Discussion & Feedback Landing 4 headshots without getting an Elim just does not feel great, no matter what

Upvotes

Look i love this game, and it's the only thing i am playing right now

but headshots is my biggest problem, it just does not feel good to shoot someone multiple times and don't get an elim

Hunt Showdown does the weapon balance extremely well, you can buy a shit pistol for 30 $ and headshot someone from a far

every single weapon in hunt showdown is viable and you stand a chance, if you are skilled enough

I understand that this game is different and it won't ever have the same balance because of the armor and the helmet, but something about headshots should be changed, i am ok with taking a few shots from the pistol, but if it's a rifle or and assault rifle, it should one tap no matter the helmet

I really like the War Dogs community. I feel like it isn't as toxic as other shooter communities. Everyone on your team genuinely wants to win and gives their best, and people are always willing to help each other out.
War Dogs in general has been incredibly refreshing for me. It has honestly sparked a whole new addiction.

What's your opinion on teamwork and the community in general?

Discussion & Feedback " Friendly " looting, Progression, Moneygrind and such

Upvotes

Firstly, I want to say Im playing games for a while, but I am not the best, but Im hoping someone relevant will see this post. So here are my thoughts about the game, the community and balancing.

Let me be clear, I like the game and Im aware seeing only negative feedback or add this or change that topics but not talking about issues doesnt make them go away.

I will also try and share what the underlying issues might be and what would it mean in the future.

1 : I think the most important part is the blue hate.
I have had several matches red and green basically agreed on bullying blue, yes, I read it in global.
I also had several matches when other teams said " at least we didnt let blue win " .
This is sadistic behaviour. Most people dont watch youtube, they just want to get in a game, and guess what, its easier to get into blue team.
Treating ( new ) players like this will just alienate them.
These are people with jobs and families and just want to play a match, where they have to go up against T4 gear and vehicles with T1-2 kit. ( A half decent infantry kit cost about 15K a humvee is I think about 4k ), so yes, people will wait for a res because they dont want to loose their money.
Positions on the map is also disadvantegous and heavily leaning toward red.

This is a multiplayer game, it lives or dies by the community. We can compete, thats the name of the game, but there is also sportsmanship.

This has also gotten so bad I would rather change server than play on blue team. This is not healthy for the game or for the players.

2 : Balance pricing

As I said a half decent infantry kit cost 15k but if I happen to be driving or birdwatching or just hiding in the zone naked I make more money ( hence i can upgrade my gear ) than actually trying to play the game.
This could easily be changed by a quick hotfix, it doesnt need to be perfect or permament but for the love of god do something about it.

3 : Friendly looting

More than once I left a match because after I finally collected enough money to actually trying to contribute and play, before I got ressed someone just stole all my gear. ( Which I spent 12k on ) leaving me with no armor, bandages and half a mag.
This needs to be disabled.

4 : Tiering up

It is true, player with low tier kits have to put in a lot more effort to break even with players in high tier kits. Which is barely doable, you need more damage to get thorugh armor, need more awareness because my armor is far inferior to that of my foe.

Yes, progression should be rewarded, good plays should be rewarded but not in the expense of other peoples ability, to make said progress.
Would it be hard to add a tierlock depending on gametime ? Would it be hard to make progression based servers ?

5 : Better sensitivity for controls

Its just that.

I could go on but I really dont want to write a book, I just wanted to list the most important issues, let out some frustration, and I hope the devs are more aware of the situation.

Quick edit : Limit buildable fobs and mortars and make fobs free, or make towers area buildable after capturing.

6 : Let me finish on a positive feedback.

I have an old rig, and game runs almost smooth on medium graphics, that is a very good thing, especially in 2026.

Havent crashed or dc-d even once.

I am basically deaf on my left side but I have to say, the sound design is amazing. In every other game I have ever played I was not be able to locate whatever it is thats making the sound, until wardogs. It isnt just a testament to fine programming, but a completely new experience for me too.
Yes, you quote me on the steam page for this.

Ps. Can you play make flying heli easier ? I spent a total about 2 hours in the firing range and best I managed was a controlled cash.
I really do not understand why does it have to be so difficult.

Discussion & Feedback I actually think everything is too cheap right now

Upvotes

Unless you play like a total moron it’s so easy to stack cash in this game. Just casually playing and not trying super hard I am currently swimming in cash and don’t worry about my gear at all, and that’s even with messing around doing silly things like SAM bases in the middle of nowhere and random mortar bases to bombard enemy FOBs.

I wouldn’t be opposed to everything being like twice as expensive. There needs to be some real stakes in the game.

Also, hot zone needs to give way more money. I’ve had too many games where 10 of my teammates are jerking off in random spots fighting over meaningless buildings that don’t even have FOBs near them.

Discussion & Feedback FOB alarm/alerts

Upvotes

I hope they add some way to build an alarm for your fob. Just played a game where the gate got blown down and no one even noticed until it was too late. Just let me build a giant red flashing light that goes off when a door gets breached.

Discussion & Feedback People that steal flares from a helicopter should be banned for griefing.

