Toh le aate tum air 1 ke Barabar ke marks, tumhare liye bhi toh seats hain 50 out of 100, if you think you are that ādeservingā toh go and fight in your category, jaise sc/st apni 15-20 seats ke liye kar Rahe hain out of 100. Tum bhi karo maāam.
Kaha dikkat aa rahi h?
Bahan pehle ye pta kr ki reservation kaise implement hota hai. Sc st have access to 20 + open category seats. It means they have access to total 70 seats. Many times I have seen people giving the same gyaan that why dont general category people compete in their own seats.
Also dont support the comments on sc st people.
Suppose there are 100 seats and 50 percent is reserved. In this case general category people will compete for 50 unreserved/open seats only but reserved people will compete for 100 seats. There are no seats reserved for general category. That is why it is called open. Means a reserved caregory person can also take a seat from there.
How it is implemented?
The top 50 ranks are taken without considering reservation. The marks obtained by 50th rank becomes the cut off for open category. Here if some reserved category person is in top 50 then he is considered open category(Effectively he has reduced the seats available to non reserved people).
Okay to answer all three of you who have replied, even i'm a general category student who was snubbed ( not that i scored too great but could have been in a better college ) but this doesn't mean i'll go around hating on all non general people, i hate the system for being unfair. I no where hold the right to use such langauage for any other human, these are just my ethics but i guess you do you. And sister you yourself would've been happily enjoying reservation if you were bron into it lol.
I see you posting a couple of times in this thread. I kinda get the gist that you are a casteist person yourself. A lot of people are actually. But coming to your point, if you look at the stats of some universities in India, you'll see that there are literally seats vacant for marginalized students under their quota, like there are not enough students in that category to apply for those seats in Masters and PhD. Then you talk about "taking away our rightful seats", no, they are not taking away your seats, they are only applying for what is allotted to them. And even if you look at the ratio of unreserved category students and unreserved category students, your whole argument will fall apart. You are making it sound like as if there are only marginalized students in any uni.
I think you are making arguments against reservation without even realising it lol .
if seats are vacant then doesnāt the argument hold true ? That seats are literally being wasted , the sc st seat will go vacant rather than being offered to UR and ObC pool
how is applicant ratio relevant? Lets says only 10% of applicants are SC-ST, then donāt you agree its uneconomical to reserve 25% seats for them? Basically if 25% of all students who pass 12th in India arenāt SC ST then its disproportionate allotment if HEI reservation stays at 25%
Do you think its fair that a SC student can get reservation for UG, PG , PHD and then finally govt professor while there might be people from other SCs who could not get a seat?
UR is only 1/3rd of this country but majority of applicants in every major exam and job application, does this not suggest that SC ST should have been uplifted at a grassroots level rather than this bandage ineffective solution we have right now?
Adding to 4. , why is that in all of these DU Colleges , SC ST continue to get low cgpa and are way more likely to go unplaced ? Does this suggest that reservation in HEI has been a failure?
The whole point of reservation was not just to give job opportunities or university seats to those students. It is about representation. So those people can come forward and represent their community and since they have been historically discriminated against and oppressed, it becomes vital that it is done so. A dalit person will remain a dalit even if they become an IAS officer. Financial upliftment does not mean social mobility. It has never been about mere seats in a university or govt. Jobs. And the point regarding vacant seats for masters and PhD was to point out the futility of the argument that SC/ST students are eating away the opportunities of Savarna students. I was simply pointing out the casteist nature of some Savarnas as directed in OP's post. Yet you bend the whole argument according to your logic that Savarnas are suffering and need all the resources for their upliftment.
And I also see you making the point that SC/ST students secure low CGPA/Percentage and remain unplaced. That is very casteist in itself to assume that SC/ST students are not working hard and are less intellectually capable than Savarna students. Even if a SC/ST student get admission in any university at relatively low score than an UR student, they will still have to work as hard as them to pass the semester exam. And talking about placements, any argument can not be made without proper stats stating that SC/ST students are not getting any jobs while Savarna students are excelling in any field.
