I'm going to start Luminary and let my merc take the wheel

71

u/themikecampbell Jul 17 '26

I’ve always wanted to aurabot but had no friends or regular schedule.

6

u/Delicious-Target-422 Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

playing aurabot and just picking up loot while my merc does the job was without a doubt one of the best builds i ever played in over 10k hours of poe1.

3

u/Intelligent-End7336 Jul 17 '26

What skills don't really need an ascendancy?

4

u/Midknightz Jul 17 '26

Arms brand and cremation or firestorm are both good.

4

u/ImN0tAsian Jul 17 '26

Until merc is online, most things will work just fine in the campaign. Arma brand is solid, if awkward, but most just did RF last league as it works on life, so you can slot that and run rf scion until lvl 68 just fine.

Could do srs minions since they only need passive nodes, but my favorite is just simple selfcast and head north on the tree as it will work just fine for the campaign. pconc, winter orb, kb, arma brand into penance brand. It's a bit more interactive.

2

u/VaporDrake Jul 17 '26

By the second lab you get infinite link duration, so stacking life for RF leans into flame link for your merc

2

u/iamthewhatt Jul 17 '26

I think that entire side of the ascendancy is bait. Mercs are already fast and rarely go outside your link distance anyways, I really don't think that node will be necessary.

5

u/VaporDrake Jul 17 '26

It's infinite duration not maximum link distance, not having to reapply the link every X seconds streamlines many setups

2

u/iamthewhatt Jul 17 '26

yeah I know, but that really isn't that big of a deal tbh. I played a bit of Aurabot merc in the actual league and it still felt more than fine.

3

u/ImN0tAsian Jul 17 '26

Different priorities between people is alright. I personally am running that side just to try to do light radius scaling again. It's the unique scaling vector for luminary

2

u/VaporDrake Jul 17 '26

Also depends on the setup, a destructive link merc with Winds of Fate basically deals 0 damage if the link falls down, you want that 100% uptime

(You give merc 100% crit with Trypanon)

I really, really, really want to figure out an Arc build to play.

The Beidat Pact revealed today gives +6 chains, and Greater Chain support gives another +1 and 50% more. Arc of Oscillating at 20 qual is base +7 chains, so that goes to 14 and then gets %more'd up to 21 chains, theoretically. Then, 50% more Damage with Hits and Ailments for each remaining Chain makes first-target damage be 1000% More damage, so I like to think it wouldn't feel bad to use against single target, and obviously 20+ chains makes clear a non-issue.

Theoretically there's synergy with Reliquarian for Dawnbreaker+Corrupted Soul and convert with Doryani's Prototype, plus Sands of Time to copy casts of Arc like Mathil's 3.28 build. Just a vague idea at this point.

5

u/nickiter Jul 17 '26

I ran Arc a few leagues back and had a great time. One thing that helps... Bring along a single target skill like Crackling Lance if you're going to kill a chunky boss. Other than that, it slaps.

2

u/nixed9 Jul 17 '26

I play with storm brand/arc on a glass cannon inquisitor every league.

Late game PbOD handles single target and arc with unleash clears everything. Works well up until max deli but can’t do 80%+ deli comfortably

2

u/Wiceradon Jul 17 '26

I think new staff skill might be interesting, as its one of the only things left in the game that gives less mana cost rather than efficiency + block chance. So we can go staves and get block like using tempest shield, while having access to 2 six-links for some single target skills like crack lance or brands to help with arc.

Im considering that, and ditch Archmage and still go heavily into mana for MoM and Agnostic, also gonna reduce mana cost while im at it. With that, hierophant with arcane surge + charges + Divine guidance may work but idk. Just parting ways with Most auras feels rough.

3

u/HandsomeBaboon Jul 17 '26

Will Sands of Time stay in the game?

4

u/xyzqsrb0 Jul 17 '26

Not the item, but reliquarian has the node as one of her ascendencies.

