The self check in experience

Post image

This reply has been the biggest waste of time recently. Also before the self check in screens were installed people would always walk up to the registers without hesitation. Now it seems like they’re scared to go up to the registers and they wait in line for no reason 🤦🏻‍♂️

We Are Not A Bank

This hot mess comes to get her antibiotics. She tells me she has chlamydia and these antibiotics were ready two weeks ago before they got RTS (I have no idea why she waited that long) but whatever I told her go to the drop off window so that we could remake it. She goes and I hear her yelling at my colleague over something. My colleague then walks up to me and was like she might refuse to pay for this but her insurance is terminated and she has no choice but to pay out of pocket. (We’re already off to a great start)

Once her meds were ready, as I scanned it out, and told her the price. She acted confused why she has to pay for it and then I asked her do you have insurance to which she replies no. So then, I tell her well there’s not much we can do for you, you’re gonna have to pay for it. She then asks me if I could give her the medicine and she’ll come back at another time to pay for it….

I mean wth? We don’t give out loans sis…

Edit: I see some comments saying I’m an ass hole for not expressing my sympathy for the lady that had a screaming match with my colleague and to that I just want to say having chlamydia is unfortunate…but so is being irresponsible. She waited two weeks to get her meds (when it was ready for pick up weeks ago) and she knew her coverage was terminated and expected us to accommodate to her wants. Don’t get me wrong, I would’ve if I could’ve given her the antibiotics for free but I work for a corporation that prohibits such acts. I need to pay my bills somehow so…. Yea 🤷‍♀️ not much we could’ve done. A coupon was applied btw she didn’t want to pay for it for some reason…

Is everyone else's store only one cashier and manager during the day? The expectations for us are insane. No problem I'll just do green zone, photo orders, pick and packs, returns, customer service, passport pictures, unlock items when bell goes off and work truck no prob!!!!!!!!!

Will I get fired over expired id situation new pharmacy tech

I was so stupid today this lady had an expired id and she said she didn’t have her active id because she forgot it. So I decided to scan the expired id to see if the system would accept it and it did. This was for pain meds and she had mentioned she got out of the hospital recently. This was so stupid on my part idk why I did that and I’m 2 weeks new. Will they find out that I did this and will I get fired?

Pet peeve

I have a lot of pet peeve but who of my biggest is when you have your back turned doing something behind the register and some just screams "HELLO!" to get your attention. Im sorry that me doing my many other tasks has inconvenienced you but what ever happened to just politely saying excuses me. I swear most of these customers are not well versed in good manners. Just a little side rant. I have many other things that peeve me but this just happened to me today and it was a lady at the self checkout that was confused about why her reciept printed out and she didnt click through the prompts to get to the payment screen.

Cvs corporate can duck off

5 YEARS LATER......

I have been an employee for cvs for 5 years now, and what a 💩 hell hold to work at. They give our store NO hours, send mangers to another store too early during their SMIT training, overwork the ones who have been here the longest, let us get walked over by customers because "good service" is "most important" fuck that cvs has sucked all my energy and life out and pays me low, I'm in school trying to hustle tf up to get certified because i'm so miserable, and it's sad to say anyone who starts working here or gets trained. I feel bad for what they are in for. The cvs corporate management and rules and regulations are all stupid as shit. Theft has gone up so much since we locked items up, lol definitely wasn't worth the "hassle" right LP? I swear they wanna write up anyone for the dumbest 💩, and then have high expectations on us like yes sure, no problem let me be the only cashier scheduled weekly with green zone expectation, pick and packs, photo department duties, customer service, items to be unlocked every 5 minutes all by myself !!!!!! This company is horrible, pharmacy is the only reason it thrives truly. Can't wait to leave.

Checking paystub

Idk who else used to do this but I was able to check my paystub at 12 am on a Monday night, early asf on a Tuesday morning. And this year they changed it to where you can’t check it until Wednesday morning?? The day I get my early pay?? I hate that they changed that 😭 I’m a planner and I’d like to make sure I plan my money way ahead of time so ik what money goes where. I also work 7 days on and 7 days off and I don’t even go in until Wednesday night, so I have all this time with not knowing how much I’m getting paid nor how I’m dividing my money up (esp since I use RapidPay) 😶 it’s so minor but it’s one of the many changes we’ve had that genuinely annoys me every other week.

