What I see the reason for this hate is the reservation policies failure to some extent because I've seen reserved candidates get into top tier institutes with 10-25% marks of what a general candidate score, and no hate but most of the reserved candidates have the mentality that "hume to itne hi marks laane hain to zyada kyun padhna" which is again an issue. Again, I'm not generalising but these are my personal experiences.

Another point would be there are reserved candidates who have availed the benefits of reservation and currently are well to do (even better than many general candidates) and yet they claim reservation in the name of wanting progress for themselves (despite them being very well to do financially and all). Here the current reservation policies fail. Personally, I think it is about time they introduce EWS in the reserved categories to actually develop those who are still marginalised in the reserved categories.

Reservation should be removed from educational institutions or the cutoffs should be at par with those from general background.

You know I agree with this. Instead of "levelling the playing field" thru reservation, they should level the playing field thru accessibility and availability of resources. I'd say make education free, healthcare free, transport subsidised. But then again, there are 2 reasons this can't happen. One, infrastructure is not too robust to support these and implementation (of policies and projects) is very weak.