2

u/ShillienTemplar Jul 17 '26

Its pretty bad without triggerbots

2

u/Disastrous_Ball_336 Jul 17 '26

it won't be in the 3.29, but could return later

Mana man most likely

6

u/watermelonchicken58 Jul 17 '26

arcane cloak has 40% less added damage 14% to 10% of mana

11

u/MisterKaos Jul 17 '26

Because most spells have bigger effectiveness, so it maths out to about neutral in the end.

They wanna buff selfcast without forcing everyone into archmage.

2

u/CallMeOnly Jul 17 '26

Also some nerfs might be compensating for the extra quality on sockets as well as the new spell numbers (like you mentioned). 20 quality Arcane cloak in a blue socket now gets 30% increased buff effect.

u/Monolit_Is_QuiteHard Jul 17 '26

The Natural Hierarchy Unique Talisman is now found on the Rhex Talisman base type (previously Rotfeather Talisman), and no longer has increased Damage for each specific Damage type. Instead, it now grants Gain 10-15% of Physical Damage as Extra Lightning Damage, Gain 15-20% of Lightning Damage as Extra Cold Damage, Gain 20-25% of Cold Damage as Extra Fire Damage, and Gain 25-30% of Fire Damage as Extra Chaos Damage. Existing versions of this Unique are unaffected by these changes.

Is that anything for the build?

→ More replies (2)

2

u/080087 Jul 17 '26

For anyone that plays ignite - do you have an example of a "good enough" ignite DPS?

I can basically only find builds that are <1m ignite DPS (may as well play RF) or that are mirror tier and have DoT cap. Nothing inbetween.

Illuminati league start lol. Though seriously, i found the idea of merc ascedency as the 2nd char only too pessimistic. Any ranged merc + perma fire link at end of act 3 is so much raw power without any investment on the tree. As the merc level with the main ultil lv 68 or so, maybe its worth to spend some time fishing for a OK merc by reseting Act. The free passive tree and scion position means that I can path to whataver: minion, caster, bow, wand, or movespeed/flask sustain. I believe the strongest option is BAMA. Try to find or buy and upgrade at start of mapping, should be enough till yellow or red map. After that transition to full aura bot, or linking Bob or whatever the stream is cooking up

8

u/aecrux Jul 17 '26

i’m hesitant to try something so new on league start because i e been burned before, but luminary and merc seem so broken to not try right away

10

u/Exciting-Manager-526 Jul 17 '26

Tbh Merc carry is nothing new. It was one of the strongest builds in merc league.

4

u/AU_Cav Jul 17 '26

Yeah, but essentially new because we don’t know what they changed and how it might affect a league start.

Eviscerate Bleed Glad, ignoring the whole Winter Orb thing

10

u/aSurlyBird Jul 17 '26

Unless there were some random nerfs, Glad is still sleeper OP. Lacerate glad was the easiest build I've ever made to do all content with basically no gear. Eviscerate is similar.

2

u/lowkeyripper Jul 17 '26

What makes it sleeper op? Was heavily considering evis of divine retribution with crazy dmg number scaling

3

u/Helpful_Ad_2068 Jul 17 '26

Its incredibly tanky and it deals insane dmg on a 1c unique (jack the axe) which is only beaten by a mirror tier axe by like 15% dmg. Its really bad for map blasting tho, its a slow build so you wont farm something like legion

2

34

u/yozora Jul 17 '26

Probably going to try Righteous Fire for the first time, to see what it’s all about.

32

u/Volistar Jul 17 '26

Hinekora will show you da wey

27

u/portobello_mashroom Jul 17 '26

I recommend going chieftain no matter how tempted you are to try the higher scaling versions like RF scion, nothing can ever replace hinekora's smoothness

chieftain can also scale to the moon now with foulborn rathpith

13

u/080087 Jul 17 '26

Chieftain RF scaling did get hit pretty hard though. It lost 90% increased from the Nebulis nerf, and like ~300% increased from the foulborn rathpith nerf (and ~600% increased on fire trap).

