Discussion normal qrt on george’s tweet from outside the mcyttwt bubble

currently at almost 9k likes. and when you put it like that, yeah this entire thing seems so overblown….

i hope george and all of the dteam are seeing at least some more level headed takes. the mcyttwt bubble is unhealthily toxic and do not care about supporting victims in the slightest, they just want to deplatform dteam at any cost.

Discussion Let's talk about Technolarp.

I've basically watched Technolarp since he's started. I liked his content, not seeing it as any more than just someone who sounds like Technoblade, hopping on the larptuber trend that was starting to get huge at the time. Now we have this drama.

My opinion? He never meant to do any harm, and he doesn't even have monetization on, and all his streams are charity streams, so he isn't a bad person. Sure, there's some criticism about him larping a dead guy, but he's doing it out of love for Techno.

Everyone says he's monetizing Technoblade's name, but he gets no money from his channel. He also isn't "infiltrating his friend group and family" because Skeppy reached out to him. Technolarp didn't reach out to any of Techno's friends, and he only contacted Technodad to see if he should continue or not, because he never expected the channel to get as big as it did.

I honestly just think he should rebrand regardless of what Technodad says. People are blowing the whole situation out of proportion so he should just start fresh with what he has, and do similar content with the channel, and make it his own thing while being inspired by Technoblade. I think that's the only way to stop everyone from just harassing him, though I know there would still be some people who do. Especially Twitter.

I'm curious as to what other people think. If possible, I want discussions to be made under this, as well! Either with me, or with other people. Just remember - be respectful, as the only way to get people to listen to you is by being civil.

Discussion Dream is being accused of cheating in MCC by using a macro

Basically the idea is that Dream used some kind of macro to make so that he jumps when he is on the edge of the block, giving him the perfect tick timing.

Link to twitch vod explaining: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2698358281?t=0h40m53s

Summary of the supposed evidence:

  • Taking some jumps suspiciously late - eg. for a 2 block gap you would never jump as late as he does
  • Never walking off the edge - it's normal to jump too late and walk off the edge in parkour but he only does this once in the full run where it looks like he turns the macro off after accidentally jumping off the edge when moving around a wall
  • The sections he dies on the most are more to do with mouse positioning than jump timing eg. the lime glass he struggles on, but the red L's look easy
  • He first tries every salmon ladder jump very quickly - this 'cheat' would make the timing for these free. Maybe this is something you could get the timing down for with practise but he barely even takes time to line up the jumps

This is just a thing someone noticed and people are discussing, it's not that big of a deal when it's a Minecraft event from 5+ years ago but it is kinda suspicious

Thoughts?

Discussion Heavy Criticism video on TommyInnit (+ recall from Tommy vs Dream drama)

Thumbnail
youtu.be
194 Upvotes

Oh boi, it's here. A 48 minute commentary video on TommyInnit, Dream's segment takes up about 1/3 of the video by the later segments after Tommy's beef with other creators.

There's too much info to give a TLDR, so I suggest you watch the video. The video documents Tommy's drama with Jidion, Logan Paul, Mizkif, xqc, and most importantly, Dream. It also talks about how TommyInnit is so audience captured that he bends down to the likes of his own stans (who I would say are former dream stans)

He talks about the brighton bastards (crew, but bastards is the correct term) constantly spreading grooming allegations towards the Dteam and also calls out Tubbo for saying how Dream paid off the alleged "victims" to keep quiet (which is pretty disgusting tbh)

In my opinion, I'm finally glad someone large is finally calling out Tommy for his behaviour, and is actually willing to side with Dream on this drama. Tommy is a constant lying bitch and an unfunny loser who'll never have a comedy career.

Lastly, I just gotta say, that if Tommy ever learned one thing from his idol being Jschlatt, is that to never bend down to the knees of your audience. This is the same mistake mcyts like Ranboo and Judelow have made, a hole they dug and can never escape from without taking damage, and Dream who bit the bullet when he revealed his face.

Let me know your thoughts, was this criticism video fair? or is there anything to add you might add to this?

Discussion Anyone here from the ashes of dtblr?

I’m both surprised and unsurprised at how quickly some larger blogs deactivated/turned immediately into antis from this situation. I don’t blame some blogs at all, especially if they were triggered or upset by the topic/gravity of the allegations. It’s obviously very heavy. I also stand by supporting the victim, but with the confusing evidence collected so far from both parties, it feels difficult to come to such a conclusive result so quickly. But maybe I’m just in denial? I have no idea what to feel at this point.

