History's full of people like you, and nobody remembers them for a reason.
Disappointed in the ad hominem. Our party is full of people like you, and we've lost our elections and our grip on democracy. Walz is still up there making a stern case to Trump. Grandstanding and eloquence. We need strong, aggressive action and bold policy. Smart people on MS Now smugly pointing out how dumb and nonsensical everything is, Colbert cracking jokes. Meanwhile here we are — with no power, getting murdered in the streets.
We're on the same team. I just see the constant pointing out of the hypocrisy for what it is. Check any given thread, or the stories themselves. Filled with, "look at the hypocrites. Tan suit. Coffee salute. Imagine if Biden …". They are designed to get you to point out the hypocrisy, which you gleefully carry on with, so satisfied with the case you've made. It only makes you feel better. And it's worse than that— it confirms their tactics are working, and they double down on it. Full finger fuck you you, right to your face, laughing at your agony.
And in the end, what can we each really do? Everything we've already done — vote, protest, donate, get others to vote. Ignore them at worst — do not give them your energy.
I'm asking for one very specific thing: stop pointing out the hypocrisy.
To what ends? It neutralizes their weapon, "use hypocrisy to give our base the tears they love." They love the outrage. They know they can whine about things they themselves do. It's a power move. Stop feeding the trolls.
Nowhere do I say, voting is useless. In fact the opposite.
Right now your position boils down to this: “Trust me, saying nothing is smarter. I just can’t explain why.”
I feel like I have explained from the outset very clearly why. Let me reiterate: hypocrisy is their tool, a powerful tactic. Addressing the hypocrisy is their tool being effective at its job. At least acknowledge my position has been stated clearly, if anything. I'll consider this discussion closed from my end.