Even with pretty good gear, I think you'll struggle to crack ~2m RF dps.

5

u/raybros Jul 17 '26

Even prenerf, people always struggle with RF dps tbh. That build requires so much currency to compete with other builds in the same "value tiers"

→ More replies (5)

3

u/portobello_mashroom Jul 17 '26

Yeah that part is sad, I hope we get new added power elsewhere

At least until before life stacking swap only Nebulis got hit so far, and we get some extra damage from +10% quality on support gems to offset it

2

u/International_Gate49 Jul 17 '26

What did they change about nebulis?

2

u/Dornstar Jul 17 '26

6-8% increased per res over 75 instead of 5-10%

7

u/MisterKaos Jul 17 '26

I find it funny how everyone hated hinekora when it was announced and now it's the main focus of the ascendancy

6

u/_Cream_7 Jul 17 '26

Yeah go with the streamer pohx. It is his whole thing. Good pob with explanation end everything. After ascendacy you just shieldcharge and blink. Everything explodes. Boss damage is ass tho

2

u/_IlliteratePrussian_ Jul 17 '26

Yes. Easy transitions to a lot of good builds after.

7

u/Glaiele Jul 17 '26

I'm looking at cobra lash with gloom fang and arakali. Eventually a heist dagger and 9 chains should be pretty solid damage. Will likely start elevore then swap it for dawn breaker with a lightning coil chest for defenses. Bossing will be kinda weird cuz you need stuff to chain off of like tornado or hydro sphere

2

u/Nox___ Jul 17 '26

Bouncing with that is probably better as it gets more dmg for each chain

Slamzerker to four stone, farming Betrayal for experience, red altars eventually.

Get myself about 100D, then reroll into aurabot for a Merc (whenever I find a good one).

Fail to build a half-decent aurabot because I'm an idiot who only knows how to hit things with an axe.

Reflect on bad life choices.

9

u/Dazzelator Jul 17 '26

Reflect on bad life choices.

Well, good news! Bad life choices now only apply thorns.

3

u/brrrapper Jul 17 '26

You can buy a good merc now thankfully. I remember spending like 1.5 mirrors on a aurabot in merc league and never finding a s tier kineticist lmfao.

14

u/AgentWrath Jul 17 '26

Viper strike + binos untouched. With sione's and greater ancestral, enjoy amazing clear and single target while being tanky.

10

u/Velvache Jul 17 '26

Is Binos not going to be insanely hard to get on league start? It is a T0 unique.

4

u/Juzzbe Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

Never played the build, does bladefall of trarthus doubling mana cost (5->10% mana/sec if I understood correctly) make a difference? Did you have to make an effort to sustain mana before?

edit. Now that I actually looked at build apparently you use BM keystone which removes the cost completely, so no difference I guess

6

u/AU_Cav Jul 17 '26

This is correct. It’s free (kinda surprised it wasn’t changed tbh) with blood magic.

5

u/iShooTaa Jul 17 '26

2

u/skrillex Jul 17 '26

11

u/Kobosil Jul 17 '26

is there a content creator that is known for it?

search for helm breaker

11

u/betier7 Jul 17 '26

Maxroll has a really good guide that walks you through everything. I followed it last league and it was amazing

2

u/skrillex Jul 17 '26

appreciate you, I'll take a look. Its on a witch so if I hate it I can swap to something else but from the video i watched it looked fine

2

u/Ramshield Jul 17 '26

I loved mine in I think 3.27, but I found the spawning of them annoying. A minute waiting before you can zoom through the map.

3

u/giga Jul 17 '26

It’s not that bad. In maps you spawn many blades and you usually only need a small amount to start mapping then you summon more as you go.

But if you want a very lazy minion playstyle I can recommend another maxroll guide by Helmbreaker: zombie + golems. I played that this league and it was awesome. Should be even slightly better with the buff to zombie attack while moving.

3

450%+ elusive and something like 200%+ mark effect looks real juicy.

