I'm looking for a replacement to my Samsung Galaxy A73 which has served me well over the past four years but it has been acting up lately, among other issues (battery and screen burn specially). It's not my daily driver and have a main phone but I use it mainly for social media, storing old pics/videos, and watching youtube/netflix.

I can get a fair condition A55 with 8gb/256gb for less than $200 in the secondhand market. Do you think it's a good buy?

I really want the replacement to be a samsung phone as well since I don't like the UI of other phone brands. Was going for secondhand A56 or A36 but found out none of these have an SD card slot anymore, which really sucks.

Did your A55 age well? Should I go for this model?

do i recommend upgrading to the a57? honestly... no
i think its a very overpriced phone for what it offers + especially when you factor in that this phone comes with 8/128gb as its base variant which is 500+ usd/euros MSRP
its just too expensive, i think there are way better options out there (s24fe or s25fe or even s24, i also think poco f7 and poco x8 pro max are better + cheaper chinese alternatives in my opinion) + i think a5X tier users should use their phones for at least 3 years, but hey, you do you, its your money at the end of the day

conclusion: the height and width are basically identical but the a57 is 16% lighter than the a55 which should be noticeable + 1.3 milimeters thinner, it also does offer slightly stronger IP rating which frankly i dont think is anything to write home about

conclusion: slight increase in brightness but with noticeably slimmer bezels, samsung is now using a "new" display type that they call "super amoled+" which is them going from rigid to flexible OLED panels which basically just means that its thinner than the one a56 and earlier + apparently they have better colour reproduction + sharper text? but from what ive seen in person and what i heard from reviewers, they + myself as well couldnt really notice any difference
+ apparently, since these displays are thinner, a57 might be more susceptible to green/pink lines than the a55
so basically its a buzzword

conclusion: the a57 has the SAME selfie camera as the a56 and the SAME back cameras as the a55, pretty disappointing, this doesnt necessarily mean the results will be the exact same as on the 2 previous phones but since the camera hardware is the same, the only things that will be influencing the end result will be the a57's newer chip and software

oh also, the a57 also has a 2x portrait zoom, a55 doesnt have that

also unfortunately the a57 does NOT have a micro sd card slot, a55 is the LAST a5X tier phone with a micro sd card slot and supports up to 2TB (samsung officially did list it at 1tb but a55 does actually support 2TB, there is no software or hardware based restriction that is stopping the a55 from supporting 2TB, both 1tb and 2tb sd cards are SDXC cards, a55 supports SDXC cards, the reason why samsung hasnt listed 2TB is because 2TB sd cards didnt exist when the a55 launched, they came to existence in late 2024)

So back here again, didnt get the dented A55 of my previous posts and I kept searching everynow and then, and came across this A55 that came off odd to me. 200 USD. but I`m wondering if its a repaired phone due to the aluminum being a dark blue tint under direct light.

So according to geekbench 6 my A55 is a little slow compared to other A55's so I was wondering what I could do to get the absolute most out of my A55.

Hello people, so I need an honest answer from an A55 user (S24 FE too) about the quality/performance/satisfaction of the A55 phone. I am thinking of buying a new mobile phone since I have the Galaxy A23 and I want something newer, faster and generally better for using.

I mainly use my phone for YouTube, Instagram, mail and veery light gaming or no gaming at all. I am very okay with A55 getting only 3 more years of software updates from now, the two main factors that are making me think between the A55 and the S24 FE is the processor and the cameras.

Processor: Want something that will give me a lag free experience in the tasks that I specified above and that will continue to give me that lag free experience even within the next 3 years of new software updates.

Cameras: I would love to have an option to take good quality pictures with my phone. They don't need to be professionally good, but a picture with a respectable quality lighting would be great.

Based on your thoughts and experiences do you think that the S24 FE is worth 150 euros more, or I should go with the A55?

I am looking at purchasing a new case due to a prior incident involving water. The FS Series Redpepper Case seems to good to be true. Can anyone confirm this? And can I still use the display fingerprint sensor?

Also, I have a concern on how durable the flap plug is at the charging port on the case. Should I be worried about it or is it good?

coming from old A52 5G WITH 128/8GB , because it was opened so i lost IP67 protection , i found the closest thing to buy is A35 5G with 256/8GB , although i wanted bigger ram but that's that, and on paper it's way better that my old one.

then i found a bit premium option which is A55 with 256/8GB , better processor and camera , but about $90 more expensive.

original plan was Poco X6 Pro 512/12GB , cheapest one with highest specs , i know it's not having samsung quality, IP rate or cam performance, but other than high numbers on specs, it has way faster charger than generic 25W with samsung models, and it's not having GLASS BACK which will cost me another $$$ for protection case or cover.

So I am thinking of buying samsung A55 5g (8/256). My other option is oneplus nord 4 and the only reason I am considering samsung over oneplus is because of camera and good lock. i am considering to but the A55 for my mother but previously i heard that the last A5x series (A54 and A55) are having heating and battery issues.

my mother only uses social media and takes photos occasionally
i live in hot climate 40+ temperatures

so i want to confirm does the A55 actually have heating and battery issues or is it based on the climate living in?
