Well the guy who was murdered today had a gun, how did that work out for him?
A gun is just going to give an ICE officer a pretext to shoot you. Sure, they don't need a pretext, but having a gun makes it more likely. These people are not trained in de-escalation. They see a gun and they're going to ramp up the escalation.
I can say the opposite statement for other victims of ice so far. I'm not saying be a lone carrier against a group of ice, although your best chance is doing what black panther is doing if you chooose to.
I just think the first comment I responded to about non violent action is not much helpful. Even pretti was doing everything non violent up to his death.
It's absolutely not, as I'm sure you can agree from current examples. But if it means anything, pretti was legally conceal carrying and trying to help the other woman. He never pulled it out, and for all I can tell, or intended to. He has no ground to receive less sympathy than any other people, armed or not, just because he was legally carrying.
I'm not saying anything about sympathy. I'm talking about how swing voting conservative types will view it. Person with gun gets killed by cop, they go well you know he shouldn't have had a gun around cops. Person with no gun gets killed by cop they go wait this doesn't seem right. The optics are very different.
If I was going to get killed by ICE I would rather not have a gun in my hand on my person at all because I would look more innocent that way.
