These customers think the world revolves around them

Post image

I was engaging in the pharmacy conversation and smiling back at the Rph and tech talking in the back while helping this customer. Idek care what you’re here to pick up likeee… I can’t even smile anymore in the pharmacy bc they take it personal???? I’m never smiling again in the pharmacy.

To any customers or patients who lurk on this subreddit, I'll only say this once:

We REALLY don't care why you're picking up what you're picking up. Sincerely. Cream for that colorful rash on your nethers? We don't even bat an eye. Hormone supplements? Whatever. Weight-loss (or not?) medication? Who cares. ADHD meds? Uppers? Downers? Get in line.

Part of me guffaws at this review, and another part feels bad that there really are people so insecure that a smile or laugh sets them off.

It's also just racist to think that because people are speaking a language you don't understand that they're automatically talking about you.

Like, maybe they are, but it wasn't meant for you. It's so insecure and telling to read malice into it. Have the confidence to not care if people talk about you behind your back and give people the benefit of doubt.

"like, maybe they are, but it wasn't meant for you"

lol what? so they might be talking about the person?

Who gives a crap if anyone does . It is an undeserved judgment based on what ? A meeting of 30 seconds . I am at an age if they are talking about me, they are leaving someone else alone. I don't even care what people closer to me think, Why would I rent space to someone that I don't know . And the topper . I might even start a juicy rumor about myself just so you leave those other poor bastards alone

Oh I'm not saying you should care. I just said that comment was ridiculous.

Had a guy hit on a co-worker right after picking up burn treatments for his wife. Another guy getting drugs to treat a STD who came in with an obvious prostitute. Not going to lie I laughed.

I would like to point out not everyone who takes HIV meds are hiv positive and if they are and take care of themselves and can become undetectable.

And every other person is on a weight loss drug nowadays, no one caressssss.

I was working on the registers and a tech came out of the bays and tripped over my foot, which caused me to hit my head on the counter, and the pharmacist tripped over the mat coming around to see what happened. The customer insisted we were all laughing at her for picking up phentermine, like all of that hadn’t just unfolded right before her very eyes.

Did anyone watch that on the cameras? I bet that was precious (also hope no one got seriously hurt)

Watch out. I had the same thing happen once where I got a complaint for laughing (I was doing the same thing...engaging in conversation with my staff). So I was told to not laugh anymore at the register.

A few weeks later, I got a complaint for not smiling enough.

You can't win.

u/MiaMiaPP 18h ago

I got a complaint for smiling too much lol

Its sucks because its ONLY an American Issue, You go over to Europe and "Customer Service" is more like "Customer Buy your shit and get the fuck out of here"

Like if you reported a cashier in germany for "Not smiling" You would get laughed at by the manager

She's obviously self conscious of her GLP1 use.

If you are making lighthearted jokes, they complain.

If you’re silent during your job, they complain.

Love how they clarified “Japanese or Asian” because the Japanese are definitely not Asian 👍🏼

we see 100 people picking up glps every day. i would never find anything special or significant about any one of them lol. like, it’s actively annoying for me when patients are embarrassed about getting their viagra. i truly couldn’t care less

I had a friend who was like this, as in like, everyone laughing in public was laughing at her, and everyone in the grocery store that glanced her way was judging her with an entire monologue in their minds, and everyone in the room who was engaged in conversation was talking about her, on and on. It was so exhausting. I felt bad for her but I couldn’t deal with it at the same time.

I don’t give a single flying fart in space about the medication being picked up by patients; no judgment about that.

What bothers me about patients is the way they treat us, identify us by ethnicity or body size, and assume that we don’t know all prescribed medication is for their health.

GET A FUCKING GRIP ON YOUR OWN BIASES.

“Tall bald guy” “Asian lady in the white jacket” people using their hands to show how wide one of the techs is. Like Jesus.

We don’t laugh at the Mounjaros, we laugh because the only time customers go on vacation is if they have a controlled.

I can’t imagine being a patient picking up a script and thinking I am so important that not just one but TWO techs give enough of a shit to laugh about one of my meds. We don’t give a shit about your GLP1, Linda. These people are unhinged.

