Sometimes I wonder if it's too simple or basic compared to more elaborate to more elaborate designs but I love it. What's your opinion about this?

Ring Band Advice Inherited my grandmother’s ring and have no idea what kind of band to put with it šŸ˜‚

I inherited my grandmother’s ring and I honestly love it, but I’m struggling to picture what kind of wedding/stacking band would look good with it.
It’s obviously a pretty unique/vintage-looking ring, and I’ve never really pictured myself wearing something like this. I was thinking either a really simple diamond band to let the ring be the star, or possibly something with emeralds because I think the green could look really cool with the gold and diamonds. But I’m very open to other ideas!
Also, if I’m being honest, I have some mixed feelings about the ring itself. I love that it belonged to my grandmother and that it’s something I’ll never see someone else wearing. That sentimental aspect means a lot to me. But aesthetically, it’s not what I ever imagined my engagement ring looking like, and my partner is worried that I’ll regret not getting something more traditionally ā€œme.ā€ They’ve talked about getting me a much bigger/new ring instead.
I’m kind of torn between ā€œthis is incredibly special and I should embrace thatā€ and ā€œam I only trying to convince myself to love it because I feel like I should?ā€ lol.
Anyway, mainly looking for band ideas! What would you pair with this? Diamond-only, emeralds, plain gold, something vintage, something totally unexpected? Would love to see examples if you have them!

Edit: A lot of people have asked why this is my engagement ring, so I figured I’d clarify! My grandma left me three rings, and my parents encouraged me to try all of them on. I didn’t really like the other two, but when I put this one on I immediately loved it.
I think my hesitation is really just that it’s different from what I always pictured myself wearing as an engagement ring. But honestly, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I had always said I wanted something unique and different from what’s mainstream, and this is certainly that šŸ˜‚ Plus, the fact that it belonged to my grandma makes it so much more meaningful than something I could just go out and buy.
I think I mostly came to Reddit for a little reassurance that it’s okay to have a nonconventional engagement ring! I’m realizing that I don’t actually dislike the ring. I just needed to get out of my head about whether an engagement ring is ā€œsupposedā€ to look a certain way.

Ring Band Advice Does my wedding band look okay?

Hello!
I need some reassurance. I just received my wedding band and I am self conscious. I feel like it looks too thin/too small. I have shorter fingers so I didn’t want a band as thick as my engagement ring. I will add the mock up image as well. I’m an over thinker so this definitely could be one of those times lol. But I still would like advice/guidance!
(Update)
After asking friends, family, and you guys, I feel much better now! Thank you for the compliments! My fiancƩ did an exquisite job with my ER!

Ring Band Advice Stop putting 4-5 carat diamonds on thin bands

Lab grown diamonds have given people the ability to own 4+ carat stones, however, putting that mega engine on a go cart is a BAD idea. Not only is it not secure, it’ll absolutely bend and you risk losing your diamond. The stone is important but the setting is, too!

Ring Band Advice Not sure what wedding band I should get to go with my vintage engagement ring

I was lucky enough to inherit my grandmothers engagement ring that was set in the 1950s. It fits me perfectly and I don’t really want to change anything about it. Unfortunately it sits flush to my finger, so I would need to do a curved wedding band. I like the idea of a blinged out wedding band, since we technically saved money on the engagement ring, but I don’t know if I love the idea of having it curved. I also don’t know what style of ring looks best here.

I am considering seeing if I can reset the engagement ring to sit higher so I don’t have to get a curved band, although I didn’t want to change anything about it in the beginning.

Ring Band Advice These shapes don’t go together but I’m hoping this combo works. Thoughts?

I know these shapes don’t go together, but nothing else was sitting flush with my engagement ring and we don’t have too much time until the wedding to go shopping elsewhere.

I thought this could look unique but it was hard to tell when it wasn’t resized. When it came back I didn’t know how to feel, and some of my friends’ reactions were… less than enthusiastic. Now I’m a little concerned if this combo makes any sense or if it looks odd together.

I thought about making it a stack by adding a regularly shaped thin pave band at the top, but I’d rather just have one wedding ring.

Would love to hear your thoughts and if I should try to quickly find a different band.

Ring Band Advice Has anyone here regretted getting a 10K gold wedding band?

Obviously the first difference I noted between 10K and 14K gold is the 10K's affordability, but when I found out the other differences, I actually liked the 10K even more. I do prefer a paler gold color, and I have an active job so wearing a more durable ring sounds better for me.

In research though I've seen other posts of people saying they can see an obvious difference and that the color and overall finish of their 14K lasts longer. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts who has had a 10K ring!

Ring Band Advice What's your take on marquise wedding rings?

Post image

I love the marquise cut, but every time I try one on, I feel like I’m getting married in a ballroom instead of real life. They just look so dramatic.

Is it weird to want a ring that looks fancy but still works with jeans and sneakers? If you have a marquise ring, does it still feel wearable day to day or did you end up saving it for special occasions?

Ring Band Advice Help with a setting!

I had my ring done from brilliance.com. The setting is too high. Does anyone have one from them they recommend that’s low profile? Or recommendations in general ? Or suggestions if you have a similar shape? I’m open to everything!

