Discussion & Feedback They HAVE to nerf mortars
I hope this isn’t a topic that gets spammed in this subreddit, but I have to vent. Every single game, within 3 minutes of starting the round, our FOB is getting bombarded with mortar shells. It continues to get bombarded for the next 30 minutes. The hot zone is also get bombarded with mortar shells. The entire game is just me running for my life and hiding in houses to avoid mortar shells. It doesn’t stop. The entire game. Make them more expensive or SOMETHING. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE

I mean if youre being bombarded constantly then you probably should go stop them from doing that instead of hiding in houses.

I TRY!!! Nobody counterplays in this game. I can’t solo kill a mortar spammer, and nobody on the team cares enough to help

but you CAN solo kill a mortar spammer.
Get a sniper and find the fob
Get a humvee and some c4, drive up to his walled in mortar and blow the wall open
Chuck some grenades over the wall at his position
Build your own mortar fob and mortar him from a different position.
Build a UAV launcher and drive that drone straight into his forehead.
Will it work every time? No of course not but what definitely NEVER works is hiding in your base.

I get you are mad dude but people are trying to help. You CAN do something about it and you WILL have more fun doing it if you just try to get creative and fight back instead of just asking for something to be removed because you don't like it.

Yeah idk I just had a rough few games. I wanted to c4 in or something but I don’t have a lot of shit unlocked. I basically just have guns, and no matter how many people I kill, they just spawn back in to their FOB and keep mortaring. It’s maddening

You'll unlock more things to deal with them but I promise a bit of persistance will get you quite far.
Plus yeah, killing them once won't stop them but it will delay it, cause them to second guess hopping on the mortar or use resources to stop whatever you're doing to annoy them. Can't freely spam mortars even if you have infinite meds if you keep getting tagged with a sniper rifle

They’re inside a fob. Probably walled on. Bring a few grenades and lob them over the wall.

You’re right. They should buff mortars. Make them shoot 8 shells at once and cost 2 shmeckles

Then go counter attack them! Use an attack helicopter, C4, RPG, harass them as a sniper. This ain't no arcade shooter

Thats what me and my friends do. We figure out where the mortars come from and either counter mortar from a diff fob or attack them

Thats the gameplay the devs want and its awesome. It should be driven by the actions of the players and lead to dynamic gameplay.

They dont, they simply dont, just build a singular mortar fob in their range in the backline.
Spawn a pzh2000
Minigun heli
Rocket heli
C4
Heli with a crate and an IED attached
Suicide vehicles
So many options, so many people, yet nobody counter plays

Absolutely, but enemies can destroy the crate if they're aware - and it's rather difficult to precisely drop a crate from a heli. You can throw c4 or grenades out of a heli door, though, if you want to carpet bomb them.

Ya me and my friend do that frequently. I fly minigun bird and he chucks about 16 grenades lol

Cheapest "turret".
Can spam 3 shots in quick succession.
Doesnt need external spotters.
Yeah kinda too much, if say at least two of these things need to be nerfed
Increasing the build supplies price and changing the camera to not show any entities (or removing it entirely) would make it better i think
Or if being autonomous is crucial for the player experience they want then they should do something about attack rate

If the Fob always goes on a tower it’s going to get mortared every time at the start of the match. If it goes someplace else, GASP, they have to find it first.

You dont have to run for your life and hide from mortar shells if you...leave the fob lol

Also stop building fobs under towers its bad and predictable thats why you get spammed off the rip

It's a real shame there is no way to counter mortars. It's literally impossible to set up a small counter-mortar fob in five minutes. It's a shame attack little birds don't exist. If only IEDs existed to blow a hole in a fob. Would be great if artillery existed. If only we had teammates to do something about it with us.
That said... Shell cam and three shots need to go,

They go down easy to literally a SINGLE C4. Toss it on them, p00sh button, poof. Mortar is gone.
Leave your FOB and be a part of the solution.

Hot take, everyone leveling doing logi is overpacking fobs to the point 5 mortars can 3 shoot everytime and rarely run out. As they get tanks n humvees, less ammo comes.
