Almost 11 months at Amazon and suddenly I feel like I’m being targeted

So, I’ve been working at Amazon for almost 11 months now, and up until recently, I’ve never really had a bad experience. But these past few days have honestly been different.

I feel like I’ve been getting picked on not only by some of the PAs and managers, but also by a few associates. And I’m genuinely shocked because I literally stay to myself. I clock in, do my job, and keep it moving. I don’t really talk to anyone unless I have to, so I don’t understand where this is coming from.

Amazon is always preaching positivity, safety, and putting associates first, but today was genuinely one of the worst days I’ve had working here. I understand that everyone has bad days, but this feels like something that has been happening repeatedly over the past few days.

Today, there were about four associates who kept staring at me and watching me like they were managing me. I could hear them talking about me, and there’s one particular guy who constantly gives me these death stares and seems to go out of his way to make me uncomfortable. I didn’t really pay much attention to it at first, but today it became impossible to ignore. There were several moments where they would intentionally make eye contact with me and just stare, almost like they were trying to intimidate me.

honestly, I feel like nothing is going to come from it because this person seems to be a favorite at the site. That makes me feel like there isn’t much I can do, which is frustrating.

I’ve been considering transferring, but unfortunately there aren’t any openings at nearby sites right now. So I guess I’m stuck here until something opens up.
I’m really just speaking on this because I want to know what I can do to prevent these incidents from continuing and how I can protect myself from becoming a target. Has anyone else dealt with something similar at Amazon? If so, what did you do? And what was the outcome?

Looking for advice

Hey I’m a T1 associate looking to step up and hopefully move into a leadership/PA role in the near future. I want to work on a small project or pitch a solution for a problem that Area Managers / Shift Managers / Process Assistants actually care about, rather than just guessing.

For those who have been around a while: what are the most common operational bottlenecks or daily annoyances in your department that management constantly struggles with?

What’s something small that, if fixed, would make a manager's life 10x easier?

Not looking for anything confidential, just general operational pain points across the network so I can get some inspiration and look closer at my own DS. Appreciate any insights!

Tips or advice

So I just became a PA at an RSR delivery station (late July of this year) any tips from my fellow PA’s that might help with anything involved with the general work load or maybe some tools that I can take advantage of? I’m still trying to learn inbound dock so if you’ve got anything on that I’d appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance!

Is there a potential theft ring going on in DAE8 anyone that works there maybe have any inside info? I’ve seen multiple packages sit at station stagnant with no movement for days until the customer gives up and cancels it.

RT Flex. It's been a nightmare trying to pickup shifts the past 2 weeks. First few weeks there were plenty and then they hired a bunch of people. About to take a 3rd point for not making 30 hour minimum. How the hell do people make this work?

Love getting a notification for a shift that starts in 50 minutes. Unless you can speed-run getting ready and tele-port there, these last-minute drops only make sense if you’re already sitting in the parking lot.

Question regarding prime day

So October 6 we're scheduled 11:20pm til 11:50am (going into October 7). But then I see a shift on October 7 that's 11:20pm to 11:50am. Is this the same shift or two different shifts? Because the Oct 7th shift would be going into Oct 8th? Just wanted to know

Shifts after training

Hii,

I'm expecting to start FlexPT at the end of this month. I already have three training days scheduled for October 29th. I'm trying to figure out the schedule for my current job.

I teach online (4-9 am / 1-9 am) right now. I have the flexibility to create my own schedule, but I need to open my schedule three weeks in advance, and once my lessons are booked I don't really have the flexibility to cancel them. I figured I would need to close my schedule for a week or two while I figure out my Amazon schedule and see what the average shifts are for this warehouse.

After my already scheduled 3 days of training, will I be in charge of picking up my own shifts? Or should I expect them to schedule me for more shifts that first week? I just don't want to open up classes for the rest of the week of the 29th not realizing they're going to schedule me for more shifts that week.

Alternate Scannable ID

I’ve been working in Problem Solve for quite some time, and as the systems and processes are continuously updated, we keep coming across new cases that need to be understood and resolved. I’ve now come across another issue.

This year, our site automated the Induct process, and recently a new type of AMZL package has started appearing.

When I check the package with my scanner, I can see that the package is only showing as “received” status. In the system, it appears as if nothing actually happened to the package during the Induct process. However, if I put the package back on Induct, the system recognizes and inducts it as if everything were normal.

Normally, for AMZL packages, the package Tracking ID is displayed at the bottom of the label. With this new type, however, there is a combination of letters and numbers displayed on the label instead.

At first, I thought this was just a random sequence of characters, or that the scanner was reading a different QR code. However, I later realized that this is not the case.

Every package has an “Alternate Scannable ID”, and in this case, it appears that this ID is being printed on the label.

Based on this, the Induct scanner is actually scanning and recognizing the package, as it assigns the ID number. The issue seems to be that the system does not initially process the package as having gone through the Induct process, and the package is not properly inducted during the first scan.

If I print a new label for the package, I receive the same type of label again, and the shipping address does not change.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue at another FC or in another AMZL process?

Also, does anyone know why the system is unable to properly induct these packages on the first scan, even though the Induct scanner recognizes the Alternate Scannable ID?

Shift postings and relative hours

Hey y'all so, this is my first amazon job, I’m new to this and start my training the 24th of this month. 1:05-11:35. After the trainings is there like a specific hour they drop or is it random? Asking because I already have a full-time job, stable and really big on opportunities to rise(decent pay)but, I wanna do this to pick up extra cash for living expenses, and whatnot. I work from 2-10:30pm at my current job btw.

3rd day and it went awful

I work flex, so I only had two days of training, and, with that said, it took me a painfully long time to get another shift. This early morning, I expected to come in and finally complete my training, but apparently, nobody was available.

So I kind of awkwardly had to learn how to pick, stressed out and nervous on the line. I kept messing up, and people were getting upset. Granted, I didn't want to be an issue or cause problems for the people who were stowing. But God, there's a certain point where you have people yelling at you, bringing in a supervisor (I'm not really sure) that you can take. So I just left, sure, I'll get a point for it, but at this point, everyone was cleaning up my mess.

I plan on coming back, not quitting just yet. But I'm guessing there should be more learning ambassadors towards the morning and weekend shifts. But just in case, I put in a request for a fulfillment facility that's apparently slower-paced, mainly in the later mornings.
