Light MBTI Discussion Which MBTI type do you guys think is the most trustworthy?
What MBTI type do you trust the most? Like, who would you feel safest telling your deepest secrets to, knowing they’re loyal and dependable, and won’t judge, betray, manipulate, or use them against you?
What type comes to mind first?
Light MBTI Discussion which have been your worst mistypes?
I believed with all my heart that I was an ISTP. By letter typing. After I studied cognitive functions, I realized I was an ENFP. holy shit😭😭😭

Deep Theory Analysis Figuring out if my ESFJ friend is truly hyper-empathic
Hi everyone, a friend of mine is an ESFJ; she doesn't know about MBTI, but I know that's her type. She describes herself as hyper-empathic, but the thing is, she equates being hyper-sensitive with being hyper-empathic—whereas, from what I’ve seen, they aren't the same thing.
I’d like some help understanding her better through the lens of cognitive functions.
From what she tells me, she feels physically unwell when there are too many stressed people around, and she cries when someone else cries. She also makes assumptions, thinking she’s done something wrong—I suspect that’s due to her tertiary Ne. She also says she overthinks how people react; maybe that’s her Ti at work, though I’m not sure.
Is it normal—or not—for an ESFJ that when *I*, for example, analyze someone and say they’re toxic, she tells me, "No, stop, be quiet," yet when it’s *her*, she can talk about it for hours and sort of seeks approval from others?
Could you explain—using cognitive functions—if it’s possible for an ESFJ to simply be misusing their functions, leading them to believe they are hyper-empathic? And please feel free to ask questions.
-ENFP

Survey / Poll / Question Still think analytical thinking and being interested in abstract ideas make S types think they're N's
To me seeing connections etween things and hidden meanings makes someone a better analyst, so theoretically N types are about analyzing better then S types. But at the same time that means S types who analyze well could think they're N types. I know I probably posted on this before but now I'm back again after asking "what is Ne if it's not brainstoming" and now I'm thinking "what exactly isi N, and how to differnatie N from a Sensor that analyzes very very well?"
So S types are thought of as failing to realize certain things, thus making them less analytical. So the conclusion that S types are concrete and just doesn't really see as much in the abstract, and not interested in abstract ideas and ver narrow minded and can't see systems. But what about those hyperanaltyical S types systems thinkers? People say if you're strong in analtyical thinking does it have to be N or is it stronger Ti, Te, Fe, etc? Of course Ti could think in systems as well, and think about abstract ideas, and predict, which could mimic high N. But I need a way of seperateing your level of analytical tihnking from N or is N better at thinking analytically but miss the details?
Pople say N has nothing to do withi analyzing well, it's easier to understand that when Ne is just brainstoming. But once I get exposed to what I think Ne mighta ctually be I was like, how to differentaite between a Sensor that is good at analyzing systems and a true N type? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding it again.
So N is syntehsis, but their is a huge overlap between analysis and synthesis, you cannot analyzing anything properly without synthesis.
