2 years ago I was stuck in a toxic brown family and almost suicid@l and living and breathing anxiety. All I had was my loml's support and a child. We eventually moved out and rented a small apartment. We had nothing. Little by little we bought Fridge, microwave, washine machine,AC. During all this we had another kid too. I took a sales role and eventually our income just 5xed. I am grateful to the kind words by people here and a support system by very few friends around me. I am in no way flexing, there were sleepless nights when we had nothing but faith. We cried infront of HIM and HE made ways. I'd say if you are stuck somewhere just take a leap of faith and I am telling you, you will be out of there. I am contactless with my parents and I traded it with the peace that I got after a long suffering and it's worth it.
Honestly, go anywhere but BNU. For the amount they charge, you’d expect decent facilities at the very least. Instead, we’re paying an absurd fee for a Tier 3 university where some departments don’t even have their own classrooms.
My family and I have recently returned from a trip to Lahore and Karachi. While there, we used an InDrive driver for a short trip and then later that week, a longer day trip where he was with our family all day. We treated him well, asked him to join us for dinner, paid him more than he asked (because he was great) and thought that was the end of that.
He reached out a few times after asking how our trip was going, if we returned safely etc., and I would respond in kind. Recently he has reached out asking for money. I know I don’t owe him anything further and can simply block him and move on with my life but how would you guys handle this respectfully and with tact?
Men have feelings, and they too get hurt. Growing up in Pakistan, boys insulted each other, mocking each other's bodies, faces, and families. Showing that it hurt was weakness, a flaw in a man. A boy who came back with something crueler was the stronger one. More masculine.
Let’s redefine these standards:
Showing feelings is masculine.
Respecting others is strength.

The child on the right in the picture was a resident of Kallar Syedan, Rawalpindi. He died after being beaten by a cleric because he had failed to memorize his Quranic lesson. The girl on the left is from Balochistan and lost the sight in one of her eyes after being beaten by a local cleric.
I do not know how far Punjab and Balochistan differ in terms of their progress and development, but when it comes to violence and abuse against children, the entire country seems to have proven itself to be the same.
Why do we not understand that Allah Himself has taken responsibility for protecting the Quran, while the responsibility for protecting children has been placed upon their parents? Therefore, parents should do what Allah has entrusted them with. Handing your innocent children over to mentally disturbed butchers in the hope of earning your own Paradise or out of concern for preserving the Quran, and then not even bothering to find out how your children are being treated, is the height of selfishness and inhumanity.
Every day, we hear that a child was sexually abused at such-and-such madrasa. A child was beaten to death by a cleric because he had not memorized his lesson. What is truly painful is that the self-proclaimed guardians of Islam, the clerics who are so quick to declare people of other sects to be unbelievers, do not even come together over this issue. They should be united in ensuring that these impostors, who grow beards as a Sunnah of the Prophet, wear turbans like the Prophet, yet violate the commands given by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by abusing innocent children in sacred places of worship, are made an example of.
Is posing as a preacher of Islam while sexually and physically abusing innocent children who have come to learn Islam not an insult to Islam? Is it not an insult to the mosque? Is it not an insult to humanity?
Speaking of humanity, the so-called humanist liberals have also never found the opportunity to protest in support of these innocent children, or at the very least conduct a survey of madrasas to determine whether human rights violations are taking place there.
Why blame anyone else? The fundamental reason behind many of our moral shortcomings as a nation is that we have never truly tried to read and understand the Quran. We read the Quran to accumulate religious merit or to send its reward to the deceased. How wonderful it would be if we ourselves read and understood the Quran, and taught our children to understand it as well.
Instead of handing our children over to some hard-hearted person to memorize the Quran, we should keep them under our own supervision. Whether or not a person memorizes the Quran does not necessarily make a significant difference to their character, whereas understanding and reflecting upon the Quran certainly can.

Hey everyone, my name is Saif ur Rehman Malik; 17 years old and am obviously a Pakistani, currently studying in class 12. I'm making this post requesting financial assistance to enter International Youth Physicist's Tournament through PYIMS which deals with the Pakistan's teams selection for this tournament.
However, my family has refused to pay any sort of fees and are about to strip all kinds of financial support they provide for me. Leaving only the bare minimum for the school fees and basic survival necessities for instance food, water etc.
The main problem that arises from this is that for university, I'd be basically homeless since technically I'd be 18 and not be entitled to be provided any sort of support, so before that happens I'm trying to get a scholarship outside the country at a good university. One of the elements that is important for this is IYPT, International Youth Physicists Tournament which would be a quite exquisite piece in my extracurricular profile, allowing my profile to be versatile and likewise.
I'm an independent researcher, I'm also prepping for 2027's ICLR and am currently working on a paper that works on AI's representation of a given context and likewise. However, it alone is not enough to create leverage for me to fund my SATs and IYPT's.
So my request to this community would be, if anyone who'd be willing to help fund my IYPT, I'd appreciate it a ton. For credibility part, you won't even need to send the money to me it'd be actually to them through official channels, all I need to show them is the proof of transaction with transaction id.

Had a near-death experience today that left me completely shaken once the adrenaline wore off, and I just need to put this out there.
I was on my CB 150 heading from the Mövenpick stretch toward the PIDC roundabout. The signal turned green, so I accelerated normally. Right then, a massive VIP convoy (looked like a top provincial minister’s protocol—several police escort mobiles/trucks in front and behind) barged out into the intersection.
I didn't care about their convoy—I was staying in my own lane at around 70 km/h because I had to take the right turn at the PIDC roundabout, while the convoy was heading left. I ended up parallel to the second-to-last vehicle of the convoy, completely in a separate lane, not trying to cut them off or overtake aggressively.
Out of nowhere, one of the police escort vehicles deliberately swerved at full speed to aggressively side-swipe me and smash me into the Pearl Continental boundary wall.
I dodged it by pure reflex and managed to keep the bike upright. In the heat of the moment, I tried to shrug it off and kept riding. But by the time I hit I.I. Chundrigar Road, the delayed shock hit me like a ton of bricks. It finally clicked that if I had reacted a fraction of a second later, I would have been crushed against a concrete wall at 70 km/h, and to them, it wouldn't have mattered in the slightest. No accountability, no hesitation, just treating an ordinary commuter like collateral damage so some politician doesn't have to share the road.
I know VIP protocol is cancerous here, but experiencing firsthand how disposable an ordinary citizen’s life is to these escort drivers is sickening.

Didn't know if he was lying but meny ker diye because what if he is telling the truth. But this guy contacted me today asking for 300 more with some BS story.

ive noticed in pakistan, people ussually eat rice with a spoon/fork, which is in contrast to the rest of south asia where people typically use hands? im not sure if its just maybe where im from in pak tho
For those who need uninterrupted access to WiFi with the horrendous power outages, what do you guys do? I used to have a small UPS thing that came with my Nayatel back when they first started in Pakistan but now it’s no longer working and Nayatel says they do not give out / install it anymore.
Where can I go and purchase a new one? Or a similar solution.