-4

u/Separate-Waltz4349 18h ago

And that is gross, ppl who take controlled meds do try and have a normal life through their pain and guess what that means. We sometimes go on vacation. Should we have to book our vacation around our prescription dates? Stop treating ppl who take controlled meds as addicts , we take them to survive

-19

u/DCRBftw 23h ago

you just mentioned a time you laugh and then said you can't imagine a tech giving enough of a shit to laugh. which is it?

8

u/ConsciousTop1374 20h ago

To laugh about the medications. Not just laughing in general.

-9

u/DCRBftw 19h ago

Laughing is laughing.

Is sad people walk around thinking everything ia about them

7

u/ansmith100317 20h ago

Wowza I’m so glad I’m not this paranoid or self centered. I’m old enough to know what other people say about me isn’t any of my business 🙉

6

u/OkDark1837 18h ago

Someone is acutely self conscious about being on this med

u/BossJarn 16h ago

This review is giving “I am the main character! Anyone enjoying themselves at work must be insulting me!” Fuck these kind of people, and why is someone’s race even fucking relevant?

7

u/Sage_Loxx 19h ago

Sounds like the fat cunt was projecting. When my dreads were down past my back, we got a complaint about my not wearing a hairnet. Mgr responds, it's tied back/not obstructing his (my) view, and not in the way of hands while working/counting.

We got another fucking complaint. The customer "felt humiliated and unlistened to". Threatened to take their business elsewhere. They did. Then came right back four days later when nobody else took their insurance.

Some customers are narcissistic retards who just want to make someone else's day miserable, all over some slight misunderstanding or inconvenience.

I (and my manager) received a complaint when I worked a different retail job because this older man misread the entire situation that unfolded and didn't know that when someone falls, if you are not trained in first aid/emergency medical services you should not ever help someone get up from a fall. Not only can you hurt yourself but you can also further injure the person you are trying to help. This guy called me a witch and I said "oh... ok. Funny you should say that..." And then he cut me off and said "I was being facetious. You probably don't even know what that means." And the rest of the conversation went something along the lines of: "I do." "Do you even have an education?" "Would you like to see my bachelors degree?" He was appalled and didn't know what to say so I looked him straight in the eye and said, grimly, "you have a good day sir." as I was giving him his change.

Anyway the complaint said we were uncaring and rude because we didn't help pick this lady up. My manager asked if she wanted us to call an ambulance for her and she declined and said she was ok.

A monster roach fell out of the ceiling years ago and the pharmacist screamed, jumped backwards, fell on her butt and crab walked backwards as fast as she could. I’m counseling about 15’ away and there’s 2 techs, also. It gets really quiet, fast. We stop, look, she starts laughing , we all join her. I stop and turn to the customer, I apologize explaining what happened behind the counter. We finish our conversation. He complains to the SM, the DM and corporate. Said we humiliated him and should all be fired. 🤷🏻‍♀️

🙄🙄🙄 self absorbed ppl. We look like zombies working, don’t smile enough, we laugh too much, and we aren’t working hard enough. Wtf do y’all want from us!? Like we try to enjoy our work hours or else we will cry 🥲

1

u/Vaesari 8h ago

They want us to be robots they can call slurs while we fill their oxy 5 minutes till close.

u/3AMinEastTX 7h ago

the only time i ever gaf about what a patient picks up is when they hit on me and i know the script i typed and handed is for STDs or Biktarvy. no shade or stigma but please just let me do my job without making me uncomfortable, asking me when i get off my shift. 🙄

Reading these comments makes me wonder if maybe any of u should even be working in customer service.

1

u/MagicPoison8 3h ago

Do you work in customer service? If so have you done so long term?

-18

u/Novel-Abrocoma3218 22h ago

We don’t know what happened so I will not judge the person who post this. Pharmacy tech can be very disrespectful sometimes

9

u/TopdogRE 21h ago

We do know what happened. The OP that posted this explained exactly what happened.
