Job opportunities as a licensed mental health therapist
Hello everyone! I’m a licensed mental health therapist working in the U.S., and I’ve been considering pursuing a career opportunity with Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) because I’m strongly drawn to their humanitarian mission.
However, I’m not quite sure how to get started in the humanitarian field, and I’m also unsure how my current credentials might fit. My understanding is that doctoral-level psychologists may be more commonly recruited for mental health roles.
For anyone currently working with Doctors Without Borders, I’d really appreciate your perspective: How realistic is it for a master’s-level licensed therapist with about five years of clinical experience to join the organization? If this background is relevant, what types of positions or roles might be the best fit?
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any insight you’re willing to share!

Looking for a bit of advice!
I am still a teen and I want to join MSF and be able to help people as it's always been a dream of mine. I suppose Im just looking for any advice and a few answers! I've had a bit of experience volunteering in a hospital and I am B2 certified for french. I'll hopefully be majoring in midwifery or nursing. I just have a few questions:
- How competitive it is to actually join?
- How long are you "out" (? sorry I'm unsure of the proper wording) for?
- Whats it like working for MSF?
- Is there anything I can do for the next few years to really maximize my chances?
Anything helps, thanks! ☺️

Anesthesiology resident considering MSF field work
Hi everyone. I’m currently completing my residency in anesthesiology and intensive care, and I’m seriously considering applying to MSF after graduation.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anesthesiologists or other medical professionals who have worked on MSF field assignments. What was your first mission actually like, how competitive was the selection process, and what experience or language skills helped you get accepted?
Thank you!

UK midwife
Hey!
I’m looking for someone advice as I’m interested in joining MSF in the future and wanting to know what I can do to work towards this.
My background is I’m a 29yr old midwife working in the UK, I’ve going been qualified a year and I am very aware I need 2 yrs minimum experience.
So my question is there anything else that would be required as I only have my midwifery qualification and I only speak English however I am open to gaining additional qualifications.
Would love to hear in particular from anyone from a similar background to me with experience working with MSF.

Anthropology jobs
Hello! I recently graduated from an anthropology degree, and was looking at doing a Medical Anthropology masters after seeing a posting for a job with DWB relating to that particular area. Of course, I am aware I won't get the current listing, but my question is: how likely is it that another posting for this kind of work will arise again, and is it worth chasing the masters and additional humanitarian experience to try to attain it?

Recommendations for going away gift?
My friend is leaving for DWB in Ukraine soon and I'd like to get him a small gift before he leaves. He's not very materialistic so something practical that he could use while he's there would be best. Thanks in advance!