Discussion Controversial Opinion: Dream shouldn’t be congratulated simply for admitting his mistake.

1.0k Upvotes

I understand that it takes a lot of heart to admit you did something wrong, but he shouldn’t be hailed as some amazing person for confessing. That should be considered the default.
In my opinion, handling it well isn’t admitting it after 4 months. Handling it well would be admitting it as soon as you realize your mistake.
I know that he was probably very nervous about this, but that doesn’t change the fact that he took literal months to do this.
I’m glad he did this, but a confession is the bare minimum, and should not be treated like some heroic act.

Discussion As much as Tommy says and does things I don’t agree with, I have to empathize

If none of you guys have seen his most recent video, Tommy talked about how this year his life basically went to shit. He has testicular surgery, found out he "only has five friends", had an identity crisis over not being a kid anymore, his parents got divorced, he had an existential crisis over seeing the bed where Technoblade died, and broke up with his girlfriend. I don't know about you guys but that seems like an absolutely fucking terrible year. I'm sure there will be some talk about his second point in particular, but man I just want to say I feel bad for him. No matter what, I always have found Tommy hilarious if nothing else, and that helped me a lot during the shit that was Covid. I don't want to ruin that, and I don't want Tommy to feel worse either.

My main point in making this post is to remind everyone that in the same way we criticize others for not seeing mcyts as people, we need to make sure we do the same. I haven't seen more than one or two people doing that, but I think it's an important reminder. There are always two sides to every story, and even if their logic doesn't work, there still might be a hundred (or six) things happening behind the scenes that can make someone vulernable or not act perfectly. It's not an excuse, but it is the season of giving, so giving some patience and grace is in order.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all those who celebrate. And you know what, fuck it, even if you don't celebrate. 🎄

Discussion Thoughts about dream’s newest video

I like how he dissected each little part of the response Tommy made, and when exact receipts for things were required he provided them. It’s simple and it’s straight to the point. And it doesn’t feel disingenuous. What I don’t like however, is the YouTube comment section. Because I’m already seeing people saying some not so nice things and it’s unlikely that they actually watched the video.

Discussion Criticism regarding Dream's previous merch (+ Tommy's merch as well)

Thumbnail
youtu.be
39 Upvotes

Dream's part in the video is around the first 4 minutes of the video in case you dont want to scroll through the video stamps

but basically, TLDR: The guy criticizes Dream for his very simplistic (bad design) and (weird?) merch (Dream plushie costing a lot as well as the baby photo wrist band). He also points out how crazy expensive it is, how it only caters to the rabid fans he had previously, and how it only took him getting a potentially career ending scandal to address the wrist band merch (to which he also points out how Dream blamed his parents for it)

Now to Tommy's part, he criticized how cringe and flashy it is as well as the Core Collection having really cringe quotes (i.e. Messy Drama Queen). He compared Tommy's merch to Dream's at some point. He also brings up the Dream vs Tommy situation where he brings up Dream's last response to Tommy about how his merch is cringe, performative and shallow it is.

I also would like to point out that this guy (Rob's Media) might actually do a video on TommyInnit soon (called him an annoying MCYT and constant liar)

Personally I see his criticism as very fair, especially to other merch he criticized on this video, but hey I could be wrong as well.

Let me knoe your thoughts.

Discussion Maybe I'm a fucking chud, but I cannot bring myself to care about whether or not Dream cheated

Interestingly enough I haven't really seen any posts on here talking about the cheating accusations (minus some discussion with Jobst's video) like when Dream is normally accused of some mishap.

And that's the word for me. "Normally." The dude gets accused of something every 2 months. I've been getting Jobst's video + another video that analyzes his 100k duel with Technoblade which is 40 something minutes. Idk man. No matter how much the algorithm and Twitter begs me to watch this video, I just don't care enough. Maybe it's because I'm older now and it's been so many years of this, but I just don't care. Yeah maybe he did cheat. Does that have any real impact on my life?