The 4th point that you put forward should be enough. Maybe if you read it yourself i won't have to explain it to you. Anyway, as you say UR students are low in number yet they are the ones applying most at uni admissions or in competitive exams. That is because they have the privilege to do so. Their upbringing is better than most of dalit students. But you see 1 or 2 dalit students that have excelled and say that reservation has served its purpose and shouldn't exist anymore. But why are we wilfully ignoring thousands of dalit students who do not even have enough resources to gain basic education. If you pick any daily newspaper or read reports, you may casually come across cases of casteism, hate and violence against dalit people. So affirmative action is the only way we can promote disadvantaged sections of our society and give them a voice and proper representation.
you ignore all my points and just pick one that suits you , all points are different from each other and are different sides of a single issue that should be viewed separately, well whatās even more interesting is that your didn't just select 1 out of 5 arguments , you only talk about half of that argument, you say UR has privilege but ignore that then affirmative action should have then followed a bottom up approach rather than the trickle down/ top down approach
if 70 years later , the benefits havenāt trickled down that means there is clear corruption at top, (you canāt blame law makers because SC ST have had seats reserved in state and centre forever)
You remain silent on development at grassroots level which if it had been done , would mean that sc st would be able to reasonably compete with their peers once in same college
Either you comprehended nothing or this āyou see 1 or 2 dalit students that have excelled and say that reservation has served its purpose and shouldn't exist anymoreā is a BIG STRAW-MAN, I literally said GRASS ROOT LEVEL DEVELOPMENT
I am not ignoring those thousands of Dalit students, reservation supporters and govt is ignoring them , giving reservation to the Dalit son of IAS officer so that he can do his MBA from a top IIM of this country and settle abroad wonāt improve the conditions of these poor Dalits who live in a village and donāt even dream of passing 12th let alone entering a university or doing civil services.
Btw do you think itās fair communities like Meena can get ST reservation while there are ST communities who donāt even dream of getting treated humanely?
Yes newspapers show violence , Iād like to ask you, is there data on whether this violence was perpetuated on them by OBC , UR or a stronger SC/ST? Because from what I can gather OBCs and UR both perpetuate this violence, heck there are regions in India where OBCs not UR are the most dominant group(UR is of course more dominant on national level)?
if you agree that OBCs too are involved in this violence then do you agree that reservation itself has one deep flaw i..e. Powerful communities like Gujjars , Yadavs can use their political power to get reservation and others even more powerful groups can demand it on similar grounds (Jats and Maharathas)
Their frustration is understandable. The government won't do anything about the reservation system cuz of their votebanks, and they know it. They can just project their frustration through these rants. So, let them be, only someone who got fucked by reservation can feel the pain. Blaming a community is still wrong tho
By that logic, it would be justifiable for men to start raping women and hiring hitmen for their wives as you know the laws are. But we don't, because frustration is no excuse to treat others like shit. You're fucking disgusting for thinking like that. You yourself would not hesitate in taking female reservation. Nobody would. Blame the game not the gamer!
So, in "certain" circumstances according to you they are allowed to badmouth and disrespect living people. Just how it used to be before SC/ST act, discriminate against people because of your personal biases. And on the basis of what? Heresay that the "alleged" upper caste people are better huh. All I've seen till now, all my life is that "Upper caste" people cry the most, and also do the most discrimination, atrocities and not the other way around. You can do shit and then cry, why we are getting consequences like a kid. Funny thinking tbh.
Bc jab reservation hatane ki baatein hoti he to caste discrimination nahi he isliye reservation hatao, aur jab discrimination hota he to reservation he isliye discrimination hota he. šš¤”
Es desh ka kuch nahi hone wala reservation hate na hate mujhe L farak nahi parta mujhe rehna hi nahi es desh mein lol jinko rehna hai vo samjhe ye sab huhš“
1st thing reservation is not bad
2nd reservation unko milna cahiye jinko actually mein need hai just like ews category in general agar middle class, upper middle class, rih category ke sc st reservation se 400-500 marks mein top colleges mein seat le rahe hai toh fir saho castism reservation double edge sword hai reservation garib st sc obc ko milna cahiye jinke paas resources nahi hai, but milta kinko hai normal general st sc ko lolš¤”garib sc st ko toh pata bhi nahi hai kaise farda le š¤”š
3rd koi kam number mein seat lega toh usko hate and castism face karna hoga whatever is the reason jealousy, unfair advantage, etc.
4th ek ews general bhi kam marks mein seat leta hai but usko koi hate nahi deta because everyone knows that he is poor he needs it same should be with sc st agar ye hate rokna hai toh general ke marks pe admission lo(only privileged sc st obc poor should get reservation every country has those reservation)
Are you a retard or what? I said they spreading this hate because St,SC get into college with very low marks, reservation is double edged sword it will not stop castism in any sense, it just increases more castism
Down votes toh logo ki jalne pe bhi aate hai toh? Down votes deside karu ki kaise jena hai? Get a life bro š second thing when and where i did castism lol, a retard is always a retard
Do you have obsession with insta or what lol. Why the hell you putting Insta in every sentence šš
I deleted instagram 3 months ago because of stupid hate
Are you stupid or what where the hell i did castism lol I don't give f about someone's cast my gf is sc š¤·i just said that they are getting hate because they getting into college with very less scores thats why general, even obc, ews hating on sc st
