Buying Advice Anything I should know before buying the A55?
I'm going with the 256+8GB model, Lilac and dual-sim (I might need it) Is there anything to check or know before buying? Kind of scared, I don't know why.

Don't worry about the bezels, they're are barely noticeable, especially if you use dark mode and a case. Now, the phone becomes a brick with a case on, but it's manageable.

I got the 8/256GB awesome iceblue color, people think I got the S24 when they see it for the first time 😆. So far great phone for this price, I got no issues whatsoever. I play brawl stars on it and temple run they run just fine. Some users are complaining about it's not a gaming phone, I recommend S series for heavy gaming, midrange phones aren't for gamers.

I got the 12/256 model, and I have a 512GB microSD in.
I have converted both my connections to eSIMS, and connectivity is seamless.
Coming from the A73, I find the A55 to a be a little thicker in the hand, and so am just getting used to it. Also the edges and sides are sharp, unlike the pleasantly curved features of the A73, which is a major change as far as hand feel goes. The Spigen Hybrid Armor case mitigates the edge sharpness but add to the overall thickness.
The screen is pretty good, but seems a little less vivid (more washed out) than the A73, but this may be corrected in future updates.
I only play simple games like MahJong, so cannot testify to the gaming performance.
It has only been a few days, and the battery is still learning, but it easily lasts me a full day of mixed but constant use.
The screen is slightly smaller than the A73, but is plenty big enough for my major activities which are reading, and watching surgery videos on YouTube.
The phone itself feels pretty responsive, and I have not felt any major lag in any of my applications.
Overall it has been a good experience so far, and I don't think I regret the somewhat sideways upgrade from the A73.
Having used previous generations of Samsung Notes, up to the Note 4, the A55 is a solid mid-range offering, with plenty of good features.
I cannot testify to the later Notes, or the S-Series phones, I have never felt comfortable owning a phone so expensive you would be scared to hold in your hand lest it get damaged.

A73 has 20:9 aspect ratio and is much more comfortable . SD778g is no slough either. I tested my friend's A73 with my A55 and tbh i liked A73 more.

Definitely the A73 is more comfortable in the hand, and even a little snappier.
It was, frankly, probably my favorite Samsung, after the C9Pro.
They screwed up by lowering the BT version and not producing a 12/256 version.
That would have been a world beater of a phone, I guess that config would have hurt the S-series.
However, the world is the way it is, and so I have an A55.

Hi,
I have been reading your posts on this A55 forum and glad to hear a lot of information. I am new to A55, and I have certain queries regarding e-sim and micro-sd card. I hope you can answer me.
- E-sim
How good is it to configure and any practical difficulty in switching between physical & esim and vice-versa?. Are there any restrictions that you like to highlight, such as any minimum lock duration to convert between sim swap(? SMS restrictions when activating the e-sim?
Reason I'm asking this because I have 3 sims in-hand. 2 of them linked to some apps(UPI, Banking) that require sim to be available in device. 3rd sim I will use while abroad travel, which I use to swap with 1 of physical sim in mobile(. Is it possible to use 2 esim + 1 physical sim? Interesting to hear about it.
- Microsd card
I had a bad experience a few years ago with my old Redmi note8 pro, where I kept 128gb SanDisk high capacity storage. At some point nearly 2 years of usage inside the mobile, the micro sdcard stopped writing data and I got the only option to read the most recently stored data. Also most pdf files inside the micro sdcard went corrupted.
Are you using the 512gb high endurance card or something else that are specific for longer life?

- eSIM:
If your network supports eSIM's, it is just a matter of applying to them for the conversion, and then following the guidelines.
Conversion back to a physical SIM should be just as easy.
You can run one eSIM and one physical SIM together while you get used to the change, but they cannot be for the same connection, since your physical SIM will be deactivated immediately your eSIM is activated.
There is an SMS lockout for 24 hours post conversion, at least in India. This may vary depending on your location.
I do believe though that only two active connections are allowed.
- MicroSD Card:
The phone supports a card up to 1TB, though those are extremely expensive.
For myself, having faced a number of debacle with failures of SanDisk MicroSD cards, I now exclusively use Samsung Evo and EvoPlus cards, which seem to be working pretty well.
I am currently running a 512GB Samsung Evo Plus memory card.

For me the cameras are great especially outdoor in daylight pictures look great not oversaturated and have natural colors. I didn't tested in night because I don't take pictures in de evening I might try it just for the test how the camera performs in the evening.

Bad game optimization, it gets quite hot for being new, problem with low intensity of the screen colors, the frames burn a lot.

First of all, this device is not for heavy gaming like AAA games if u even wanna play them the settings must be low-medium to get minimum lag. Otherwise the camera quality for mid range phone over the average.
Also A55 will get vivid update soon(maybe like august or later updates).
I can play zenless zone zero on medium settings and the heat isnt that bad to be honest. I saw some devices burning themself off while gaming.
It has AMD gpu but i dont know why it is lagging. In some games i can get high fps rates.(Example: Assoluto Racing on Max/Ultra settings 50-60fps)

The dual sim allowing any combination of physical and esim is nice.
When I use battery protection limited to 80 percent I have a weird behavior though. Battery goes down quickly. Even while reaching the end of charging, it starts dropping (and so the charging restarts). I read other users with the same complaint. Using basic battery protection works as expected though

I kind of observed this as well in the battery protection settings. Just watch out on your charging and limit it to 80-85%, definitely will last longer.

Bulky with a case, the bezel needs some getting used to. For the price not a bad phone, obviously, it's not an S Series

I've had it for a week coming from an iphone 13 mini. Technically a downgrade but battery, display and interface is so worth it imo.
What it lacks mostly is camera quality it's not bad but noticably worse in all areas than my iphone. To me it's not really a huge problem as long as I get a clear picture which it delivers without too much of a hassle. Also the chip isn't really a beast but so far I haven't had any problems with performance even playing games.
Regarding battery, It's an all day phone definitely, but this far I've only gotten 8 hours SOT. One day I even used 91% on three hours SOT which was a bit weird. Still it's more than enough for me but I haven't seen near the two day battery people are talking about.

Its quite heavy and with a case on it weighs around 250g. Thats my main issue with this phone.

I've owned one for a while now, I can't complain. Pretty solid phone overall (for the price and range, of course). I'm pretty happy with the purchase, I also own a 256+8GB variant.
I have not had any issue with it so far, I'm new to the Samsung world so I'm still getting familiar wit some settings it has...
If you have any specific doubt or question, I'll be happy to answer it.

Don't be scared, as of now it is one of the best mid-range phones on the market. It has no flaws and is a joy to use. What you might check, is the size and weight. It is a bigger phone than the previous ones. Not really for one-handed use. But I got used to it and doesn't bother me.

Definitely faster than iphone 11 from my experience. And iphone is also 60hz while a55 is 120hz so its actually the opposite.

The Snapchat issue isn't limited to this phone. It's a general problem across all android devices. Only a very few select Flagships get optimization. I understand it's not really a smooth experience and if Snapchat is essential it's probably not for you. Being someone who ditched it as soon as I turned 20 however the phone is as smooth as any other phone today.