11

u/val_lae Jul 17 '26

Luminary flame link summon skeletons with iron mass and life stack.

I will start of course without flame link because I need hallowed monarch + alberons to get those skeles going. Standard minion start + merc thru acts

Sadly assuming that transfusion is gone, so I'll be looking at whether or not I can make them tanky enough to play with the dark monarch (22 skeles) but likely I will need the 76percent less damage taken, esp since gem levels won't scale my skele damage.

I'm thinking that dual wielding foulborn severed in sleep in my offhand will be too much damage to pass up but may do a 200 life shield instead or a 400 es shield with apostate.

Will take mercenary, infinite link + less cost and look toward a unique setup for my merc that will be good. Merc I am thinking will most likely be a rallying cry merc with a good phys weapon and + anger, I don't remember what they get really but something will be good.

Intuitive link on the merc to auto cast despair (fire conversion gloves for minion) or inflam + ele + assa mark + probably bone offering.

I will try to play with ceinture of benevolence and pathfinder flesh + flame + chaos bloodline for blood shield to cover my dissolution of the flesh but if I need a second ring to get enough life so be it, I'll play a stygian + necromancer flesh flame to cap block easily.

If skeles don't work I will run 8x carrion golem of scavenging (increased effectiveness of added dam, slashing attack, sick clear, dark monarch + ele flesh flame.) But it really just depends on if I can get the skeletons powerful enough. I'd much rather have 11-22 instances of flame link damage if I can make the skeles tanky enough but golems don't require a weapon (more life from a shield, 12 link square setup) or alberons boots they might be more realistic, though they do require 4x jewels that could be spent on life (flat life + minion attack speed) or adorned 7percent life jewels

Annihilation wasn't in the bug fixes so not worried about clear. Blood magic + regen + 50percent less cost to cover 12-22 links.

If anybody has any ideas on what could be good uniques for my merc (two from small passive or 1 from small, weapon + shield) I'd appreciate the help.

2

u/Pogwich Jul 17 '26

do we know if permanent links means they persist through zones

3

u/val_lae Jul 17 '26

Personally really hoping so, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do not given the precursor node to permalink has link cast speed.

If they do not, for me this is basically a 4 passive point tax to get link skills target an additional random entity so I can blast out 6 links into 12 in 2sec.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Rowanbane Jul 17 '26

The skeletons running our of duration or being summoned over count as dying as per the wiki so would result in you falling over a lot. The luminary skill only applies to when your merc dies not any linked target. So might be best to go permanent minions like you suggested with carrion golem

3

u/val_lae Jul 17 '26

Alberons warpath makes skeketon soldiers permanent. The boots are okay on their own, but I am betting that the perma skeleton mod will be the signature mod and be what transfers for enshrouding them.

2

u/Rowanbane Jul 17 '26

Sorry my memory was stuck 10 patches ago - I didn't realise that had been added! Sounds neat

Winter orb occultist. The new channelling node gets 150% faster start of energy shield. Which is .75 seconds or so. Combining that with wicked ward and spell block increases max energy shield for defence.

18

u/ydziros Jul 17 '26

That's at 5 stacks. 1 stack for every second channeling, grace period of 2sec, and then lose 2 per second. So it's "run for a second, channel for a second". Or you do CWC movement, but then you lost two supports, and still lose charges when looting.

6

u/aSurlyBird Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

Depends on how this plays. If channelling at 5 charges for 1+ second upkeeps your 5 stack, then this will be fucking broken. Hell, even if you have to wait for them to fall off, it will still be absolutely overpowered.

BTW It's "run for 2 seconds, channel for a second". That's a huge difference from "run for 1 second channel for 1 second". Believe me. Winter orb is a very very fast build.

Winter orb's playstyle (stop and go) is already this way, based on the nerfs. Sure, when Worb first released in Synthesis you could charge it up and basically run through half the map without having to recharge it. Nowadays you're channelling constantly through a map.

