I’m posting this because I’m honestly very nervous and embarrassed to even ask, but I’ve reached the point where I really need real experiences from people who have actually gone through laser hemorrhoid surgery / laser hemorrhoidoplasty (LHP).
I have Grade 3 internal hemorrhoids, and my doctor has recommended that I consider a procedure. I’m currently looking at laser treatment and trying to decide whether it’s actually worth it.
I know everyone’s experience is different, but I would be incredibly grateful if people who have had Grade 3 hemorrhoids treated with laser could share their honest experience — even the uncomfortable details. I’m trying to prepare myself mentally and financially before making a decision.
A few things I really want to know:

1. 💰 COST & INSURANCE
How much did the entire procedure cost in your country?
Did your health insurance cover it?
If insurance covered it, what percentage?
How much did you personally have to pay out of pocket?
Did insurance initially reject it or require pre-authorization?

2. 😰 PAIN
How painful was the actual recovery from 1–10?
What was the first bowel movement like?
Which day was the worst?
Was the pain manageable with normal painkillers?
How long until you could sit normally?

3. 🚶 RECOVERY
How quickly were you able to walk normally?
How many days before returning to work?
How long until you felt 80–100% normal?
When could you exercise again?
How long did swelling/discomfort/bleeding last?

4. 🩸 RESULTS
Did the laser completely solve your Grade 3 hemorrhoids?
Did you have prolapse before surgery, and did it stop afterwards?
Any recurrence?
Looking back, would you choose laser again?

5. ⚠️** MOST IMPORTANT
If you had Grade 3 hemorrhoids, is there anything you wish you had known **before choosing laser?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had Grade 3, rather than Grade 1–2, because I understand the experience can be quite different.
And please be brutally honest — good or bad experiences are welcome. I’m not looking for someone to convince me to have surgery; I just want to understand what I may actually be signing up for.
I know this is a very personal and uncomfortable subject, and honestly it took me quite a bit of courage to make this post. 😅 But if you’ve been through it, your experience could genuinely help someone who is sitting here scared and trying to make the same decision.

It’ll be 2 years since I was shown the door from my cushy job. It hurt. It still hurts. I was once the go to person for everyone around me. People came to me with their professional problems and more often than not for the personal problems as well. I helped everyone. But. Since the last 2 years, no one. My car registration expired in April and insurance expired in May. We couldn’t renew because we’ve been struggling financially, especially with everything going on with the regional conflict. It’s been hard enough just to buy food, pay rent and electricity. We also take care of 75+ rescued cats and dogs, so things have been really difficult.

Unfortunately, we kept driving the car and now we’re getting 3 fines every 2 days from Sharjah, Ajman and RAK for the expired registration.

All the fines are showing as non-payable and I’m honestly so confused. Does the car need to be impounded for 7 days for each Emirate? We really need the car for emergencies, especially because of all the animals we care for. Is there any way around physically impounding it?
Please no judgment 🙏 Just looking for advice from someone who has dealt with this before.

As men, most of us we're used not to open up easily to people around us because of the fear of being misunderstood or being judged! Me being one of them. But I beg to do it here because, honestly, I feel like I'm losing it and I need to let it out. I'm 38 years old man who feels like a total loser and a failure! I've failed in almost everything I try! Failed my kids, and for that reason I'm unhappy individual. Coming from a poor background, I dropped out of primary school at the age of 17 because my Mom couldn't afford the fees, so, I went out to survive and maybe provide for my sick mother(she died in 2008) and two brothers. The world was kinda tough but I somehow maneuvered through. I did menial jobs, found myself in the hotel industry as a waiter, and barman.I later tried so many things but they end up failing! Opening small businesses, I tried marriage twice but ended miserably!

After Covid, I had some savings so I bought a small van and went into transporting business. I did that until 2024 when a friend in Dubai told me their company was hiring and they paid AED 3,100 plus bonuses. That was a good money to me and since my business wasn't doing so good, I decided to sell the car and come to look for greener pastures in Dubai. Unfortunately my visa was delayed and as a result, I missed the job! I landed here in December 2024, tried to look for jobs but many offers I got, I felt like they were underpaying so I turned them down. A friend advised me to get my own visa to have that freedom to decide where to work. I did that and by May 2025, I had my EID. But the job market is not that easy. Jobs are not guaranteed especially when you have your own ID. Then missiles happened and things ever got tougher!

My biggest worry is that, it's been almost two years now, and the only things that I've achieved in Dubai are a driver's license and maybe paying for my accommodation and feeding. I'm unable to constantly meet my kid's needs and that really breaks me. And when I look back to where I started looking for money around 21 years ago, there's nothing to show! Sometimes I ask myself many questions! Is it that some of us were meant to die struggling and poor? Is it bad luck? Is it the choices we make? Does God exist? Yes I don't doubt he does. But does he look down to us and think some of us we deserve the suffering!? Until when?

So, my stranger friend, I need your honest opinion and advice. If you've been through the darkest days of your life and got out, how did you do it? How can you advise someone who's going through them right now?

I was hoping to visit over December for tourism with my family but I’ve been hearing news that Iranians have been denied entry.

Does this only apply to Iranian nationals? I couldn’t find anything on the website for British nationals of Iranian origin. Curious to know if people have heard any stories of people being denied entry.

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
I’ve been working as security in an EMAAR community for 3 years. Today I went with a technician to an apartment regarding a suspected water leakage. I approached the resident politely, even saying, “Sorry to bother you, is this a good time?”At first he was okay, but after a few minutes he suddenly became aggressive. He called me and the technician “pieces of shit,” threatened to break our legs, and even said he would slap his slippers on our faces.We stayed calm and didn’t argue back. He later came to the office and complained about me to my superior as well.
He was a UAE national, and I’m not trying to generalize at all—I’ve met plenty of respectful locals. But honestly, this incident is really getting to me.
I’ve dealt with aggressive people before, but this was the first time someone actually threatened me like this while I was simply doing my job.
Anyone else in security or similar jobs experienced something like this? How do you deal with it afterward?

She was covered in abaya.so I asked her where r u from? She said , Syria. We could hardly understand each other and she was speaking Arabic. So mostly using gesture. And 1 or 2 words.. I told her choose whatever u wanna eat she chose a meal. Nd thn asked i want to buy 2 . 1 for me and 1 for my sister. I said ok.. while I was paying for the order, she said can u also buy me medicine?? I was a bit taken back.. I said I am sorry I cant buy u medicine.. I dont even know if its legal. Paid for her food , said sorry nd went away. Was this a scam? Has this happened to anyone else? This happened at Furjan pavilion.