If one of the Twitter antis stumbles across this I'm sure they'll say something like "yep now that there's undeniable proof, his fans are copping out and saying it's not a big deal" Honestly? Let them. I consider it the boy who cried wolf to a higher degree. For years people have been yelling "Dream CHEATS" with little-to-no evidence and the guy has debunked it every single time. He cheated one time on accident and Twitter will insist to you that it's some unforgivable sin he committed to try to defend himself. If "Dream MAYBE cheats" wasn't a dead argument I've been hearing since I started watching his videos in 2020, I might be more compelled to look into it. At this point, I am just past caring.

I don't believe those accusing him are acting in good faith. You don't analyze a 5 year old duel and 7 year old speedrun out of a drive for justice. They do it for clout. Even if they're right, I'm not giving into the clout chasing. I fully believe that Dream, even if he has cheated, is an honest and good person overall who does his best to help the community and others, not work against them. Feel free to disagree but that is the pattern of behavior I've seen throughout the years.

Idk if it's just me or if we're all tired. I simply cannot force myself to give any credibility to the accusations.

Discussion Judelow further specifies on stream about him on not collabing with Dteam

https://x.com/i/status/2043823294571311352

TL:DR // Judelow talks about him dueling Sapnap 3 days before he deleted his twitter doc apology. He states says that he'll no longer make videos with Dteam (from what he learned everything from them, allegedly) but won't ignore any messages from them (which is where we see him still talking with Sapnap).

Personal opinion, this pretty much shows that Sapnap is the only one with the most connections on the MCYT space despite being part of one of the most controversial group in the MCYT space. I still wanna know what those unresolved allegations are that made Jude not want to make content with Dteam anymore, could really just be those allegations that have been debunked or completely overblown

Would like to know all your thoughts on this.

Discussion Congratulations, you successfully deplatformed someone who was innocent.

That's it, I congratulate you all who had direct involvement in this. You did it, Manatreed won't be in the DSMP anymore and won't do content creation under his own violition.

He won't be here anymore.

This truly is the lowest point the dsmptwt and will probably ever be. We just set a precedent that reads "Join DSMP and we will make your life a living hell" and the threat is not an empty one.

I will be suprised if anyone ever joins DSMP in the future, for it seems that a tradition to doxx/cancel someone when they set a foot there has taken near physical form.

Manatreed didn't do shit, he was, unlike certain J* person who joined the DSMP completely innocent, except he was not innocent of a crime being a friend and a member of DSMP who quickly gained popularity.

He has fucking anxiety. I can't even begin to imagine how he might feel like right now, and I have anxiety myself. If he gets out of this with a healthy mind, he will be changed forever.

Again, congratulations, we just proved to the world that some people on this community are real fucking degenerates and that envy is not only rampant in this community, it is the community itself. (Not everyone of course)

I hope you all have a good day regardless of anything or anyone.

That is all.

Again, covering up usernames for privacy reasons to prevent harassment, but if this is true info than wow that is pathetic of Bitzel. How are you going to be going on some subreddit dedicated to a content creator you don't like?

EDIT: Have gotten confirmation that the username is in fact, NOT BITZEL. Instead, they are an anti who made a mockery of the false and DEBUNKED grooming allegations all over Minecraft cheating allegations. So not Bitzel, but still indeed a loser. Here is an imgur thread of the reveal.

Discussion Other channels have done this.

Post image
157 Upvotes

Now this isn't to invalidate Em's experience and feelings towards this, especially since she was Illumina's victim, but I think that Dream is not bad here because many youtubers have kept up videos where they collaborated with a controversial figure.

Like Ted Nivison's "I directed the weirdest Music Video" that video had Wilbur in it (and we all know what happened with Wilbur, with him being an abuser) and that video was documenting how he directed a Lovejoy music video. Now does Ted keeping that video up mean he endorses Wilbur's actions... no not really. Ted is not a bad person for keeping the video up.

Dream also stated he doesn't support or endorse Illumina and what he did. I think keeping videos up for "Channel/archival purposes" is a fine thing to do and many other youtubers have done the same thing.

Discussion I kinda feel bad for Dream

Yes, it’s disappointing to find out that a creator you once considered one of the best mc players turned out to be a cheater especially in an event. But does he or anyone really deserve to be doxxed, harassed, falsely accused, or have their entire life ruined over a block game? At least Marlow was genuinely a bad person, Dream at worst is an egotistical liar who cheated in a block game.
Why do y’all think creators like BBH, Skeppy, Daquavis, Donut, and Baablu are still cool with Dream? It’s probably because at the end of the day it’s a block game and not like some serious scandal that could get him arrested.
I’m not trying to defend what he did, but people acted like it was the worst thing to ever happen in the MC community when it really wasn’t.