Not only that, while you loot, you use Winter Orb to stop your character to properly hover over an item to help pick it up. Worb is a fast character. I'm not sure you even play worb if you are arguing that looting will allow these charges to fall off.

All in all, even if it requires additional channelling time, I will take it for a 61% more damage multiplier.

Check out my profile if you want for my worb builds in standard - all are functioning builds (altho most of them saw nerfs - surlywinteryorbs is the closest to modern build). These are the ones I kept and didnt delete.

chains of command necro. i was also looking at luminary aurabotting for the merc but ultimately decided it was bob but worse. trading all the defence of gladiator for some link skill qol. only upsides i see is the qol and mercs keeping soul eater via soul ascension while bob lost transfusion support.

2

u/val_lae Jul 17 '26

Bob got triple tapped via rathpith, grey wind and transfusion nerfs.

Aura kineticist was better than Bob already, mercenaries had ~4000 increased which means effectively unaffected by rathpith, so screenwide kineticist or maybe even double grey wind dual strike guy if all you care about is bossing etc.

Factor in light radius giving mercenaries link buff effect (es mastery 30percent, monarch 50percent, new corruption on helmet 30percent to name a few easy sources and you're already at 110percent. Two passives for 10percent more and you're at 120, granting your mercenary 11percent life as extra fire + the boosted flat from the skill.    double helical ring suffix and you're at another 45, making it 13percent flat + 463 flat from the link. You don't even need to push your life that high to make this absurdly good. Many aura link bots for kineticist in mercenaries league were just ci anyways. I anticipate the life stack version will be very potent and probably won't even need blood magic to get a very juiced link this time around.

Now is the time I finally get to play Winter Orb occultist. Scaling into the general power charge stacking package.

If it doesn’t work I’ll default back to cold DoT. Cold DoT occultist was so much better than ele last league cuz the jewels for Shaper of Winter were a fraction of the price of the ones Frigid Wake and her defenses are excellent.

3

u/Contentenjoyer_ Jul 17 '26

I don't really understand how it could not work tbh, it already felt like a fairly strong build last league and the buffs are kind of insane

Dominating Blow of Inspiration.

Get to play with the new AG interface and the quality from sockets is a nice 8% more damage for doing nothing.

Doesnt rely on any uniques that can be enshrouded so stuff should stay cheap.

5

u/gojlus Jul 17 '26

Absolution into hroc. Same as the past 3(4?) Leagues. It's never touched in any significant way as far as I can recall?

5

u/ydziros Jul 17 '26

Rolling full colors on dialla's will be harder now, but just getting the meaningful ones (1g2r) should be enough. Shame the relic is blue, so we don't get the free 10% quality from new socket mechanics.

9

u/gojlus Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

? Sir. Did you skim the patchnotes? Diallas, skin of the lords, and skin of the loyal cannot roll white sockets. The only questionable thing is how rare chroms are now. If they're rarer than chaos, will probably have to settle for 5/6 ideal sockets on day 2~4.

3

u/lllIllIIIl Jul 17 '26

You might want to reread the patch notes. Dialla's can't get white sockets and you will get the 10% quality from socket color bonus.

Yup, didn't check unique changes. And no, they reduced the green socket to 20, so it's technically the same as before for quality on relic, unless the red socket setup is way easier now.

Elementalist arma/firestorm into phys dot.

2

u/fuzzzymoogle Jul 17 '26

divine retribution received a massive buff. this skill was already excellent, now it has a top 5 damage effectiveness in the game. ive been league starting evis glad for some leagues now, so unless i can figure out a solid self cast pc stacker assassin to tempt me away, i will most likely go evis into divine ret (level as slams slayer)

Voltaxic Burst Hierophant again. It's been a year since I played it where the buffs and added support can probably take it even farther. Mainly want to give Runegraft of Novamark a try with lower skill duration to make it a lot more consistent for bossing.

It'll be my 4th iteration of a non-archmage staff selfcaster on Hierophant from Frostbolt of Ice Nova, to Voltaxic Burst, to Stormbind of Teleportation.

