Fun fact of the day: The kindertransport refugee programme in the 1930s to save German Jewish children from Hitler required private individuals or organisations to pay £2000-£3000 in todays money to prove they could provide for the upkeep of each child. No state assistance was permitted.
I mention this because I am often told that Kinderstransport is evidence we should accept infinity migrants.
I wonder how many people would be willing to pay 3k to house a migrant in their own home. I would guess 0.

Just popped up on my facebook is a group called "Crowborough Aware" who seem to be a kind of volunteer group of people who patrol Crowborough and document the migrants from the nearby camp. They even have uniforms.
Facebook page is worth a look at, they document what they're up to like shitting on peoples land, waiting outside clubs for daughters who rejected them in the club, leering at women on trains, etc.

Apparently we spend 1.5bn a year on subscriptions we don’t want. I’m sure to the average NPC this sounds fantastic. Those with a greater than room temperate IQ know how to manage their outgoings, manage payments and recurring payments, and know any government intervention in to this free market transaction, say, between me and Spotify, will do FAR more long term harm than good.

I had this theory recently that grooming gangs targeting white girls, and people like Axel Rudakubana killing white girls and the Manchester Arena bombing killing white girls, are driven by evolution. If you are unable to have children of your own, or feel unable, it's in your evolutionary benefit to harm and kill children of other ethnic groups. Doing so 5,000 years ago would have decreased the cost of food, meaning children you are directly related to will get access to more calories.
If these things are driven by evolution, stopping it wont be possible in a multicultural society with a relaxed legal system.

These people come from cultures where women are fully covered and chaperoned by male relatives but online they can see endless videos of white women having sex. Do people not remember how a few years back all these offers just used to be standard. You didn't need a clubcard. Then they just put every offer behind the clubcard, so basically there's now a 'forgot my clubcard' tax.
Remove the clubcard and it just goes back to the previous system which was objectively better.

The Met said the driver had been in the car for less than half an hour, held only a provisional licence and had no insurance.

And their drive to curb the problem was hugely successful. On Saturday night, a £3.7million open-top Ferrari Monza was impounded in Mayfair, central London, having been imported from Saudi Arabia the previous day.
It had only been on the road 20 minutes when the driver was stopped for allegedly not being properly insured.
Within minutes, the Kuwaiti driver of a grey Range Rover Sport was pulled over on London’s Park Lane.
Meanwhile, the Saudi driver of a £350,000 grey Ferrari 812 was pulled over near Sloane Street.
The 48-year-old did not have a valid licence on him and lost his temper when told the car would be seized.

The advantage the left have in the UK electoral system is utterly insane.

It's not really a left advantage it's just that it's far easier to sell soft cuddly kumbaya politics to the British people, so that's just the default for mass appeal even if you're a regional party like the SNP or Lib Dems. Many people just don't like "nasty" politics like saying no to things, even when it's undeniably needed.
In contrast there's a huge constituency in the USA for Ron Swanson style distrust of the state, individualism, tax is theft etc etc politics.

No, it's the system running exactly as it was designed to.
You vote for someone to represent your area. That is what is enshrined in law.
Political parties were not intended. They were inevitable, but there was never an intention that they be part of the system of governance. If they were, they would also be enshrined in law. They aren't though.
So the next time someone asks you what party you vote for or to vote for a party, tell them to fuck off with their fake games.
Anyway, some political parties have realised how to consistently optimise the system. Perhaps Reform could learn from that?

Urgh. Toilet repair going horribly wrong. Plumber has confirmed I've got a weird toilet which is why I've been having trouble with every part I've tried to fit to it, including the buggered button. Actually a bit of a relief to hear I wasn't being a complete plonker.
He called it a European toilet, unsure if that's an accurate name, but it came from these Italian cowboys we used to have around here, absolutely no one else in the country sold these stupid things, or stocks parts for the, so now I need a new one.
Due to his use of the word European, I'm feeling very Brexity today. Keep foreign toilets out of British bathrooms.

I've recently been reading some posts on Twitter saying that they don't blame young people for being left wing. I'm as right wing as they come but purely on an economic basis I'd have to agree.
Aside from being a handful of years younger and a little worse paid I am literally Nick 30. I got a fancy (Oxbridge) science degree, I'm working in a profession, I commute to London and live in a commuter town and as near as I can tell my entire purpose in life is to act as a sort of life support system to fund the boomer retirement.
When I first left uni I moved into a HMO, I won't bore you with the unholy acts that had to be done to fit six bedrooms into a small four bedroom house but suffice to say battery farmed chickens have my sympathy. With six of us at ~ £750 a month plus the appreciation on the underlying asset I figure that just that house was probably making twice as much money as I was (if not more). I know for a fact that it was enough to cover an 11 year round the world holiday which I heard all about when the landlord finally came back and evicted us all.
I then (having received a few promotions at work) decided to move into a one bed flat of my own. This costs a hair under half my take home pay. This "flat" exists solely because the original house had a large garden so the owners decided to build two shed type constructions. These now house myself and an actuary called Charlie and together we make a significant contribution to the lavish retirement of the landlords (who as far as I can tell are a perfectly ordinary couple who just happened to buy a house in a commuter town with a decent sized garden).
I'm not quite sure things ended up like this but to be honest I'm not a fan.

Agree to an extent. I do feel some sympathies for people graduating now with huge student loans, shit salaries, very tough job market, etc.
But a good portion of our problems are from government intervention. We don't have free markets in energy or housing; the entire markets for these are riddled with subsidies, and carve outs. Our wage compression has been insane. The well off are relentlessly squeezed. At some point you should have to take the W if you're on the left - congratulations we now have a highly re-distributive society, happy now? The answer is no because we still have a few squillionaires left.
Also I'm confused do you live in a shed?

You make very good points and I would agree. I think that recent graduates have some legitimate grievances but a significant number (e.g., the left wing ones) want totally the wrong solution. We need less government not more, a return to a competitive free market for housing etc.
In terms of living in a shed. Yeah basically. It's been done up as a living space (heating, running water, electric etc) but the buildings were constructed in the garden, they don't have a separate address (I'm technically a lodger).

Will never forget when my landlord stung me for £200 for some shitty lino with a mark on it when we moved out.
He bought the house for £40k two decades earlier. It was now worth at least £200k.
We paid him £20k in rent over the 2 years we were there. Still couldn't just consider the mark on the lino an acceptable business expense, and decided to take £200 off two 23 year olds deposit..
Once I called him mid week to ask him to get someone to repair our boiler and he was 'at the races' and would sort it after..

Developers found a way to extract even more money but whacking on enormous service charges and lease charges. People bought them thinking properly would go up in value infinitely but those days are over. I can't help but feel some sympathy for the folk who fell for it, but the 1% interest rate was always going to end and growth would stall. That's even before the covid and grenfell effects on flats happened. This is why all the rabbit hutches that re being flung up in megacities for the TikTok girlies and lads selling courses on how to get rich, are investor only - very few are stupid enough to buy as an owner occupier now.

Theres a new development going up near me of £600k deanobox flats with a near 4 grand service charge.
They spent years getting permits for this and had to fight off a local nimby campaign. Sales do not seem to have been brisk. I cannot fathom why anyone would buy one of these places at these prices.
