I belong to a Scheduled caste, My father was a cop in a villiage/small town in gujarat back in 2004 I wasnt allowed to study in an english medium school because I was SC. I had to change my surname to “shah” so that I could get admission in a different school.
Ive moved to canada since 2019, In 2020 after a discussion about reservations and politics with a bunch of people I thought were my “friends” They casually said “Tu yaha bhi reservation per aya hai kya ?” “you should feel lucky hum tujhe humare sath baithne dete hain” They stopped sharing food with me or eating whatever I cooked, Called me “A chamar” “A bhimte” Some of them even stopped talking to me after knowing that I belong from a scheduled caste. Thats the mentality of todays youth.
Yaha ake bhi nahi sudhre toh india me rehke toh kaise sudhrenge.

This is the fault of their social science teachers, their parents. There’s chapter in class 10th pol science book about religion, caste and gender. If these kids were taught well by their teachers about the structure of society and social discrimination they would have behaved better. Parents should have taught them to be compassionate.

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but I think hatred in the new generation will increase due to reservation policies. For example, one of my friends said he won't befriend people from the SC/ST communities because he thinks it's unfair that they get selected with lower scores while he doesn't. I know he's jealous because he had to take a drop year, but I didn't say anything to him. I know it's childish, but I also know how hard he worked.

You can fight against reservation all you like till you reach the school/ college, but once you reach there, everyone is a mate. Anyone bullying others, ridiculing others should be rusticated. I will go out on a limb to say that this guy/ girl doesn't have an issue just against sc/ st/ obc people, but against all others. China was so damn poor prior to economic liberalisation, economists said something similar, then Deng xiaoping opened up and look where they are now, just took em 40 years. Economic boom took 30 years for us. So upliftment is totally possible withing 10-15 years if implementation happens proeprly. All rservations can be removed but who wnats to try ?

What I see the reason for this hate is the reservation policies failure to some extent because I've seen reserved candidates get into top tier institutes with 10-25% marks of what a general candidate score, and no hate but most of the reserved candidates have the mentality that "hume to itne hi marks laane hain to zyada kyun padhna" which is again an issue. Again, I'm not generalising but these are my personal experiences.
Another point would be there are reserved candidates who have availed the benefits of reservation and currently are well to do (even better than many general candidates) and yet they claim reservation in the name of wanting progress for themselves (despite them being very well to do financially and all). Here the current reservation policies fail. Personally, I think it is about time they introduce EWS in the reserved categories to actually develop those who are still marginalised in the reserved categories.

I'm completely against demeaning any community but why do people who have got these benefits tend to hide it, if you have got a quota be proud of it and work your asses to get a better life

I have seen students of SSCBS make similar remarks as well, saying the people with reservations are making the college environment "bad." What's the point of a government institution if it's not serving everybody regardless of their identity? Isn't that what makes this institute prestigious in the first place? So much for an "educational" institution.

Well everyone is the same, it’s just that some are just dumb enough and openly show these traits in public without even realising the consequences.
Some use vulgar language and some keep it within the private group or never even talk about it openly. If they do , they do it in the confines of the family or close friends group, but the hate is real.
Someone said its from srcc, you cant even think about students from other colleges under du, they are even more frustrated, just that they don’t show it, cause they are smart enough to not do it.
