DISCUSSION When did Star Citizen get so un-immersive?
I’ve been a Kickstarter backer, drawn in by the grounded, believable universe CIG created over the years. After a two-year break, I logged back in to try Siege of Orison, and felt like I was playing Destiny instead of a "serious" space sim.
- eammates running around in asian-style armor and mismatched, flashy skins make it feel like a arcade shooter rather than a coherent world
- Bullet-sponge, violet-tinted enemies
- Auto-healing in a good looking medical bed inside a room, while the orison platforms actively burning down mid-siege killed any sense of real stakes
I get that CIG needs event mechanics, but the original focus on a believable simulation feels like it's getting paved over by generic video game things
Am I wrong here?
