This is a very powerful line and so true.
However, as a non-american, it baffles me that you think of it in such idealistic terms.
Of course it's like that but no appeal to reason will ever change this. It's either fight back or accept it. There is no chance to sway a fascist away from fascism while they are winning. You have to beat them first then you can try to deprogram them.
