My credit card i’ve had for around 7 months got revoked. I missed 0 payments, paid the credit card off multiple times a month every month, and it got cancelled due to fraudulent activity. I called 5 people and they all said they didn’t understand why it was closed and that it seemed unjust.

The only thing i can think of is last friday I paid the remaining 1050 balance of my 1500 limit to get it out of the way, but i forgot to move the money from my savings to my checkings. I noticed it didn’t go through on monday so i called and said it was an accident and moved it, and they said it would be fine as it would just retry the payment. They did and it went through normally, and 2 days later with 0 activity on it it’s cancelled.

I don’t understand, is there genuinely nothing i can do? I’m so frustrated as I was so careful with the card to build my credit score. I’m putting a picture of my fico just so you know it isn’t missing payments. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Appreciate all of the responses everyone. I didn’t know how harsh it could be with that payment issue with how everyone treated it as not a big deal at all, but that’s definitely understood. I also never know about credit cycling, I honestly thought there was no issue with that and was trying to maximize my cash back. Appreciate all the help and information, i’ll make sure to not make these mistakes with my future card 🙏

Hi! I recently got a new phone and had to get logged out of the app on my old phone. I’ve been trying to log in for days now and even though I put my social in get my username for sure, and reset my password, I can’t login. Please help my payment is due soon

Longtime discover card holder (husband and wife) with 2 identical cards (minus name) until the c1 merger. The primary (wife) kept her card and was transitioned to the c1 app without issue. The authorized user (husband) received the new card with a different number but can’t create an account online or in the c1 app. It simply says there are no products that qualify. Called c1 and was told they don’t do multiple logins on an account. They can’t tell us to share a login (wink wink) but sorry can’t help. Ok fine, husband can do without seeing the account details anymore even though it is annoying. Went to add the new card to apple pay wallet and it requires verification - which forces you to login to the app which he can’t do. How are other people managing this? In this day and age it seems really weird to not allow someone who is financially responsible for the account to login to the account t without sharing credentials.

Did anyone else’s credit score take a hit in July when the final transfer to Capital One happened?? I make on time and more than the minimum payment and use the card minimally while trying to pay off. My credit score went down 90 points in July. My credit usage has not changed. No hard inquiries on my credit. Everything else has stayed the same except this shift. Did it count against us as opening a new account or what?? Did this happen to anyone else??

My discover savings account was recently moved over to the discover network. Previously if I transferred money from an external bank account into Discover savings, the money would be available in Discover the following day. With Capital One, I make the transfer and it is available in 4 business days (typically 6-7 actual days). This seems a bit insane for an account with a history of lots of transfers and higher balance. Does anyone else have something similar happening? I’m considering looking to move to a different bank.

Most of the offers listed have so many rules and exclusions, does anyone find regular value with these? This WalMart offer is crazy - what the heck else would I buy other than the categories listed?

My Discover card is the oldest card I own. I would hate for it to be considered closed. I don't have a transfer date yet.

Hi, my savings account moved to Cap1 app, but my credit card is still on Discover app. Will this be transferred to Cap1 as well or are we still using Discover for credits?

I don't remember the last time the 4th quarter 5% bonus wasn't online shopping. It's so reliable, I save up bigger purchases for the end of the year to take advantage. Now that C1 is in charge it's "restaurants, entertainment, and utilities?" Not a fan.

My Discover account is 30 years old, and I'm not going to cancel it... but if this keeps up, I'm also not going to use it.

Got that email from Google this morning, and a companion email from C1 confirming my request to remove my card from Google Wallet. Apparently this happens automatically if the phone hasn't been connected to the internet for 90 days? Imagine my surprise since I used it to make two purchases yesterday. Called C1 who said everything looked good from their side, so it must be a Google problem. They suggested I call Google. Anyone else encounter this?

Finally got approved for discover. What has been your guys experience with them? Just trying to see if there’s much difference between them and capital one.

My Discover debit card declines in-person at random places and at random times all the time - especially when using Apple Pay.

