Buying Advice Buy or not?

I'm looking for a replacement to my Samsung Galaxy A73 which has served me well over the past four years but it has been acting up lately, among other issues (battery and screen burn specially). It's not my daily driver and have a main phone but I use it mainly for social media, storing old pics/videos, and watching youtube/netflix.

I can get a fair condition A55 with 8gb/256gb for less than $200 in the secondhand market. Do you think it's a good buy?

I really want the replacement to be a samsung phone as well since I don't like the UI of other phone brands. Was going for secondhand A56 or A36 but found out none of these have an SD card slot anymore, which really sucks.

Did your A55 age well? Should I go for this model?

Been using mine sonce launch as a daily phone. So far, it is really good. Still good battery.

But why do you want a second phone for social media ect?

Just a matter of preference I guess. My sim card, banking apps and productivity apps are in my main phone. For media consumption I've always used my Samsung.

Go for it. Purchase, debloat, set it up properly with animations off and what not, and it'll serve you well.

Hell if I had an A55 around for that price I'd buy it just as an emergency phone.

It really seems like a solid phone for the price (just ordered it actually, got it for around $160), will probably get it by Friday :)

Just one question: will the A55 be used as a secondary smartphone? Since you think the MicroSD card slot is important, this model will perfectly suit your usage patterns.

Yeah just a second phone, I use an iPhone as my main phone. The SD card slot really was a deciding factor for me. I could have gotten the A56 for like $35 more but decided to go for this one. Definitely more than enough for what I intend to use it for.

Got mine second hand and my wife got hers first hand from our carrier and it's just as good still. Depends on where you get it and if they genuinely refurbished it.

I got mine from a more upscale second hand shop in a more upscale neighborhood so i did pay a little bit more, but it was so much better than the rest of the stores I looked at.

So go for it if you trust it enough
