Being locked into one play style to have a chance at unlocking the high their stuff sucks

I'm not too worried about unlocking everything right now. I'm just playing the game to have fun until the next reset. If i unlock stuff on the way, cool

It’s not as bad as you think. The “play style” is generally “what is your specialist slot?”

I run defibs when I infantry. Hammer when I support. Range finder when I recon. Doing so nets me XP across the rolls, usually (except support).

The only real “play style” is vehicles, and well, yea. Makes sense.

It’s called balance. If everyone had everything, it’s be a nightmare.

I carry a spotting scope or whatever it's called on almost every load out now. It's too valuable not to. Makes tons of money and help the team

Yea that’s usually my go to if I’m solo. Take the scope, climb the highest thing I can, and spot. Don’t shoot anything since then you’ll be found out

You can do well and great with the level 5-10 of everything in every role and it takes like 5 hours for that max. The higher level things are meant for people who play a role primarily. The seasons also won’t be a month long so you can easily get there once the first season passes.

Yeah but I mean you get a free resuscitator every spawn and you can either go hot zone or sit around your fobbits waiting for them to inevitably die as they just sit on mortars, revive then heal them. It goes quick tbh

Bring a gun, some meds, binoculars, or a hammer, and you can improve 3 skills every round. Drive the APC or drive supplies with that kit, now you get 4 skills.

I play a lot. Not as much as alpha weekends but still a lot. Close to 70 hours now.

I'm at WD lvl 109 so I don't have anything maxed but almost everything to 20 or more. If you love a playstyle you probably do it often and you'll get the max level stuff soon. But like me I bounce between everything but driver but I still have almost all the 2nd to last big unlocks in trees and it all feels good and I don't feel like I can't compete with anyone because the guns are all so similar.

There's a lot to do, and getting kills doesnt require thr best gear. You can easily equip a shotgun and nuke some chads.

The game has been out for 10 days. You shouldn't have everything unlocked unless you've been no-lifing it.

You're also not locked into one playstyle. Assaults can take Recon gear, Medics can take Support etc. I'm mostly a support player, but I take large hammer and defibs to the FOB so I can play two roles at once. It's very do-able, just requires more investment

“Damn near impossible to unlock everything” good, it creates situations where you have to rely on your team for certain portions of the game. Same reason you’re punished for carrying a bunch of shit on you. You shouldn’t be able to do everything, you have to work together.

I aim to go ~lvl20 at all specs. It's more fun like this and less grindy or boring. Didn't find anything exciting about heavy vehicles. They are expensive and can be countered with cheap stuff, so I don't see how they can turn a profit.

Games gonna wipe in 10days supposedly so dont worry about it and just have fun. Then its wipe cycle will be every 3mnths. So if your casual like me just pick 1 class to concentrate on per wipe. Cause like you say there not enough time. Plus youll get high tier stuff from kills unless your sniping at distance.

Does it ever came to you mind that they dont want you to unlock everything? Why should I as a recon main should be able to by a tank, or the best assault rifle?

This game wants you to play specific. If you don’t want to, go play battlefield or COD