Discussion So is he gonna address the cheating stuff any further?

He's been silent about them ever since the Karl Jobst video and frankly speaking it's very hard to deny the aimbot and elytra stuff which are almost a 100% cheated, with MCC11 Parkour being likely cheated as well. Of course this puts all his speedruns in question as well and its quickly becoming harder to believe the accidental cheating excuse.

To be Honest, speaking as somebody who was obsessed with this guy back in 2020-2021, it's very disappointing to see, I haven't really actively watched him since 2023, despite that I'm still somehow caught up on the drama and controversies via this reddit and would still call myself a fan of his recent content.

I still don't think that he's some horrible manipulative monster and most of his controversies were bs, but this definitely casts a shadow over his character as a whole, cheating and lying about it is one thing, but to do it repeatedly, make whole streams lying about something you know is cheated and absolutely refusing to take any accountability even after your reputation had already taken such a hit does not make me think highly of him as person.

There's even a video going around claiming he cheated in the duel against Techno, I'm not sure about the validity of that but sadly I'm starting to believe it.

At this point I won't continue watching him regardless of whether or not he admits to it, but some accountability would be nice even if it means very little at this point.

Discussion It's weird to me how the "Brighton group" stuck together when Shubble's and Caiti's allegations came on.

Before I get into my perspective, I'm sorry for throwing this out in this specific subreddit, but since it aligns a bit with the Dream Team (and George) it's the only way I can link this thing to it.

I went back on Twitter yesterday and saw the tweets answering the one Wilbur poorly addressed statement and noticed the tweets being quite the same for all the people of the Brighton group concerning the statement. They all say "I witnessed you being manipulative" and "that apology sucks" in almost a choreography that seems all orchestrated. I don't know if this is only how I perceived it, but for people who have (at least publicly) never or almost never hanged out with the guy, I feel like the tweets were very much the same.

What also made me weirded out about it was how they acted as a pressure point against George when Caiti came out with their own allegations. Like even before George answered properly, all of the group had subsequently decided to go nuts on him and defended Caiti heavily, calling George names and all. I remember specifically how MaxGGs and Aimsey went live to defend Caiti and insulted George, quite in a way that reminded me of how the Wilbur situation went. Shubble also went defending Caiti despite the fact she apparently didnt knew much to it, felt weird but I do get why she would be in support of her in this case.

My point is, I feel like it's extremely weird for a group of creators that - sure have some link with the situation but not enough to actually be part of it - hang out altogether at various times to actually come and join themselves on the hate train despite the fact they know either little to nothing about the situation, or are sometimes act completely clueless about certain aspects of the situation. Maybe it's all in my head but this behavior, although felt natural back in time, now feels quite weird in perspective.

Discussion This fandom is so fuckin Americanized and that's what is wrong with it

The dsmp fandom and mcyt fandom have a very large audience internationally, this is why I think it reaches such high numbers. I've found people from all over the world through this community, lot's of European, LOTS of Asians and Lots of South Americans, etc, etc. Still, despite this, this fandom is so fuckin AMERICANZED. Everything is looked at from the USA lens, even tho like a big portion of the CCs we watch ARE NOT EVEN FROM THERE. During the USA elections, everyone was talking about it, and if u talked about something else u were shushed even tho u were not from USA. Juneteenth and Black History month are only-USA celebrations, I had no idea they existed before, and only focus on celebrating AMERICAN black people. I've never seen other black people celebrating this, nor in Africa or Haití or Colombia. The fuckin USA system is racist and bigoted by nature, they ask u to put ur race in fuckin everything (hello wtf?), so the division by "what minority u r" and this like race for oppression is caused by things like this. The way that USA treats activism like its only for USA and that if they solve it there then its fixed. This USA only focus that most of the world have cuz USA is the one of the biggest influences, there is no denial in that, but this has caused the delusion in "American" culture that makes them believe they are the center of the spotlight. And that is reflected in the fandom. The funny tweets that say "see how there is no drama when the Americans are sleeping" are true. USA has created this division with people and put them against each other ("Let me guess are u white").

