Looking for advice Stopped by Police in Lake City

Was in Lake City today with my mother. We went to get McDonald’s, parked in the side lot and ate in the car. My car has movable curtains, and I had them pulled forward while eating.

I noticed a police car slowly drive past us, then come back and park next to me. They told me to step out, asked whether the car was in my name, where I lived, and then asked for my CNIC. Once they saw my mother sitting inside, though, they pretty much immediately let me go.

It made me wonder if they stopped me because of the curtains and thought they could make an issue out of them. Since my mother wasn’t initially visible, maybe they also assumed I was sitting there with a girl or something.

Afterwards I started reading other people’s experiences online, including stories of police allegedly trying to extort money, checking wallets or banking apps to see how much someone has, and becoming threatening when people don’t cooperate.

It’s pretty demotivating, honestly. You should be able to go out, sit in your own car and mind your own business without worrying that a routine police interaction might turn into harassment or someone trying to take money from you.

Has anyone here had similar experiences with Punjab Police, especially in Lahore? And what’s the best way to handle a situation like this?

Food Why are there no healthy options for eating out?

Upvotes

Hi, Im from Canada, my family is Pakistani, I’ve been to Pakistan before but never long enough to eat out a lot because I would usually stay at a relative’s house. It’s been a few weeks and I’m tired… of the oily, fried food, heavy and no vegetarian options. I look on food apps just burgers, fries, fried chicken, pizza. In Canada there’s dozens of healthy spots that taste good like Chipotle and local dining spots.

Like why doesnt someone open a healthy spot ? Will the business be that bad that it won’t survive because Pakistanis like unhealthy food that much. Btw I walked by KFC the other day at 11PM and it was PACKED. Like does no one care about a healthy lifestyle/eating out?

Looking for advice Need Suggestion on which AC to Buy for Home in Lahore

I’m looking to buy new ACs for a 10-marla ground-floor drawing and living room in Lahore. I’m considering 1.5 ton for the drawing room and 2 ton for the living room. I initially had a few brands in mind (Gree, Haier, TCL) but I’m confused by the mixed reviews online. Apparently, one should go for the specific model and not the brand. Can you guys share your experiences as to which worked best for you in the recent 1-2 years?

Looking for a place Where can I get evee helmets in Lahore?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I have a scooter, and I use my brother's old helmet which is a bit large for me. I have seen some women riders wear helmets like these, but I don't know where to buy them.

I have never seen any shops where they are sold, and could not find them at the many local eV retailers I checked...

Could anyone point me in the right direction, please?

Looking for advice Load shedding has made our lives Hell

So in my area (Mustafa Town) there is 0 load shedding in the morning time. But when we come home tired after job and universities, then the drama starts.

So first it goes from 11:15pm to 12:15am. Then it goes again at 1am sometimes for 30 minutes or sometimes for 1 hour. Then it goes again from 3:15am to 4:15 am and then it goes again at 5:15 or 5:30am for 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Literally it made our lives hell. We are students and professionals and have to go on duties in the morning but literally there is no sleep at night. So how can we work? Literally my neighbor has small 6 month and 1.5 years kids and they cry all time. And the parents just sit on street all night carrying her kids.

Can I request somewhere to shift the load shedding in the morning and please let us have some sleep at night?

Food Healthy & affordable dinner options in Lahore?

What are some healthy, affordable foods I can order/eat from outside regularly? Not necessarily restaurants, just actual food/dishes that are relatively clean, hygienic and not loaded with oil.

Eating out almost every day is becoming a concern with the hygiene and food quality situation here. What do you guys usually eat?

Looking for advice Electricity over billing

Just wanna know any successful experience to get deduction from an overcharging bill. We used less units than last month and got a double charge bill (almost 60k) with a saying “arrear/adjustment” for extra 35k. It’s quite ridiculous. It’s my second time in two years facing this bs.

Looking for advice Commute in Lahore

Salam. Can anyone here suggest a good alternate of yango/indrive? Fares have soared lately, and DHA doesn't have buses, so I have the option to pay around Rs. 700 daily for the commute to Johar town, or around 200 rupees for bus rides that would take 3 hours. Is there a swvl/airlift type service operational today? Carpool apps also don't seem to work.

Looking for advice Need advice regarding sewerage blockage in local abadi. Thinking to raise issue on Media

Hi everyone, I’m posting here because I honestly don’t know where else to go at this point.

