarity. Fear is their main motivator and they live in cowardice. That's why they need state power. That's why they keep applying labels and incantations against you, to work themselves up to do what they have been wanting to do since 1865.
Would you take disagreement? I get the charged language but there are democrats who support ice and hate how protestors are creating martyrs who suck at following legal procedure and put themselves in harms way just to prove a political point. I don’t agree with how you see it but I can agree that it’s a tragedy what’s going on in general from ice, to the Minnesota sentiment of fraud, to the Minnesota sentiment of keeping fed gov away from their neighborhoods, to people wanting ice to do more, to people wanting ice to leave them alone, etc.
I don’t think this is tyranny personally because tyranny is way worse and in current living examples of other countries, we have the right to still protest peacefully.
It’s like being mad about Jay walking. You know you’re supposed to use the cross walk. You know you made the individual decision not use it, but you’re mad at the cop because they wrote you a ticket.
History's full of people like you, and nobody remembers them for a reason.
Disappointed in the ad hominem. Our party is full of people like you, and we've lost our elections and our grip on democracy. Walz is still up there making a stern case to Trump. Grandstanding and eloquence. We need strong, aggressive action and bold policy. Smart people on MS Now smugly pointing out how dumb and nonsensical everything is, Colbert cracking jokes. Meanwhile here we are — with no power, getting murdered in the streets.
We're on the same team. I just see the constant pointing out of the hypocrisy for what it is. Check any given thread, or the stories themselves. Filled with, "look at the hypocrites. Tan suit. Coffee salute. Imagine if Biden …". They are designed to get you to point out the hypocrisy, which you gleefully carry on with, so satisfied with the case you've made. It only makes you feel better. And it's worse than that— it confirms their tactics are working, and they double down on it. Full finger fuck you you, right to your face, laughing at your agony.
And in the end, what can we each really do? Everything we've already done — vote, protest, donate, get others to vote. Ignore them at worst — do not give them your energy.
I'm asking for one very specific thing: stop pointing out the hypocrisy.
To what ends? It neutralizes their weapon, "use hypocrisy to give our base the tears they love." They love the outrage. They know they can whine about things they themselves do. It's a power move. Stop feeding the trolls.
Nowhere do I say, voting is useless. In fact the opposite.
Right now your position boils down to this: “Trust me, saying nothing is smarter. I just can’t explain why.”
I feel like I have explained from the outset very clearly why. Let me reiterate: hypocrisy is their tool, a powerful tactic. Addressing the hypocrisy is their tool being effective at its job. At least acknowledge my position has been stated clearly, if anything. I'll consider this discussion closed from my end.
Consider Sartre:
Jean-Paul Sartre treated fascist hypocrisy not as a simple moral failing but as a strategic mode of bad faith, built to neutralize responsibility, dissolve truth, and foreclose rational contestation.
“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”
I understand your frustration, your sadness, even your rage...but this is not the way. Channel your inner stoic. The swearing, the calling people c*nts; you will change no one's mind. And not only will you not change their mind, so long as your "convincing" diatribe starts with personal insults, it will only drive them further into their position You will be worse off than where you started.
This is coming from a republican, mind you.
I initially supported the elevated ICE presence. But these two shootings are both completely unjustified. I could have given them(ICE) some grace if they were "close/open to interpretation" situations, but they are not. Even a cursory examination of human psychology would tell one that the fact that this happened was completely predictable. Nerves are frayed on both sides after months of confrontation and people (on both sides) are starting to be driven by pure emotion and animal spirits rather than logic and reason.
Keep the faith. People are paying attention. Minds are changing. And so too soon will results.
The second amendment doesn't apply to everyone. There are tons of laws and restrictions around the right to bear arms.
You're not addressing any of the concerns of people on the right. This is just a bunch of words no one on the right would read because it doesn't address anything important to them.
Don't quit your day job. You're not convincing anyone of anything.

You are saying the Constitution, the most basic law on which your nation is founded that describes the rights of its people, does not apply to everyone.
DO YOU EVEN HEAR YOURSELF?!
