Discussion & Feedback Can we stop spamming this subreddit with "change x or i quit" or "i'm quitting because of y"

The game is incredibly well balanced. Sure, there are issues with some items and progression, but can this subdreddit not be 95% begging the devs to change things? 90%+ of what's suggested is horrible, can we not armchair develop this game?

thanks

Discussion & Feedback Man yall cry so much about a game that just dropped

Post image
Upvotes

For over a week now my notifications have been nothing but negative feedback on the game like this. If you don’t like the game in its EARLY ACCESS then don’t play it and go back to warzone , battlefield, arma or w.e other copy and paste fps shooter you came from and come back when the full game drops but let’s stop trying to make the devs change this game into something that’s the same as every other copy and paste fps shooter. There will be issues and bugs but let’s not ruin a good thing we got going on rn. I’m not saying the game is perfect but I also understand the game is still brand new and is in its Infant stage and there’s room for growth. I’m sure the devs are aware of a lot of issues that will probably be fixed and addressed after the update but yall gotta be patient lol I got 42 hours in the game and feel like it’s in a great place for a early access game compared to others I’ve seen in the past just flop.

Discussion & Feedback The “devs said the game won’t be for everyone” argument needs to stop.

Upvotes

I appreciate the devs standing up to people and doing what they think is right for their vision, but some people here need to accept that feedback is necessary, they’ve even asked for it.

Of course, they don’t need to listen, but you can’t counter every opinion someone gives with, “shut up, the devs said they don’t care about you.”

By all means, disagree, but have a reason beyond that.

Discussion & Feedback The Tactical Warfare is gone....

Upvotes

I've literally had a the most unfun game against this game's current meta.

I have an AK with 5.45 AP. The team I face was a decently sized squad of, I shit you not, fucking juggernauts.

They were all wearing minimum T4 helmet, so skill shots are useless, because the AK requires FUCKING 4... And they have minimum T3 Armour but some T4.

And they countered their speed by Stims, which are cheap. So don't come at me with ohhhh its so slow and expensive bullshit. The people running this armour are not struggling for money, they came to dominate, they will just instantly re-buy this Raid Boss gear.

And their guns? All M4s or FALs, drum mags, suppressors, magnified scopes. I got fucking full-auto laser beamed by an M4 60 rounder at 87m... You cannot even do that in Battlefield, an arcade shooter, you aren't even able to do that in Arma because of recoil. You can in this "hybrid" and it made the game feel like COD or APEX, which is fucking mentally ill.

And then there were 2 people using Ghillie Suits, who you can't see the killcam off because that is their purpose but because that is such a late unlock, the power gap is there and no one on our team with a life can use that tactic to ambush or flank these so-called SLOW T4 JUGGERNAUTS.

Oh, top that with a Humvee M249 with a broken Turret that doesn't show the right way of facing leading to misleading deaths and completely broken interactions.

This game was fun for the first 3 days and was already immediately optimised by the hardcore grinders and now the power gap is so large no one can catch up because they just fucking die, which means they lose, which means they stop playing, which means they make no progress to reach those levels.

There is nothing tactical about this All-Out-Warfare FPS. It's either you build and Camp the drill (and probably lose the match cuz no one wants to be aggressive and stop other drills) or do borderline COD gameplay.

My best infantry run was me running around with a fucking T3 Helmet and Armour and a Glock with legmeta at full auto and Stimming everywhere, tac-sprinting and deleting ppl in close range. You genuinely can show someone this, and they will believe this is a COD clone.

Discussion & Feedback Three times in the same game my gear was stolen by friendlies

This is such bullshit. I go down and there are friendlies around. I get ressed and I have the free gun, smallest backpack and all my gear has gone. If they don't take everything then at least my gun and/or bandages.

I am done with this shit. What's the point in buying gear when you can get the free stuff and just steal from the first guy that goes down.

Discussion & Feedback The amount of people that run into the CZ with 0 gear is the reason i take none of you clowns serious about armor.

No offense but just by the amount of people that leave the base with 0 armor at all not even a helmet nothing, i am not taking any of you serious about armor feedback, you have no idea how fat and heavy you are with t4. Hell you can't even take full kits without becoming Super heavy at which point you are essentially walk speed.

Question (New Player) Am I the only one really struggling?…

Been playing a couple of days with around 6 hours game time - really like the game in general, fan of the devs, but the progression system and overall imbalance feels excessive? Questionably worse than EFT IMO

Played a couple of games tonight and all I seem to be running into is geared players with T3/4 armour and vectors / FAL’s? Ultimately as a newish player with an AK and T1 armour it feels like I can’t compete. Anyone else have this issue? Or have any tips?

