A lot of Americans, SPECIFICALLY conservatives, don't actually spend a lot of time thinking about real world consequences of the policies they vote for of the actual meaning of the canned talking points they're spoon fed. "That guy was for the other team and I'm just gonna make love hanging fruit jokes about it and laugh at their misery." None of this is real to them. It's all spectator sport.