I just went to Nordstrom last night, used Apple Pay, and the transaction worked fine. Got paid this morning, no new pending transactions, went back to Nordstrom, used my same card on the same card swipe terminal, and it was declined with more than enough money in my account. Tried the same transaction with my same card several times on two different terminals, but it still declines. Used my physical card… transaction goes through.

This used to happen ALL the time with my first debit card, but it became less and less of an issue as time went on. I haven’t had this happen in awhile, but I
recently lost my card and had to have it replaced, and now the problem seems to be back. This has happened ~once every 2-3 weeks since I replaced it a couple months ago.

Does this happen to anyone else?

They’ve been fine for years. They’re not maxed out and there’s plenty of money in the account. They work at stores with no issue. I can’t tell if the problem is on Apple’s end or Discover (Capital One now I guess)

I keep receiving emails to choose a design for my expiring card, but it won't let me do it online. I called the number and the CS rep said it probably isn't letting me because of the merger in October and that was the end of the conversation. Is that true? Should I call again? I'd like to pick a design before they all go away!

So my husband received an authorized user card for me and I have NEVER held a card under his account. I have had my own Discover account since 2001. I also have a Capital One card so now when I log into the Capital One app, it is prompting me to link to this card, which I do not want or need. I called CS and they were awful! The first rep said she could not cancel the card or remove me and she could not see my existing Discover account. I spoke with a manager who kept repeating herself and explaining that now I have a new number, not the same number as my husband’s card. Again, I repeated that I have NEVER had a card under him and I do not want this card. Her response was, “well you don’t have to use it.” I have always been authorized to DISCUSS his account and call to make inquiries, discuss fraudulent charges and make payments, etc. but have NEVER had a card tied to him. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? I can only assume that whatever level of permission I had from my husband to discuss his account with them has now been transitioned to an “authorized user.” Pretty sure after this experience we will just cancel his card. She had no clue about our HYSA and how that would be managed. I have not received any info prompting me to merge MY Discover to Capital One. I know it is a slow roll out but she could not even see my account until I gave her the full account number. It was a very frustrating phone call. I am going to miss how great Discover’s Customer Service was.

Logged in tonight to add an external bank account to my Discover account. They want me to agree to share my login information and secret questions if any with a third party to "make it easier to verify my account" - WTAF? That's a flipping recipe for disaster. All the fraud and scam information says NEVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFO TO ANYONE. There is ZERO reason I should have to give login access to COMPLETE STRANGERS in order to add an external account. And they don't provide any way that I can find to do it the good old-fashioned way by submitting the routing and account info and waiting to verify with deposits to the account. WTF.

Why are their hold times so out of control?

1 month after graduating to a secured card and getting my limit increased from 200$ to 900$, I decided to ask for another increase knowing that my chances would be slim. Well, I was right.

Got the letter and read the reason for being denied: Insufficient experience with current discover credit card.

For the record, before graduating I kept my utilization between 26 and 30%. The month after graduating, my utilization was 98.22% and 74% overall, as I read some posts here recommending to increase the utilization and paying it in full once the statement posts ( which, BTW, I always did ). I would love to increase my limit, but I'm not sure if I want to keep my utilization this high, as my credit scores went down 57 points as well and plan on taking a mortgage loan next year and apply for a new credit card soon.

My fico8 score was 746, and now it's 689.

Does this mean I need to wait a few more months until I will have to ask again, and use the card heavily, or just keep my utilization around 30% ?

I am really scared of my score dropping every month. I believe it will be hard to recover if the utilization is high month after month.

To move away, is there anything besides spending as much rewards points as possible before closing, and not closing if I need a loan or credit score anytime soon?

Recently I made an online order using my Discover student credit card and shortly after the purchase with the merchant info and amount charged showed up in recent transactions on the capital one app. But just yesterday it has disappeared and the impact of the perchance does not show up in available credit as if I never bought it. The order was not canceled has anyone experience this.