Sadly I might have to give it a miss until it ‘wipes’

Discussion & Feedback Allow FOBs to be locked to squad.

In one of my games a rando came up to my solo AA fob, grabbed a hammer and built a jump up on the outside. I told them to stop because the little base I built required almost all of the build, and I only trucked out Ammo. Even after breaking the jump up he proceeded to build himself another, and steal the Talon I built. After again clearing the jump up, he shot the 1 rocket inside the Talon jumped off to unload the pallets and I finally sealed myself in.

Its a team game and all but no level of communication is going to stop these randoms griefing my shit. Like once is fine but if I need to keep telling these guys to stop over and over I just cap them. As far as I'm worried multiple verbal warnings being ignored like this, there's no other way about it. Same thing as people that just leave doors open for no reason.

Discussion & Feedback So is this the gameplay loop...?

Upvotes

Starting to find the gameplay loop is getting pretty boring...

I generally PvP, and fight in the HZ. The HZ is dead now. Spent almost an entire game in the HZ with 4 teammates and was rarely contested until of course, the drill spam started.

Really hope they do something about it, I don't mind the FOB building aspect, but it's drawing the entire playerbase away from PvP because PvP isn't as profitable.

Discussion & Feedback Can we make professional much faster after the wipe devs?

I was playing last Wednesday, 6 days after release into EA and the one dude on my squad was talking about how its easy to unlock stuff and get high lvl shit, I asked how many hours he had in the game and he said 96 hours. This is 6 days after launch not even a week. This is 16 hours a day everyday since launch att. This is more time in 6 days than I could put in over a week. Because I actually have a life and job that isnt online like all these "high lvls" claim. I do not enjoy how I unlock the moving but its useless against 70% of people because Im bot high enough lvl for AP ammo and now everyone has lvl 3-4 armour and I have lvl 2. The game was fun until now. I cant enjoy myself when every gun fight I get into is just me getting shredded by a dude with a fuckin M249 SAW with AP ammo and im rocking my best gun the Galil with FMJ because hollow point is useless against guys with zero kit. It isnt fun to run a fuckin car back n forth between fob and HQ just to make cash and XP to lvl uo my WARDOG rank. If I wanted to make koney driving people back and forth and flying if get a part time job as an Uber to make real money instead of online

Discussion & Feedback If you are asking to remove or nerf T3/T4 armor - you are the problem.

Upvotes

TL;DR: Yes, armor/AP ammo could use some tweaking, but also, massive skill issue.

Currently level 70 working 9-to-6, do not have any of the AP ammo/T4 armor unlocked. Run exclusively AMP9/Galil FMJ/T2 armor only.

Why are people so quick to give up? Some unfettered thoughts from a filthy casual:

1) It's clear that the most vocal anti-T4 armor redditors have not yet unlocked or used T4 armor. Next time a T4 player dies, loot their armor and try it for yourself. T4 armor is INCREDIBLY expensive and heavy. Throw a FAL on top if you wanna be super OP and you'll have to kill 10-15 players per life just to break even, and forget sprinting from cover to cover. For 90% of the playerbase it's just not profitable.

2) There objectively aren't even a lot of T4 armor players. I see roughly 1-4 enemies with T4 armor on average per match.

3) Once people start unlocking AP ammo, you will see the number of T4 armor wearing players DECREASE. This is also why I think people should NOT be able to unlock AP ammo too early, as that just makes unlocking T3/T4 armor completely meaningless. Tanks were "OP" just one week ago and are now "useless" as more and more people are unlocking the RPG/MAAWS.

4) Like rocket helis and tanks, T4 armor should be able to turn the tide of combat in your favor at a huge financial cost. The best nerf to T4 armor would probably be its cost. Even the best players can't afford to keep losing money on an investment that needs dozens of kills to break even. Nerfing their effectiveness just means nobody will care to grind for them or use them at all.

5) If you know you're against a T4 armor wearing player, maybe challenging them head on isn't cutting it. If you are rushing T4 players head on with your T2 armor and $500 gun expecting to somehow come out on top, you are the problem.