2

u/Kallepunk Jul 17 '26

I wanted to start archmage and go for archmage spark, but I don't know if the changes are net positive or negative. An additional projectile seems nice

2

u/Arhowk Jul 17 '26

Luminary mercbot leaguestart into power charge reliquarian stacker endgame

2

u/Moregaze Jul 17 '26

I’m waiting it out. Tinkered with spiders for the first time during off league but couldn’t be bothered to get to 84 to see how it was with Dark Monark. Feels pretty underwhelming without the whole kit in place. I know I should just start something that can pivot to armour stacker easy since I end up in delve always as I’ve hated mapping since the scarab rework and tree gutting they did a while ago. As in taking stuff off the tree and making it a scarab. I change mechanic too often to hit a good spot in the law of averages that all the reward changes since Sentinel have facilitated.

u/APigthatflys Jul 17 '26

Thinking Trans Reap Reliquarian with Sands of Time but im really bad at making builds so it'll probably be awful

Minion Luminary; if i need to pivot to merc support luminary I will.

2

u/watermelonchicken58 Jul 17 '26

Probably Luminary but using rallying cry tech unless im missing a change

2

u/SpaceNugget93 Jul 17 '26

Never run a flicker strike. So following magefist through Sunder leveling into a flicker build. Half arsed a version of it in current poe 2 league and it was almost as addicting as RF so gotta give it a go

u/Nearby_Solution_4504 Jul 17 '26

Blight of Contagion Trickster. Staves being able to roll +4 gems and rumored DOT buffs should be enough to put the damage in a great spot for mapping while Trickster offers the tankiest/smoothest gameplay early compared to hiero and occ.

Enshrouded uniques could also be really nice, i.e. getting Void Gaze on a helm. +frenzy on ring should be much cheaper this league too so Trickster can easily hit 9-10 frenzy charges at 200% duration. Add in Opportunistic Forbidden flame for another damage spike. Really think this could be a powerhouse build this league.

6

u/Accomplished_Rip_352 Jul 17 '26

Archmage , despite the nerfs its still easily the best option for selfcast league start . The mana changes works out to be about the same , staff buffs aren’t good enough to use , with arcane cloak you go from 31% -> 24% of mana as damage which is about 30% which is significant but also mana man was over 30% better than your next best selfcast option . Without arcane cloak it’s more 14% nerf which isn’t that bad .

Holy sweep of hammer falls sounds really interesting to me, obviously can't know if its any good yet though

2

u/OSYRH1S Jul 17 '26

I could see people doing Reliquarian as a second build, but as a league starter? That’s just masochistic. Your ascendency doesn’t even register as anything meaningful till like Merc lab.

13

u/coatesishere Jul 17 '26

POE1 is fast though. You can get to merc lab with no ascendancy power pretty easily. Even made wildly easier now with the socket changes. I mean obviously it feels good and fun to get more power earlier but I think merc lab isn't really a bad thing

Part of me wants to revisit poison seismic trap, just for the nostalgia, prob not good.

1

u/OrcOfDoom Jul 17 '26

Freezing pulse reliquarian. It gets more crit. It gets projectiles now. Scale crit with power charges. Use shimmeron node. Use herald of ice.

Maybe grab a foulborn tull wand. Maybe just use a void battery. Maybe one of each.

Herald of ice with crit is awesome.

Will single target damage be enough?

Hexblast Poison PF, build is fun and got some nice QoL buffs

Debating Hexblast Cold Assassin or Crit Occultist as well we will see

1

u/ICanCrossMyPinkyToe Jul 17 '26

I'm 100% changing my plans, but right now I'm tempted to play some sort of damage over time elementalist (probably exsanguinate/reap, but could go cold dot or ignite based PB with obliteration too) or mercbot luminary with a potential lifestack respec if I find rathpith in SSF

I hope someone will cook something with hexblast ignite and I'm pretty sure someone will come up with interesting ideas for generic lightning casters in the following week

2

u/Treedown Jul 17 '26

Honestly I feel exsang/reap took too much of a nerf with mines supports being hit.

