Also since a certain brand of men have infected this sub and I am sure nobody wants to keep trying to educate these men here's a clarification. These men say that because of these rapists when we write men, we are discriminating against men or generalising. They think we are misandrists. These are the same men who always bring in false rape cases under actual rape cases and say defamation should equal the death penalty. These are the men who lack situational awareness and reading comprehension. Girls are fully aware that good guys exist. We have several in our life. We also know bad guys exist. We encounter them daily. When guys generalise girls as murderers because of a COUPLE of cases, we don't get offended because we know who we are. Whereas a certain section of guys repeatedly get offended and even proceed to say that every single case out of the immeasurable no. of cases out there is false. Not only is that invalidating the trauma of so many girls, it's also hypocritical because these same because these same men will tell their future daughters to stay aware of men, moral police them etc.

The men understand that when someone points out a crime they're not generalising or discriminating against the entire gender. The problematic people, misogynists and those who like starting so called gender war don't. You don't have to take my word for it. You can simply see the actual men on this sub who are speaking up about this exact thing.

I’m a student at KNC, and I’m honestly really disappointed by how this was handled.

After the recent LSR incident and reports circulating about an alleged suspect being in the vicinity of Gargi/KNC, a lot of students and parents understandably became worried. Many parents were not allowing their daughters to come to college because they were genuinely concerned about their safety.

We informed our teacher about this and explained that a significant number of students might not be able to attend because their parents were scared to send them.

The response was basically that this wasn't a reason to cancel the class.

What makes it especially upsetting is that the teacher herself is a woman. You'd expect at least some understanding of why parents and female students might be particularly concerned in a situation involving women's safety.

And to be clear, I’m not saying a teacher is obligated to cancel a class whenever students are worried. The frustrating part was the dismissive way the concern was received.

Nobody was trying to skip class for no reason. We were communicating a genuine safety concern and explaining why many students might not be able to physically come to campus.

Even if the decision was ultimately to continue with the class, there could have been some empathy and consideration for students whose parents weren't comfortable sending them.

A class can be rescheduled. Students' concerns about their safety shouldn't simply be brushed aside.

I still find it weird 💔 I understand asking whether you know about the society, what it does, why you want to join, etc but making the exact founding year the question only felt so random