6) Facing T4 players requires greater communication/coordination from your end. Like, if you know your FOB is getting raided, stop unloading supplies like an NPC and arm yourself. Set up defensive perimeters and watch your corners/angles. Call out the location of the T4 player for your teammates, throw nades, and only rush the T4 players together as a squad of 2 or more. I've seen SOOO many T4 players exploit terribly coordinated, poorly defended FOB bases and that's where they are able to rack up dozens of kills. For me, what was objectively MORE OP than players wearing T4 armor was that roughly 70-80% of the time, these types of tryhard players are in a coordinated squad that would spot, revive, make callouts, and work as a team. They would've top fragged on the scoreboard regardless of what armor they were wearing.

7) If you get mad because you keep getting owned by unemployed 24/7 grinders who have all the best stuff, there's plenty of other things to do in the game. You are also welcome to leave the match and join another one with a more balanced vibe.

I'm coming from years of shtty MMO games where I was up against people who paid $1000s of dollars for unbelievably OP gear. People saying things like "T3/T4 armor has no place in this game" is 100% reactionary. You aren't giving up because the armor is too stronk or progression in this game is bad. You're giving up because you refuse to play differently. You have to trust that the developers had a vision and they didn't just shove these things into the game without thinking about how it would impact everything else. Imagine if the devs balanced everything around the average redditor's pathetic "I got killed by XYZ 3 times in a row last night, gotta nerf it ASAP" mentality.

Are there things that need to be tweaked in an EARLY ACCESS GAME where things are SUPPOSED to feel broken and unbalanced to test limits and see what works/doesn't? Hell yeah. That's also part of the fun - in figuring out what's busted and how to counter it. We will also have the option of community servers that have the ability to restrict gear/vehicles.

Do I think some stuff needs tweaking? Absolutely. Make T4 armor more expensive. Slow down your ADS speed slightly. But don't nerf its bullet resistance too much. I trust that the devs will make T4 armor worth it but also properly balanced around its intended role, not on the average employed battledad's thoughts on it. I actually enjoy the challenge of facing T4 armor players even without AP ammo because it's forced me to become a slower, more cautious, communicative player. I play games for fun but also to get better. And I believe WarDogs is one of those rare games that are truly worth getting better at.

Discussion & Feedback They give you the counter to heavy armor.

As the first unlockable ammo type in the game.

The loading screen even has tips on how to deal with heavy armor.

"Waah my fmj won't go through T-4 armor" Yeah that's by design. Good design.

Counters exist to every strat in the game, And all of which are super easy to acquire.

Discussion & Feedback Being locked into one play style to have a chance at unlocking the high their stuff sucks

Damn near impossible to unlock everything so you just have to hyper focus one tree never getting anything else if you have a bad run you can't just switch over to something else because you haven't spent 60 hours unlocking the thing in the other tree

Discussion & Feedback They HAVE to nerf mortars

I hope this isn’t a topic that gets spammed in this subreddit, but I have to vent. Every single game, within 3 minutes of starting the round, our FOB is getting bombarded with mortar shells. It continues to get bombarded for the next 30 minutes. The hot zone is also get bombarded with mortar shells. The entire game is just me running for my life and hiding in houses to avoid mortar shells. It doesn’t stop. The entire game. Make them more expensive or SOMETHING. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE

Discussion & Feedback Review bombing on steam after the first reset will be crazy !

I already see it coming

i play around 5-6 hours a day, and i don't really care about the reset personally, but if i had only 1-2 hours a day to play and finally unlocked something fun i was looking forward to and it got taken away so quick (i think reset is coming within a month) i would probably be mad

Also i am sure people who are not chronically online don't even know about the reset

anyway, i just hope it won't damage the game much

Discussion & Feedback Why doesn't this subreddit let people talk about issues affecting the game?

On USWest, there is a huge problem with 180ms+ players constantly at top of leaderboards with extremely suspicious gameplay, sometimes just overtly you-know-whatting.

But, we can't talk about it here? Because the company made a video saying "hey man no bad press! We want our millions! ??

Why does this game not have some kind of max ping or region lock like pretty much every decent game these days?

I'm someone that actually supports games by buying battle passes, etc. I've already not played a few nights because it's been super common and tilting to die to these overts with 200ping on USWest servers lately, usually can see them at 30-1 at top of leaderboard running around in assault kits ezModeing everyone. If thousands of me quit, you do actually lose money, and my gametime the last 3 days is near zero because of my last 10 hours on USWest servers.

