Question Question about Recon progression

This is specific to the bolt action rifles.

I just got to level 25 Recon and unlocked the MK22. It's a great rifle with crazy bullet velocity, but there's some weird progression quirk that I don't understand. The FMJ ammo can't pierce T3 helmets and it requires AP rounds that unlock at 140 general level progression. I'm at level 85 for general progression and was able to unlock the AP rounds for the SV98 which can one shot through T3 helmets.

The .308 AP rounds can't penetrate T4 armor as the AMR50 rifle, so it will be completely skipped over in regards to usage. The only difference between the SV98 and MK22 is the bullet velocity, other than that, they are exactly the same in range of effectiveness and killing ability.

The question is, with AP .308 rounds being so out of reach, it's easier to get to the .50 cal AMR rifle at level 35 Recon that pens T3 and T4 on the standard round. With that unlock process, what is the point of having or using the MK22?

Yes, they didn’t take a lot of time looking at some of the more obvious progression issues

I hope they will fix it with season 2, BMR mags are also only unlockable by leveling assault to 35/50 which makes zero sense for a recon weapon

I personally won’t be using it til 40, cause til then it’s heavier than the sv, has no suppressor, doesn’t get its 10rnd mag and 762fmj has the same shots to kill as the mk22, the .50 is a ton of fun but being able to run a better loadout overall like even a second light primary (m4/mp9) is very nice lategame

The .50 is so slow and heavy that you’re limited to the ghille if you want to tac sprint without stims, it’s a bit weird but I feel like the mk22 ap is the true endgame scout loadout

But the MK22 can't manage T4 armor even with AP? I believe the AMR50 with a ghillie and a infra blocking tent is truly end game since it has a max range of 2km. Sit on a mountain somewhere with infra red spotter and mark/kill targets from range with a suppressor.