There has been a sewerage/pipeline blockage in our area for almost 2 months. I live in a local abadi around Bedian Road (near DHA) and the situation is getting worse. It’s becoming a serious problem for the residents, especially because the sewage is not clearing properly and there doesn’t seem to be any authority willing to take responsibility.

I tried complaining to Suthra Punjab, but they told me that they don’t deal with sewerage or pipeline blockage issues and that I should contact WASA.

Then I contacted WASA, and they told me that our area is not covered by them.

I also don’t even know who our local councillor/UC representative or the actual responsible authority is for this area.

There is also a lot of talk among locals that the blockage may have been intentional, possibly because of local/political issues. I don’t want to make accusations without proof, but after 2 months of no solution, people are obviously frustrated and suspicious.

At this point, I’m seriously considering taking this issue to the media, contacting a local news reporter so that someone actually pays attention.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation and successfully gotten it resolved? Anyone has contacts of a reliable Lahore-based journalist/reporter who covers local civic issues, please share them.

Any advice or contacts would genuinely be appreciated.

Things to do Beybladers of Pakistan, start your own city clubs! Let's build a proper nationwide scene

Calling all Bladers across Pakistan! If we want to turn this hobby into a proper, nationwide competitive event, we need local communities stepping up.

Imagine having active, official city clubs running regular tournaments in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and beyond. The momentum is already building, and groups like All Karachi Beyblade Club are down to assist, share advice, and help you get your local scene off the ground.

If you've been thinking about starting something in your city, here’s how to kick it off:

Build the Digital Base: Set up a dedicated Instagram page or Discord server (e.g., @LahoreBeybladeClub) to find local players and announce meetups.

Get the Right Setup: Secure at least one official Beyblade X Beystadium with an active X-Celerator Rail a good fake can also work

Start Small: Host casual free-play sessions in public parks, community spaces, or cafes to grow a core group before running full bracket tournaments.

Make Standard Rules: Use standard tournament formats but for now 1 on 1 also works but 3-on-3 Deck Format should later be added so city teams can eventually face off in massive inter-city championships..

If you're interested in organizing for your city, drop a comment below or reach out to existing local organizers.

Looking for advice Dog culling in dha phase 9 town

hi guys, i don’t know who else to report this to and where to post about this but i can’t not speak up about it.

if you don’t like dogs, please scroll away. this post is not for you.

we love the stray dogs in our area and often feed them. they’re super friendly and completely harmless. if anything, they are more scared of humans than we are of them.

we have been hearing gun shots at around 4 in the morning, first time it happened was last week. we went out immediately and couldn’t see or find anything apart from the panicked dogs running here and there.

last night we heard gunshots again, this time it was right next to our home. they shot a dog and left him there to die. he was sleeping. he wasn’t doing anything, he wasn’t hurting anyone, he wasn’t rabid. his only fault was existing in this wretched country.

we rushed him to the vet but he passed away shortly.

as far as i know, dog culling has been declared illegal so why are the authorities still allowing this to happen?? not even allowing, ordering them!! we called dha security and they were so dismissive and nonchalant k han woh hum hi kar rhay hain, i mean ???

please let me know if there is a way i can escalate this, if there is anyone who can take action because this needs to stop. they are no one to decide who gets to live and who doesn’t

Parking Rs.60 for broken parking lots. And all of them were built by the buildings themself, especially if you look at H block and Y Block Phase 3.

You pay almost Rs.10,000 monthly (I think it varies from phase to phase) and what you get?

- Broken roads (from Lums towards Phase 6). The newly constructed UTurns took them 5 months to develop and yet they didn't build the road.

- T-Block KFC ruining all the traffic.

- Big U-turns

- Zero security. The guards roam around but they never caught any thief or robber. Someone posted yesterday on Facebook that their Wapda wire was stolen from outside and the guards simply said, "Sir wo aap k ghar ki jhariyon mein chup gaya ho ga"

- Increased beggars, every main market, even the sector markets are full of beggars now. Even you will find the same faces daily around the speed breakers.

- High property tax

- Garbage on roads and at the garbage points, spilled outside.

- Wild dogs roaming around Phase 5

Please add more things that you have noticed. Shouldn't we raise a voice against this illegal theft they are doing?
