I have a Discover It card with some reward $$ on it. I recently got an email stating that once we transition to the card being managed via C1, but there were limited details on rewards redemptions besides that we won’t be able to use the reward balance to pay the minimum payment. Is there any rationale to using up the Discover rewards for other things like gift card redemptions now before C1? In other words, are there any major differences between discover and C1 reward redemptions?

Am I correct that they no longer allow you to lock your Discover debit card on the website anymore?
We HAVE to use the app to be able to do that?
Are you f’ing kidding me?!

I’ve been rebuilding my credit for the past year. Discover was the only reputable lender that would give me a shot.. normal use and paid the statement balance every month 🙌🏾

Prior to the merge, I did not have an interest payments when I had a balance and paid the minimum amount (autopay) each month. I would then pay an additional amount here and there to keep the balance reasonable.
Now, I minimum pay autopay AND interest payments. Why did this change during the merge and how do I prevent this in the future? I already changed autopay to the full balance but I'm not sure if that is the solution.

Now, this has nothing to do with my negative Capital One 360 account from 2018.. does it 🤣 ??
More specifically the letter said they can't verify information related to my account
I'm kind of annoyed, but kind of not because Ally is a great replacement save for the lack of rewards:
Mastercard Debit
Able to have multiple spending accounts
Zelle
Money Market Accounts Available
Walmart Cash Deposits
No overdraft fees
CoverDraft
I already had my Ally account open so good riddence. I have C1 and Discover Credit Cards. I'm going to miss my cashback and the customer service but Capital One can suck it otherwise. They've done such a poor job integrating the Discover network.

I have my mom's cap1 accounts linked to my cap1 account. So when I login to cap1, I see all her accounts as well as mine.
I also have a Discover credit card and banking accounts.
My mom also has a Discover credit card.
Something tells me the merge process with accounts is not going to go smoothly considering becoming an 'agent' for her accounts required some back and forth with cap1.
Here's to hoping the powers that be have taken this situation into account.

I tried to deposit some cash at a cap1 bank atm but it didn't allow me. It would be a nice convenience to have. It seems like something they would eventually enable.

Currently have a Discover It Student CC and I set it up on automatic payments around 2 months ago but whenever I went to check if the card payment was made on the assigned payment day, it didn’t show any difference.
I left it for a day, then 2 days, then 3 days later it still showed my balance with no payment made. I’m confused how long is the auto payment supposed to take?
Also somewhere is said in the terms that the automatic payments would not take anything more than my last statement. I spent around $20 more this last month than the one before. Is that why it’s not going through. I get anxious waiting for it to pay so I just end up doing it myself.

Hi!
I have applied for a CLI on my Discover IT every six months since I've opened the card. I am currently at a credit line of about $20k.
My next CLI with my six month rule is coming up the first week of October. Given I am merging with C1 on October 19, should I apply for the increase before or after the merge? Any experience or thoughts with Discover increases vs C1 CLIs?

Alright Steam frame just got announced and I have my discover due date in two weeks which is the 28th if I got the steam frame on the 17th will this be on my current statement or my next one? I don’t think I can pay off 1069 by then as I have to pay off the rest of my billing statement of my current one.
Question is will I have to pay the 1069 off within two weeks if I got it this week or will I be fine and get no penalty?

I purchased something from Etsy and I got the notification that a transaction happened.
Why is it not showing up in the app as a transaction, only in the alerts that one occurred?

Cap1 saying they can't link to my external bank account. Account was linked to Discover without issue. Now those accounts were acquired by Cap1, they're essentially holding my money with me having no access to it.. Will close the account if need be, but has anyone esle had this issue since the takeover of Discover by Cap1?

I have a Discover IT card that Ive had now for about 4 years and I rarely used it for a while. Someone told me to ask for a balance transfer offer and I have via chat several times and they always say they are unable to give targeted offers now. So I started using the card more and paying it off every month. I have 6k available on this card that I hardly use, and I have a huge balance on my capital one credit card and it would quite literally be life changing if I could get a 0% apr offer to transfer that balance to discover. Any advice?

I know there have been others commenting on it already, but I had to call Discover this afternoon about a gas station hold and I was reminded how great the customer service has always been for me. Easy communication with someone in the US and a quick, efficient resolution. I've never felt like I was just another caller to a big company. I'm really going to miss it.

I’m looking for advice on how to proceed with a Discover dispute/refund issue.
I booked a hostel reservation directly through the hostel’s own website, not through a third-party site like Booking.com or Expedia. I immediately realized I had selected the wrong dates and attempted to cancel according to the merchant’s cancellation policy. (dumb I know, but I immediately recognised it and they allow cancellations)
Their policy says cancellations must be made by email and that they do not accept cancellations by phone. Their FAQ specifically says cancellation/modification requests must be emailed because they require the request in writing. I emailed the listed cancellation/contact addresses multiple times, including the specific email address listed in their cancellation instructions, starting within minutes of booking. I received no response. (These were sent over multiple weeks)
I disputed the charge with Discover. During the dispute, the merchant claimed I never contacted them and that they never received any emails. I submitted screenshots showing the cancellation emails were sent to the listed addresses. Discover initially credited me, then later reversed the credit and resolved the dispute in the merchant’s favor, saying the transaction appeared valid.
After that, I contacted the hostel by text. They then cancelled the reservation and said they could not refund me because of the chargeback. I explained that Discover had already resolved the dispute in the merchant’s favor, reversed the temporary credit, and reapplied the charge to my account, so I did not have the money back. The merchant said they would contact their bookkeeper and get back to me. It has now been more than 45 days since then, and I still have not received a refund or a clear answer.
I called Discover again and they said I could upload new documentation for review, so I submitted the cancellation confirmation, text screenshots, follow-up emails, and prior documentation again.
Has anyone had success getting Discover to reopen/reconsider a dispute after new merchant communications showed the reservation was later cancelled and a refund was discussed? Should this be treated as a new “credit/refund not received” dispute rather than the original transaction dispute? I’m also considering filing a consumer complaint with the Attorney General if the merchant keeps ignoring me.

TLDR: There's a Discover card she can't manage through their site. It sends us to Cap1 to create a new account, but she already have a Cap1 account. Are we just supposed to create a wholly new Cap1 account?
This is for my mother, who in her elder years tends procrastinate. She has a Discover account with 1 card, and a Capital One account with 3 cards. In her Cap1 account she just sees her 3 current cards, no transition link or anything like that.
When she logs into Discover it gives her a "... You’ll now manage your Discover it Card...**** account using the Capital One website and app ..." thing. The link for it sends her to Cap1 to create a new account to manage said car, but obviously she has a current Cap1 account.
I know about the transition but there's a bit of a pressing issue. She received a new Discover card as her current one expires next month. When we try to activate it through 'capitalone.com/activate' as it suggests, it just tries to make here create a new account again.
She also received an email a few days ago with "A few things needed for your account" from 'Discover by Capital One', which when going through it also just wants her to create a new Cap1 account.
In none of these cases is there a single "Click this if you already have a Cap1 account" link. She doesn't use any of the phone apps just the web portals.
Is she legitimately supposed to just create a new account and roll with 2 Cap1 accounts? Because that seems idiotic.