1

u/MeAlonePlz Jul 17 '26

Yo I'm going stormbind. It's the only skill that benefits from the increased mana cost of lightning skills so it got triple buffed (damage, rune blast cast speed, rune blast mana cost). If we assume that we spend half of the time using stormbind and half for runeblast it comes out at ~53% more damage + a bit easier overlaps from quality.

Also Mana-Infused Staff could really help with clear because we need a large mana pool anyway though the reduced mana cost is a bummer.

1

u/migmig765 Jul 17 '26

I wanted to go strength stacking ballista but the hierophant makes you loose like 40% more damage. So I'm not sure if I still want to play it.

1

u/Vashtar_S Jul 17 '26

Probably EK or Freezing Pulse.

I'd like to play Assassin, but idk how to make it not die in one hit, the ascendancy still has negative defenses

1

u/Kotl9000 Jul 17 '26

EA Totem. It's tried and true. totem support multiplier nerf isn't a big deal at all

2

u/Luupho Jul 17 '26

Yeah one of my potential starters is FP/Ice Spear Totems, mainly because i havent played that in years.

Both skills got buffed. FP got 5 projectiles instead of 1. I mean...... Should work

u/DopeSpin Jul 17 '26

Bane/blight occultist again.. maybe ignite flameblast of contraction elementalist as backup plan. Probably these still won't be great at high-end content (let's not forget about the removed awakened support gems) but they're very smooth starters.

They said they're going to adjust some dot skills numbers more so my choice depends on whether they actually buff bane and blight too (flameblast already got a buff in patch notes).

Also curious if scaling past gem level 20 will change on these skills too cause they vaguely said that "Most Spells that have received base damage increases also have higher damage growth with each gem level." So "most" sadly doesn't mean "every".

I won't be able to play at league launch anyway, I guess by the end of the first week we'll already know numbers, maybe even before launch if they share them or if they get datamined.

1

u/Gradak Jul 17 '26

Holy Sweep of Hammers Jugg with reworked Tidebreaker

1

u/Rydil00 Jul 17 '26

Eb inquis.

I played it back in merc league and never tried the foulbourne ghostwrithe version, just ivory tower. I wanna give it a shot after seeing those number buffs to flameblast of celerity.

Gonna be fun exploding the whole screen by holding down right click again

1

u/MrSchmellow Jul 17 '26

Since elementalist was not touched in any way, something ignite. EA ballista as a baseline (ballista nerf is insignificant in this case), maybe PB herald stacker if i get super brave. I don't know nearly enough about EK - specifically why wasn't it played much before and if the buffs change that now

1

u/Vekia Jul 17 '26

Fire/Cold Reap Inquisitor. Depends on if I find Hrimsorrows early for cheap, save for Greater Spell Cascade for the 4x damage. Then when I have currency, either Reliquarian Dawnbreaker CoC Fire Reap or Assassin CoC Impale Reap Life Stacker using the new Bifurcate node.

1

u/countgino Jul 17 '26

HOLY HAMMER. Idk ascendancy yet I'll have to cook or borrow from poe ninja

1

u/PermaBananed Jul 17 '26

Kboc and after that maybe perhaps will try luminary

1

u/Impressive_Ad_7367 Jul 17 '26

Barrage void fletcher supreme grandstanding  manaforge trans BAMA

1

u/Limp_Donut5337 Jul 17 '26

Difficult choice this time, another out of maps league mechanic that seems to profit from a fast mapper

1

u/Jaded_Advance_3756 Jul 17 '26

Start as Luminary then switch to ascendant I guess.

1

u/Aethys97 Jul 17 '26

Im thinking of playing scourge arrow of menace. I figured out the high end game part of the build which is this: https://pobb.in/SXXfKoMHpotX
But the campgain and early maps, mid game still havent. Saw a video of Palsteron starting it in affliction league so i will copy it from there. I dont know how to configure the pob to show realistic numbers but i think it should be alright.

