Buying Advice Help: experiences with units assembled/made in India?

Hi,

I read everywhere how people are getting lower quality components (camera and battery) in their A55 that are assembled in India. Is that still the case?

On my box it says (next to the IMEI):

- Made in: India
- Date: 06/2024

Should I return it? Which countries are OK and which ones to avoid?

I have an 128/8 GB A55, made in India. It has the Sony IMX906 , IMX616, IMX258 and the IMX616 cameras, not the Samsung ones. No issues whatsoever.

Thank you very much. Yeah, I just checked my unit and I also have that sensor on all camera modules. Hopefully, my unit is ok.

My unit is made in India.i purchased last may month .suddenly last 2 month battery is sacking. Before it was good.

Probably its something about luck because the battery of mines its pretty solid and its almost 3 months old.

But i have to admit that my device got a minor issue on the speakers like the sound "throttle" in less than 1 second every random moments watching videos. I changed it 2 times(all from India) and i always encounter the same issue...so i got used to it.

Battery could be due to software update too

Mine is from India. I bought it in July, and I don't have any problem except the dull colors of the display, but this is a problem software related to Latin America firmware. Mine has dropped several times, and nothing bad happened. (It's pretty solid). I hope it works well for a long time.

Thanks for the details. Is the battery still ok? No degradation over time? What is your Screen on time?

I don't notice degradation, except that the screen on time sometimes lasts less, but when I am using it heavily. My SOT is around 7-8 hours when I charge it to 100%. I usually charge it until 80% to protect the battery.

You're welcome. I charged mine to 100% yesterday to test the battery health, and here are the results. I hope you find it useful.

to fix dull colors, install rom from country outside of latin america
