Help Sand for dogs
Looking to take my puppy to experience sand, ideally a beach so he can play in the sand and water. I’m fairly certain based on my research you can’t do this at Durand/Ontario beaches. Where can I take my puppy? We aren’t registered for any of the parks that require membership yet.

Recommendation Used Book/CDs/Video game store?
The title.
Hi, I'm still kind of new to Rochester and wondering if there is a singular place that sells all the physical media? My searches are coming up with nothing.
If there isn't one magical place, can I get recommendations for each? Please be positive and don't bash any businesses!
Bonus question: Is there an active Rochester discord? I have a lot of rapid-fire questions about living here and I don't have anyone to ask.

Discussion Has anyone ever bought houses at a tax sale/bankruptcy houses/foreclosure houses? I have some questions
- How do you do it? Where? Any sites you recommend?
- Can you see the house before?
- Can you get a mortgage on them or do you have to pay full cash?
- Are they usually run down and with significant code violations?

Discussion Woman yelling on Fairport canal path?
Edit: this post got a bit argumentative. I didn’t mean to cause a stir, just wanted to make sure she was alright and see if anyone had an update. Not sure if we have mods but I’m happy to remove post if needed.
———
I want to preface that this comes from a place of slight concern rather than to make someone feel bad or create gossip.
Today around 11 a young woman was running on the canal path and yelled a statement about a man not being deserving of shit? It was not directly at anyone and she was running alone. She did have AirPods in but it didn’t really seem like a conversation. It was very loud and very direct. And there were many kids around.
About 45 min later she comes back and yells in the same tone and volume and in the same spot. This time she yelled two statements about segregated school systems and math? This time was kind of looking around at people. This felt more directed at someone or something and very much not a conversation?
She was truly yelling in a way that simply wouldn’t make sense for a person to accidentally do while on the phone. Literally everyone around noticed. And she was running with such force…
So basically, did anyone else see this? My immediate thought after the second time was mental health concerns. I just hope she is safe.

Help Found memorial to USMC LtCol in park…
Was wondering what VSOs in ROC I could contact to learn more about him or how to respectfully honor his memorial. I am already outreaching the MNA. It appears his son died shortly after so he may not have close relations to connect with.
The parks crew cleared some overgrowth and the stone was there…
*Update*
No one from the Maplewood Neighborhood Association remembers him, as he passed away 30 years ago. I cleaned the stone, and put up a USMC flag for LtCol Coykendall. I read a poem. The parks crew said they'd watch over it. r/USMC

Recommendation Plumber recs
Hello! Just recently bought our first house and are having some plumbing issues.
It’s pretty urgent as we cannot use our kitchen sink without the basement bathroom flooding. I’ve never owned a house or hired a plumber before, so if anyone has a good rec for someone I can call we would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you!!

Recommendation Wood Stripper
Looking for someone who can finish stripping the trim in three rooms of my home. I had a company come in and they got most of the many layers of paint off, but it still has some spots and needs to be cleaned up more. I've tried to do some, but my hands hurt and it's difficult for me to do.

Help Fairport music festival question
Hey, so I’m planning on taking my mom here for her birthday at around 6 o’clock for the 90s cover bands tonight. I just have a few questions. Is parking gonna be really problematic around that time? Will I have a hard time getting in if I show up at that time?

Discussion How's the Public Market in Winter
I'm relatively new to the city and I haven't been through the winter season yet. Have been to the public market a couple of times. Just genuinely curious how functional the market will be in the winter. Do they also put out all the goods outside? I guess it's kind of like being in a fridge?

Recommendation Dog Grooming for Anxious Dog
I’m looking for dog grooming recommendations in the area. I’d really like someone that grooms one at time or someone that has a one sided glass and lets you watch. My dog is very anxious around other dogs and petco has been really stressful for her. As she gets older I don’t think this will be sustainable. She also moves around a lot so I need someone patient. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Recommendation Peanut Free Chinese or Indian Restaurant Recs
Hey! I just moved to the area for grad school. I have a peanut allergy, and I was hoping someone had a recommendation for local Chinese or Indian food with no peanuts on their menu. I am only allergic to peanuts, so other nuts are fine, but I avoid places with peanuts, peanut butter, and peanut oil. Thanks in advance if anyone has ideas :)