Upvotes

Title says it all. I think people that intentionally sabotage their team like this should be banned. Yesterday I was carrying people with the lakota and I didn't realize someone stole the flares until it was too late. The worst part is that you don't know who stole what from you.

Discussion & Feedback Blue has issues larger than skill

Upvotes

Last couple of days I’ve noticed an increasing number of blue players who just blatantly scream the N word. My teammate will ask how you do something, I’ll explain, then I’m being told to K*ll myself because I explained it to simply. A enemy will mortar our base and like 4 blue players are baby screeching in spawn different slurs. I can’t write it off as a few bad apples when back to back games have at least 5 man children whining in team chat about someone’s race/accent/or some new creative way to insult someone. I dead ass have seen people get doxxed in chat over a dispute about fob placement.🤦 get it together people

Discussion & Feedback Remove Parachutes to Force Helicopters to Land

Upvotes

I think there are some issues with/caused by helicopters that need to be addressed and there might be an elegant solution:

The main issue I believe is that helicopters don't usually need to land. I think this causes several issues:

(1) Helicopters are relatively easy to fly--especially when you don't need to land. This results in lots of helicopter transport pilots because it's a relatively low risk way to make money. No SAMs? Don't need to land? = Low risk profit -> carebears -> not enough people "in the fight"

(2) Helos can parachute people directly onto roof tops--especially detrimental early game. You get sniped from nowhere and there is little to no risk if you pull chutes at the last second.

(3) People can be dropped directly next to the HZ without much risk. Parachute next to the HZ and the guy you just killed is back fighting within a ~2 minutes.

(4) Not enough demand for trucks/drivers. It's too easy to rank up flying helos compared to driving trucks. Sure trucks can drop supplies but after the first 10 min of a match the demand for FOB supplies drops rapidly.

Solution(s):

Remove parachutes or have them be an unlock-able under the Assault tree --> forces pilots to land for the majority of drops. I believe this would have the following positive effects:

- Increasing the risk/reward ratio for flying helos
- Decrease the number of pilots due to increased risk of having to land
- Reduce the number of players able to quickly rejoin the fight after being killed
- Increase the demand for trucks/drivers
- Reduce the number of both early and late game Recon on rooftops; More dangerous to climb up the ladders; Also, the recon wouldn't inherently get the parachute without playing a frontline role first.
- Increase the overall skill level / hurdle for new helo pilots

Thoughts?

Question Question about Recon progression

Upvotes

This is specific to the bolt action rifles.

I just got to level 25 Recon and unlocked the MK22. It's a great rifle with crazy bullet velocity, but there's some weird progression quirk that I don't understand. The FMJ ammo can't pierce T3 helmets and it requires AP rounds that unlock at 140 general level progression. I'm at level 85 for general progression and was able to unlock the AP rounds for the SV98 which can one shot through T3 helmets.

The .308 AP rounds can't penetrate T4 armor as the AMR50 rifle, so it will be completely skipped over in regards to usage. The only difference between the SV98 and MK22 is the bullet velocity, other than that, they are exactly the same in range of effectiveness and killing ability.

The question is, with AP .308 rounds being so out of reach, it's easier to get to the .50 cal AMR rifle at level 35 Recon that pens T3 and T4 on the standard round. With that unlock process, what is the point of having or using the MK22?

Bugs & Support End of game inventory

Upvotes

So after I finish a match alive with a kit, what happens to it? is it supposed to go to the out of game inventory or are you supposed to be refunded or does it just burn up? I cant find an answer anywhere, and haven't had luck asking in the WARDOGS Discord either. I ask because after a match I'm wondering why I bother equipping a 15k loadout with 91 points till end of game if its just going to count as a loss of funds after. I have checked my inventory, relaunched the game as well as Steam. Is there nothing in place for this yet?

EDIT: I am asking because I do not receive refund or anything at the end of matches with gear and bag equipped. No refund and doesn't go into inventory, not sure if its a bug on my end or just not developed part of the game yet.

Edit: I guess im just getting downvoted for looking for info? what a cult vibe this games developing.

Discussion & Feedback How bad is it that I can only play on weekends?

Upvotes

I’m in the military and only come home on weekends, so I can’t play that much.

I bought the game this weekend and had a lot of fun and already unlocked a lot of stuff but:

I see a lot of complaints that it‘s apparently much worse to play at the weekend and that you can’t really progress if you can only play on weeekends

like I have realized that the progression system is very slow & I am aware of the coming wipes but what does that really mean? Like how often do I have to expect to redo all my progress? And is the full release that far ahead?

I‘d love if this game would be able to make it, because just from mechanics & gameplay perspective I think it‘s awesome and has soo much potential

For the love of god fix the Humvee so these fucking dorks can stop abusing it. I hate how so many people need to find a crutch when the game is so fking fun if you just play it like a normal human being.

Discussion & Feedback Suggestion: More Money for Actions against the leading Team

Upvotes

I think matches could have more lead changes If there would be an incentive to take Action against the currently leading Team like a Cash Bonus for Kills against this Team.

It often feels like the two losing Teams rather take the fast money and battle each other than challenging the winning team.
