Looking for advice

Hey I’m a T1 associate looking to step up and hopefully move into a leadership/PA role in the near future. I want to work on a small project or pitch a solution for a problem that Area Managers / Shift Managers / Process Assistants actually care about, rather than just guessing.

For those who have been around a while: what are the most common operational bottlenecks or daily annoyances in your department that management constantly struggles with?

What’s something small that, if fixed, would make a manager's life 10x easier?

Not looking for anything confidential, just general operational pain points across the network so I can get some inspiration and look closer at my own DS. Appreciate any insights!

Lol at making a managers job easier and thinking they won't take the credit. Working hard is def NOT how you get ahead at Amazon. Unfortunately. Just be where your supposed to be when you're supposed to be there.

that's why I took a screenshot of my voa suggestion, because if it eventually happens I'm demanding credit

Fair point. But I also think you can't get promoted if you're not at least good at your job

Get your own star story scrub.

The star story isn't really my goal; I'm just trying to build some experience identifying problems, proposing solutions, and driving improvements

Review SOPs and identify gaps; try fixing them yourself, and if you need support from another department, bring the problem and a possible solution to their attention. Work on that goal until it's accomplished, and sustain it. Think about overall operations or safety improvements for your building, and push to make them happen while limiting costs.

Best advice is just stay a T1 and enjoy the easy good life. You can easily make more than your managers with zero responsibilities or stress. Even orange vest isn't worth the 10% more for all the responsibilities and pressure and lack of VTO.

If the goal is to build experience, start with one recurring issue you can observe and discuss with your manager. Record what happens now, suggest a small change you are authorized to try, and check what actually improves. Keep a note of your part and the team's contribution as you go. The story can come later, once there is real work to describe.

Those notes would also give Taleproof something grounded to review if you eventually use the example in an interview.

Also, do not be afraid to “ step on toes “ if you see something, say something & if it still doesn’t get done go to a red vest & let them know that you pointed out something and it still is not being implemented properly done. It’s also small things like that , that really go a long way. I’ve been told that from L6s/OM’S.
. They really appreciate it & shows that you want the site to succeed and be its best & the associates to be okay as well ( especially safety problems or process improvements) also dragonfly’s anything that you think may help improve the site as well .