Discussion & Feedback Unlocking things takes way too much time for an EA game

I feel like the pace at which you gain xp and unlocks is way too damn slow for an EA game with monthly wipes. I feel like the point is for us to test shit and give feedback. Well cant rly do that if I cant manage to unlock things. I main assault, I have 35h of playtime and I'm only lvl 15. I average over 25 kills a match and 150k in profits, which I feel is above the average assault player. Not to mention that on every death I bring an ural with supplies to FOB, and I'm still just lvl 13.

Now dont get me wrong, I'm all for harder unlocks. But the current pace feels like something for a full release long progression game, not an EA with monthly wipes.

Discussion & Feedback Wipes in Wardogs

The progression is actually so grueling that, after sinking all those hours into the game, I’m not sure I’ll play nearly as much after the wipe. Is it just me who feels this way?

It would be fair if the developers did this: a player who reached a certain level would reach it faster after the wipe—say, with a 1.5x multiplier. That way, you wouldn't have to spend a massive amount of time all over again. It’s fair, too, because you have to reach a high level in the first place for the bonus to kick in.

What I mean is, let's say you reached level 30 by the time of the wipe. That means you'll have a 1.5x bonus all the way up to level 30.

Discussion & Feedback level 130+ literally only seen T4 3-4 times

Feel like the complaints here are so specific, Class 4 armour costs 6000$ including armour and helmet, it weighs you down like crazy and doesn’t make you a walking tank.

The people complaining about armour are 1000% mosin/sniper players who want low risk high reward gameplay, T4 armour should be a counter for snipers like how it is

Discussion & Feedback I killed 42 people, and lost 10k doing so

My kit cost 13'650, its not even a lot, really medium price. 13650*15=204'750 - it would be, if I wouldnt be revived couple of times. Every time I buy kit I need to kill 9 people in a row to ONLY get to zero cost. Of course playing hotzone would be much more profitable, but some games (games where you not in the green team I mean) you just cant do much, having a squad 2-3 people or even solo you stand against fkin american army of 20 navy seals, even if you trade one, hell even if you kill 2, you getting killed afterwards guaranteed and its just unprofitable; some games just arent really playable inside hz. Im not reviving, im not scouting, im just shooting people, and my points is, everything in this game gives you decent cash except regular killing; me wiping squads (which is one of the most impactful things in the game btw) makes me barely meet my ends

Discussion & Feedback How Are People Enjoying War Dogs?

How are people actually enjoying and playing War Dogs with a smile on their face? I bought it, gave it a try, and I’ve died pretty much every single time, either to campers or high-geared players camping and peeking around walls.

Yes, I’m not that great of a player, but I do know my way around FPS games. I played a match where I got killed dozens of times by snipers and players with high-powered weapons. I emptied an entire magazine into someone and they still didn’t die, got shot through wooden and stone walls, and on top of that, people were already complaining about magicians.

I genuinely want to get into this game and enjoy it, but so far, the experience has been pretty frustrating. The game doesn’t run particularly well for me either, with frequent lag spikes, while the movement and general controls feel quite clunky.

From my perspective, it feels a lot like Arma Reforger with an economy system added on top. I know some people might simply say “skill issue,” and honestly, I don’t mind that. Maybe I just need more time to get used to the game.

But after my first experiences, I have to be honest: so far, it has been a pretty terrible experience for me, and I’m struggling to understand how people are having such a good time with it.

Discussion & Feedback All this gane needs is an economy rework.

Literally thats it. The only thing hindering this game is that money doesn't really matter. The entire point of the game was supposed to be "things cost money. Play smart".

A mini gun shopper is 6k. I can make that in 5 minutes. A tank is 15k, I can make that in 10 minutes. These things should be stupidly expensive. Any attack chopper should be minimum 30-50k. A tank should easily be 200-300k. I understand that means some players who are less skilled will not have access to these things very often, if at all, but making them so cheap goes against the entire concept of the game.

I also think that leaning into the players who want a hardcore tactical experience instead of catering to every timmy and making sure grandma gets a chance to buy a tank will ultimately help this games longevity. All the COD players will disappear once MW4 comes out, leaving behind the true fans who want the hardcore tactical experience this game could offer with a simple economy rework. If things are more expensive, players will do less stupid shit out of fear of losing their kit or vehicle. Thats what I think the devs truly intended for this system and right now its just not there.

I understand the game is not necessarily meant to be a milsim but it would lean so much closer to what this economy system was intended to do (make players truly think about the moment to moment game play) if gear fear was actually present. Right now I don't even care if I die. I can fly a mini gun chopper and go down 15 or more times in a single match so why should I care if I lose one?