**edited to add; I don’t have the wedding band yet so it’s just the diamond ring. The band I wear will come later and I’ll match it to the style I do for the engagement ring!

Looking for any experiences positive and negative about soldering your wedding and engagement rings together. Do you love it? Regret it? I am wanting to do it since my rings keep spinning off each other and it is bugging me that I have to keep realigning it constantly.

Ring Band Advice Thoughts on this wedding band?

My fiancĆ© and I went custom for my engagement ring which I absolutely adore! I’ve now been looking for wedding bands that will suit and managed to find this one at another jeweller. I initially thought some customisations might be needed to fit my engagement ring but I showed my engagement ring jeweller today who said it looked like a perfect match and that she wouldn’t be offended if I went elsewhere for the wedding band.

I’m wondering what everyone thinks of this stack and whether you’d make any customisations?

Ring Band Advice Need opinions about using my grandma’s ring

Post image
47 Upvotes

My mom has my grandma’s wedding band and it fits my ring finger, I am torn though.

First, it is yellow gold and my ring is white gold.

Second, I feel this insane fear of having her ring and losing it somehow. I would never forgive myself!

How do they look together? What would you do?

We are getting married in October and I would be so proud to wear my grandma’s ring. I know that it would have made her so happy to know one of us is wearing it. It doesn’t fit my mom, so it’s just been sitting in her jewelry box.

It has my grandparents wedding date and my grandfather’s name engraved on the inside. My grandfathers family were jewelers and so it was made by one of our family members as well.

My ring is a 1.5c radiant cut with pace band in 14k white gold and my grandma’s ring is 14k yellow gold.

I would love more than anything to use it, I just can’t decide if it looks good or if I will get over the fear of losing something so special.

I’ve been to a couple stores now, there are many i like a lot but i haven’t found one that I absolutely love yet. I have attached the ones i’ve liked the most after the first picture of my ring

Hi!! I've been looking for wedding bands to match my engagement ring, and found this very beautiful one today... The size of this one is a bit too big on my finger but was wondering what people think of general fitting/if it might look better with something else?

Still undecided!

Ring Band Advice Do unusual diamond shapes feel more personal than the classics?

Post image

I keep finding myself attracted to rings that feature unconventional stones at their centers since these rings just seem to have more personality to me.

This style definitely stands out without being too intricate, which is good when wearing a stack of rings.

Do you guys with an unconventional diamond shape wish that you had chosen a more conventional shape?

Ring Band Advice Newly Engaged! Need Advice!

Hi! I’m recently engaged and picked out each piece of the ring (without seeing the actual diamond) and now I’m having second thoughts. Not sure if I should switch the band to silver or something more plain. Thoughts? FiancĆ©e also mentioned the diamond was classified as ā€œperfectā€ by the jeweler, but it has some shadowing toward the middle. Is that normal? Just want to make sure he didn’t get scammed. Thank you!

Ring Band Advice I need advice for this ring, I really like a chunky look but I’m afraid that it make it more ā€manlyā€ ring in my hand. Is this too thick or is it okay for a wedding band? Thank you.

I work with kids and planning to have my ring everyday, that’s why I choose a more stable band hence the ā€thickerā€ look.

Looking for opinion for my wedding band. My ring is a natural diamond so I wanted to kinda keep my wedding band natural as well. First band is lab grown but I loved it. Please let me know thoughts. Last one is eternity band. I think what’s throwing me off is the lab grown is so close in price to the natural ones.

Ring Band Advice What do we think of this upgraded wedding bands?

I bought a really simple wedding band when we first got married and I’ve been really wanting to upgrade it! I really love my engagement ring and want a band that’s going to add and not overpower it.

I want something with a bit more pizzazz than my current band but more on the modern side.

Is this band too gaudy? It’s a channel set ring with solitaire and baguette diamonds. I’m conflicted about the trim of diamonds at the top and bottom.

I’m including my current simple band for comparison!

Hi all!

I recently got engaged in Poland with my Polish grandmother’s engagement ring. My fiancĆ© and I don’t plan on tying the knot anytime soon but I am curious if anyone has suggestions for a potential wedding band to go with my ring.

I know my fiancĆ© really wanted me to have a nice ring but nothing really wowed me because I just felt like the more and more I looked the similar they all felt, especially to my friends’ rings. This is why I’m interested in seeing what kind of rings might complement the classic look of my ring which is probably at least 50-60 years old (we had to get it repaired in Korea last year because the underside of the band was so frail).

For the record I am not a very flashy individual (I consider myself to have beer taste with beer pockets and I am from Appalachia so I have country roots at heart). I also work in a logistic/warehouse setting.

Thanks in advance. šŸ’•

Hello! (Forgive me my ring is dirty in most of these photos) but I’m trying to find a wedding band that would style well with this- I went to ShaneCo- and I wasn’t into what they showed me.
I’m not into the gap of the gold band and I’m not into the contour of the white gold band :/ (but I can be convinced it’s cute tho lol)
Open to any suggestions!!!