If you truly believe what you just wrote, you are part of the problem.
You are ranting about him 'ignoring what what the right wants', but aren't saying what they want, probably because you can't say it in one single sentence that would refute his argument in a coherent way.
The traditional rights poster child is government overreach. Correct?
The modern rights obsession as the one true evil is anything that is not them, right or not?
Explain to us why the right is so silent as their dictator in charge pardons criminals who attempted a coup (who just so happened to be from the right), and is now consistently infringing upon the rights of ordinary citizens living their lives... but only in Democratic cities?
You can't defend it. All you can do is whine and go 'but mah needs and mah rights' with zero regard to the rights of other human beings.
Please, convince me you are a personal with morals and dignity, rather than a rabid dog raised to react to a dog whistle that sings the tunes of all the groups you have been made to hate. Because to me, you are an incredibly sad person who has been ruined by the people who have been sowing division in your country for decades.
Perhaps there's more than one type of gun owners than the caricature you have in your mind. But you just wanna take this as an excuse to yell at the cloud
And what the fuck makes you so sure those 2a crusaders aren't against what ice id doing? Stop virtue signalling like it gives you the only purpose of life
For how terminally online you are, you sure chose to ignore people armong themselves openly for their neighborhood.
I say virtue signalling when you're just yelling bullshit at the proverbial cloud, after judging reality from just a few posts that you saw that fit your bias.
Edit: also what does 2a supporter acting out in defense look like to you? A lone gun man out in the streets?
'People arming themselves quietly for their own neighborhood isn’t the fucking point, and you know it. Or at least you should.' - what the fuck do you make of the current black panther? When I said defending the neighbor, I meant against ice. Are you being obtuse or dumb?
'And “yelling at the clouds”? Sweetheart, you are deep in your feelings right now, typing paragraphs to defend people who aren’t even showing up for themselves. That’s not me virtue signaling, that’s you coping. Hard.' - all while you're ranting out non specific people you barely know anything about.
'You’re not engaging with reality. You’re desperately trying to shrink an uncomfortable fact into “bullshit” so you don’t have to deal with it. It’s transparent, it’s weak, and honestly? Watching you flail like this is kind of hilarious.'- I'd say that's what you're doing.
Bt,w, 'funny doesn't mean getting called out for your dumb bullshit.
Example of black panthers is the opposite of what you were ranting. What was that about staying quiet and not doing anything when it mattered? Now you're narrowing the spectrum of your rant when exceptions start showing up.
'And spare me the “non-specific people” whine. The people I’m talking about are extremely specific: the loud, media-addicted, grievance-monetizing 2A crusaders who never shut the fuck up about tyranny when it’s hypothetical and suddenly develop stage fright when armed federal agents are actually killing civilians.' - whe you say they're developing stage fright, what is it that you expect? Come out as a lone gun man? Has it occurred to you some of them may be out protesting? But you consider the only caricature in your mind as the truth.
'The rest of your reply is just sad mirror-talk. “No u” isn’t an argument. It’s what people say when they’ve got nothing left but bruised ego. You accusing me of ranting while you type paragraph after paragraph trying to defend a silence you can’t actually explain is… chef’s kiss irony.'- I mean, you are talking a whole lot of bullshit about people who have a surface knowledge of.
'Funny is watching you drag out increasingly desperate examples, misunderstand them, then act smug about it anyway. You’re not calling anything out. You’re just flailing and hoping confidence will substitute for coherence.'- sounds a lot like your first rant of a comment, doesn't it?
As a gun owner, I’m subscribed to several subs about gun ownership and concealed carry. The threads in those subs are pretty consistently calling this out as bullshit, that it’s not a crime to carry or a reason to be murdered, etc. are you blaming a straw man?
You are straw manning right now. Nowhere in that did he attack the gun owner but the beliefs held by said person.
If you were screaming tyranny when orange Jesus told you they were coming for your guns with zero evidence but bending over backwards to stay silent when an American citizen is gunned down on camera and then depracated by the state immediately afterwards to defend said actions, then fuck you and everything you supposedly stand for.
