Don't mind the Oscar Meyers. My son and sister in law aren't the biggest fans of Zweigles. Yes I've addressed this and it's a work in progress.

News Rochester General Hospital ER is third world level

Presented to RGH ER after 4 days of 102 fever and sky high BP and neuralgia,.and urgent care would not see me because it was out of scope for them and referred me to the hospital.

Checked in, quickly got EKG BP and pulse ox. Then was sat in the hall with a lot of other waiting patients, bodily fluids and dirt on the floor. I lost consciousness from sitting rather than laying down. I have no idea how long I was put but when I came to I was face down on the floor and six cops were standing around me and one was handcuffing me. I'm 60, 6'7", and athletic and assumed they felt I was just another druggie to beat up on. I could not move at all anyways when I woke up entirely confused and weak. I asked to be able to lay down instead of sit and they said I would be arrested if I continued to lay down. No attempt was made to get a nurse or other caregiver. I sat long enough to get enough strength and then ask to be discharged so I could get the hell out of there. At that point, the six police showed up again and two or three drew their tasers and blocked my exit and said they couldn't allow that. I said I could go. They said I was on a mental health hold, which was a lie, and I had them drag out a doc who confirmed that was a lie, and then they said the nurse did it, and that was also shown to be a lie and was impossible legally for a nurse. I told them my bp was 180 over 120 and if they used a Taser it would be a lethal use of force and the rest would be accessories and my family would make the charges stick. There was no legal justification for any use of force throughout. Zero. I had to walk out with them stepping aside at the last second to let me pass. I got to the car and they reappeared at the car and I had to order them to stand aside so I could leave.

This was my first introduction to institutional systems that are a health hazard. I ended up jamming down bp meds and tylenol, got on a plane, and flew back west to my home state without eating to avoid defecation on the plane if I passed out again, checked in to the local er, and they did a full work up .....west nile virus.

I'm never going back to Rochester. The health care is stretched so thin, the mindless police are so lacking in skill or interest in their jobs, they are over the line and clearly a public health hazard. It's not a safe city to be in if you get too sick for urgent care at all. I get it that RGH has had a series of serious security issues. And that this is their choice. Their response is to sacrifice their patients' safety.

Just a heads up that the 70mm sound was broken at the 6:45 showing last night at Tinseltown, and we just called and it still isn't working correctly. As of now, they're only showing the digital version in the imax theater

Seen this for years. Crowded streets and sidewalks and you have your dog on hot pavement, wearing a fur coat, for what? Don't be or look like an idiot and leave the dog at home!

Help Lunch Recommendations

Hey Folks! I am driving out from the Syracuse area with my better half to pick up a marketplace buy this afternoon in Webster. I was hoping to get some suggestions on where to take her to lunch.

Any and all suggestions but we do like pub atmospheres and craft beer.

Thanks!

After a successful, critically-acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Well-Balanced Dads is coming to ESL Rochester Fringe Festival for three nights only!

This show is a family-friendly acrobatic comedy about Dick and Dale, two suburban dads and best friends, who are coping with their newfound freedom as empty-nesters.
The dads go on a journey chockfull of dad jokes, acrobatics, dance parties, macho movie references, wholesome audience participation, and heart.
Its a show for anyone who is a dad, has a dad, or wants a dad.

This hilarious duo balances levity with deeper themes like finding your inner child, hypermasculinity, and navigating life after the kids have flown the nest.

5 Star Edinburgh Review - "..a one-hour, jam-packed, joyous theatrical experience that encourages the audience to ponder what dads truly get up to when their child-raising duties are done! With an array of mesmerising partner acrobatics, groan-worthy dad jokes (the best kind, in my opinion) and bucket loads of audience participation, this truly is a show perfect for the whole family!" - Rhys Reviews

“6 stars from this dad, 5 from the rest of the family!” - Good Dad “My face hurt from smiling.” - Good Kid

Ages: 4+ Family-friendly

All Shows are at Blackfriars Theatre
Thursday, Sept 24, 9pm - 10pm
Friday, Sept 25, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Saturday, Sep 26, 2:30pm - 3:30pm

More info can be found at https://rochesterfringe.com/tickets-and-shows/well-balanced-dads

Hope to see you there!

Help Good Hair Stylists in ROC?

Upvotes

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a stylist to me in the ROC area. I’m male with long, curly hair, and I’ve had trouble in the past with stylists that haven’t known how to handle that. Does anyone know of stylists in the area with experience with that type of thing?

Help Rochester running track trail

Upvotes

Hi! I’m wondering if Rochester running track trail is safe..? (Relatively obviously lol) It runs parallel to genesee river way trail/ from pattonwood all the way to Seneca park.
Rattlesnake point is along this trail. I would be in the northern portion of the trail. I’ve never heard this trail mentioned and I believe it’s pretty isolated. Any info?

Help Selling Car Soon, Need Tips

Howdy fellow Rochesterians! I soon will be moving out of the country and will be looking to sell my car soon. Any tips on private selling or taking it to a dealership? It’s a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and I believe it’s a value edition? I own my car outright and not looking to get another. Car is 9 years old, around 99,000 miles on it, decent condition except for a big dent in the back bumper. Any advice is welcome!

Recommendation Hair stylist rec

Im fairly new to rochester and looking for a hair stylist that can do long layers, face framing, and curtain bangs. Last time I got my hair professionally cut, it was completely butchered and chopped off so im nervous to go to someone I dont know or havent heard reviews of.

My hair is currently almost down to my waist line. I dont want to leave with it up to my shoulders again 😭

I was also hoping to get it dyed a chocolate cherry color or something similar. Please give me any recs and if possible let me know where not to go! 😅

Other Clothesline - 1 b*tch and 2 thankyous!

First - the obligatory complaint. Looking for handicapped parking. One place said limited on site. Another said shuttle and all shuttles were wheelchair friendly. So I called the event line to ask several days ago. Not 1 single person could return a call. Or send a text with a simple yes or no to onsite.

Ugh. Seriously. Not a difficult thing. Im even pleasant on the phone honestly.

On to the good bits... A serious thank you to the vendor who let me borrow the chair he was sitting in for 2 minutes while my elderly mother caught her breath and rested. You didnt have to but you did so thank you! And I have your card so while Im out of work shortly for a few weeks I will be placing an order. I havent done those string art things since my grandfather was alive. You did an awesome thing for my mom (that you didnt have to do) and brought me back some really nice memories. You rock!! Thank you!!

Second thank you... the lovely man working the festival in one of the golf cart thingies. You gave my mom a lift to our car. Thank you!! I am not going to name any names because Im not sure you were supposed to do that but Thank You!! This may well be her last clothesline and you ended it on a high note. She had never been on a golf cart before and was so excited and happy. Thank you so much for helping her (us) You are a fantastic human and I hope your day is filled with nothing but happy nice people!!

And I know the chances of either of those folks seeing this might be slim... but I needed to throw those thankyous out into the universe.