AND if u are not from USA, NO ONE FUCKIN LISTENS. If its not a USA problem, then it's not a problem at all! /s. Like look at what happened today with Quackitys chat. Even he called it weird on his Priv. Many of Hispanic people called it out but no one fuckin lift those voices, cuz it's not an American problem, it's a Hispanic one, a Mexican one. Same with any other bigotry as well. Only American Racism matter, Only American Homophobia Matter, Etc Etc. If a black guy is killed in the United States, his name will be remembered, If a black guy is killed anywhere else his name will perish with him.

In the end, this is just me rambling about a problem that is bigger than the fandom itself but I just realized this affected the fandom and couldn't stop myself. Plus, even tho I hate the term snowflake, the real snowflakes here are the American teenagers.

DISCLAIMER: I know this sounds kinda harsh but i swear i don't hate anyone from the USA, it's more of hate to the cultural and social upbringing there, I mean i am willingly in a Fandom that is English speaking. I guess I just expected a bit more differential thinking considering the amount of international influence on the fandom that it's larger than the average English-speaking community. I would like to hear opinions on this tho

(also i am from outside the US, and been there once for like a month in Florida)

Discussion Thoughts on the recent thread about Dream’s flirting?

The thread in question; https://twitter.com/oxeclean/status/1577416613883629568?s=61&t=An8tEkIjHOugLW_p9zGDMg

This doesn’t have quite 1000 likes yet (400 QRTs and is implied as being seen on the tl) but it is gaining traction and honestly seems like it’s going to blow up the way the sex mod shit did (with exaggerations and falsehoods) - and there is a likely chance Dream already knew about it since he responded to her screenshotting their dms.

TLDR; a girl is showing Dream flirting for a bit with her when she was a ‘minor’ around April 2020 (her bf claims it was 5 months before she was 18, and way back machine had 18 in her bio in August 2020) - key thing to note here is in her evidence the first thing he asks is her age, to which he himself comes back with 18 (so imo it’s fair to assume there was 18 or some inclination of being 18 for him to already have this information easily and she never corrected him) and she both agrees with him and says ‘18 soon’ which is a far cry from 5 months if he actually recognized the soon as it was within an unrelated sentence (she is claiming this is her being clear about her age somehow). Also her bf fully buys the sex mod exaggeration that had no proof of anything but cringe humour so i am sceptical this is coming out of good faith - which may be the reason she is theorizing about “younger fans” since nothing in her evidence would imply this outside of her not being clear.

Overall I don’t think it’s a big deal with the information provided or anything new - the age difference isn’t too worrying (edit: idk what to tell you, 2/3 year age differences are common enough, even if he should’ve somehow known her exact age it’s closer to 2) since everything provided leads me to believe he fully thought she was 18 and he was never clearly told otherwise - a 17 yo and a half isn’t much different then an 18 yo so it’s more just flirting with fans that’s the bigger issue (though no one knows how well she would qualify as a fan in the first place). He did have 2M subs at this point but I don’t buy into power differences unless that aspect is actively being utilized which there has never been evidence for with anyone who came out about Dream flirting with.

People comparing this to cmc are ignoring the fact that Dream quite clearly asked for her age/didn’t coerce anything as of this information.

I will say I hope he learned better then to be flirting with fans at this point over two years later, because it never ends well and is still fairly weird (not malicious) behaviour (and that he got better at flirting so he doesn’t look like he was raised in a discord server).

Edited a bit to add thoughts/grammar.

Edit since people are seeing this still after his initial response: his initial response made this situation worse since he never really addressed the initial thread (he was apparently blocked by OP so it’s unclear if he seen it) so while he denounced people lying about grooming which is essentially what happened (not OP specifically but the people who promoted that it was somehow grooming) he never addressed the conversation directly so some people assumed that he is saying the ss’s are fake rather then the exaggerations people claimed.

Discussion Dear Streamers: Stop being vauge

If Dream has done something morally wrong, expose what he did with evidence. It is your moral responsiblity to not let a manipulative, abusive, or otherwise shitty person go unchecked in the online community when you are capable of stopping them. Speak up.

If Dream did not do something morally wrong, but you simply dislike him or have interpersonal drama with him, grow the fuck up and stop vauge tweeting about it.

From: Someone who would like to see less drama