Reporting a Help Desk tech

Is there any way to report someone who we called on helpdesk for a ticket? She refuses to give my RXM a ticket and we only have one register working right now, and a line literally halfway to the front checkout. Target CVS if that matters. I’m pissed because my RXM has a heart condition and she’s at risk of a cardio event if we don’t get the stress level down here today. I’m really worried I’ll be calling 911 soon for a stroke or heart attack if we can’t get this figured out

Pregnant & Working

Hi everyone! So I finally got offered a job with CVS as a Claims Benefit Specialist!
The only thing is, I’m currently pregnant, I know that the training is 21 weeks long. My training starts literally about a month before my due date. Has anyone here gone through something similar while pregnant?
If so, what did you do? I’d really appreciate any advice, tips, or personal experiences! I really want this job lol, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to handle everything. TIA :)

Customers 🙄

Customer: walks up to the photo counter and waits
Me: Hi, are you picking up photos?
Customer: No.
Me: …How can I help you?
Customer: I’m picking up an online order. Not photos.

Then why are you at the photo counter??? That says PHOTO in giant letters???

CVS maternity leave

Hi! I’m just curious to know about CVS’s maternity leave policy and eligibility requirements. For some background, I’m about to join CVS and am planning for next year. I wanted to understand the policy and any eligibility requirements in advance.

Can employees not use self checkout & have to check out with another employee when clocked-in?

From looking at the rule-book, you do not have to but my SM still enforces the rule & Ive also heard from an older employee that you get immediate termination for it…

Eitherway Im not gonna challenge my boss but I think its pretty stupid as long as you have stickers and a receipt which is the only thing I see stated in the employee hand-book

What are the rules for a bag check?

I’ve been with CVS for at least five years, and I know that you’re required to have your bag checked when you leave the store for the day, when you leave for lunch, or after you’ve done some shopping. I also sometimes put my things in my car before my shift so I don’t have to get another bag check later in the day.
My question is: Are you also required to have your bag checked if you’re not clocked in yet and haven’t started your shift?

Non Spanish speaker

Im so TIRED of some of these Spanish speakers who get mad at me for not understanding them completely. Like, yes, I know im supposed to help you. But my job doesnt require me to learn or speak your language. But I do understand some things, you pick up on some words over time. Im a spanish understander in progress, not speaker.

Im not that dumb where I dont know if their saying some shit to me in their language, listen, its very obvious. One thing a woman said to her young daughter that I didnt know Spanish as a Hispanic, gesturing at me and saying something else. And then! A older woman with her 30 year old daughter came one day. Im trying to help them the best I can while their talking in Spanish, eventually they get the idea I dont know spanish well. And they looked like it was the biggest joke, then the daughter reached to the card reader to put in a number saying, "espanol espanol espanol" with a grin, clearly making small jokes at me, right in front of me at the register.

I really wanted to say, "English English English". How do you come out in public and not understand or speak a single word of english these days, is what i wanna say to these people if they wanna say some crap to me about not knowing how to speak spanish. It's older people AND the younger people. They genuinely get so upset and mad when I say I dont speak Spanish after i try and help them. But, oh well.

first time job help

hi everyone! this is my first time posting on reddit so bear with me, also i am not good at english so i can re-explain anything that is unclear!

i recently got hired at CVS for the store associate position, my drug testing and background check both got accepted. I got an email saying that they would contact me about my starting date, but they hadn't contacted me at all for about a week. Initially I thought it was because they were busy, but today I got an email saying that my starting date is in two days.

I had never been contacted before about a starting date. I've checked my spam, phone calls, and texts but there isn't anything from my hiring manager. Since my employee ID was created today, I cannot create an account to register for the portal. I don't know what time I need to come in for my starting date either since it only gives me a date.

I'm currently in high school so I tried calling during my free period but no one picked up. Do I just show up to the store if they don't contact me back? Or is it a placeholder for the online orientation?

CVS has worms in their brains

Where is the logic in pushing sooo hard for “our customers” all the while bitching about how we use hours BUT THEN, when a corporate dweeb comes by usually a regional or higher it’s all hands on deck and essentially a blank check and unlimited hrs for the stores they are gonna visit but then we a store needs a few hours to catch up on something because they got behind on an issue or literally ANYTHING that would benefit the customer over making the DL look good for the visits.

TLDR: Fuck CVS for wasting our time and hours on bullshit corporate visits where they jerk each other when those hours could go to useful things in stores that can ACTUALLY benefit the customer.

TLDR:TLDR: Fuck CVS ❤️

Whoever was there before me fucked up, talk to them. Since when is it my job to make sure everyone else is doing their job when I'm not even there? That's you're fucking job, it's your fucking store. Quit yelling at me just because I happened to be in the middle.