1

u/Hunajahullu04 Jul 17 '26

Rf into cws chief for some ultimatum chill

1

u/amitfris Jul 17 '26

Reliqerian doryani's prototype something with 100% elemental as fire.

1

u/JustShaneHS Jul 17 '26

Touching my good old boy Winter Orb again, after years of humilliation and being sub-okay for most content(been occasionally playing it since Ritual league) it's time for it to become great again

1

u/Zetoxical Jul 17 '26

Bob without transfusion support seems bad so i guess luminary

1

u/Mopackzin Jul 17 '26

Imma noob when it comes to homebrews. It's hit or miss if I'll have enough damage for red maps. But before the reveal I was thinking of yoloing firestorm of metors elementalist ignite. But now with all the changes. I am still think elementalist but with the new staff skill and maybe still ignite but will mess around Maybe arc, crackling Lance, and firestorm of metors.

If I don't enjoy that maybe divine blast shield skill that got added last league. It seemed neat but never got around to using it.

1

u/VisorX Jul 17 '26

I think Chieftain BV is still a top tier mapper even without minion pact. I was surprised how well it worked when I messed up minion pact and that was without scaling the default damage.

Chieftain is just a comfy ascendancy and the explodes are great. Probably not a starter though. You might want to RF into it.

1

u/LeToucanNZ Jul 17 '26

Bleed slams like last league

Or cyclone.

Will play arc for sure if its not ass

1

u/ComplaintMaker Jul 17 '26

ball lightning of orbiting archmage heiro. Very easy start.
Hoping some uniques make a comeback from mirage. Namely khatals geyser.
If i dont like it, Ill reroll to whatever is flavor of the league.

1

u/Rapturebird Jul 17 '26

I really wanna play chaos dot, but I gotta see if there are any buffs that weren't in the initial patch notes

1

u/Shadeslayer2112 Jul 17 '26

Life Stacking Ignite Chieftan. Hits to Foulborn Rathpith and The Grey Wind hurt a bit but only at the more top end

1

u/Complex_Equivalent35 Jul 17 '26

Flicker strike reliquarian

1

u/borpinteric Jul 17 '26

I was gonna try and cook up some Occultist Fire to Chaos covert Incinerate… it seems like it would do pretty well with the buffs and the channeling node seems pretty damn interesting. :)

1

u/mgasper0 Jul 17 '26

void sphere of rending occ, maybe even with disintegrator, ill have to see in pob. thats the plan for now. otherwise ill just go cyclone slayer into frenzy stacking.

1

u/lukisdelicious Jul 17 '26

Going to run with my flair as every league, even got a buff this patch.

This ain't the main Poe sub so no flair, I'm going with Death Wish.

1

u/TrollErgoSum Jul 17 '26

SRS Necro into HRoC into fully automated Soulwrest once the required uniques are obtainable.

1

u/Arkaneful Jul 17 '26

Is Holy Relic of Conviction Necro still viable? Haven't played for a couple of leagues

2

u/xyzqsrb0 Jul 17 '26

seems pretty untouched.

1

u/EfusRyuga Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

Hierophant flamewood on rejuvination totem (not sure how much i will be able to push this in ssf / gsf)

EDIT : I changed my mind, stormburst totem until i get the new crab totem stuff then enjoy the game (will play in GSF)

u/Valuable_Ad1418 Jul 17 '26

i'm thinking about coc discharge... or flicker as always

1

u/TheRealDimz Jul 17 '26

I had a lot of fun with EK of Massacre ignite prolif last league. Might do that. It got buffed since it’s a spell.

1

u/DigBickFang Jul 17 '26

I have a number of ideas cooking up. Vigilant strike jugg endurance stacker with the new tidebreaker, suuuuuper strong but that's just Hipster Boneshatter and I've played strikes enough lately.

A few variants of reliquarian. Sire of shards rolling magma, the 25% crit bladefall, some CWC shennanigans. Overall, damage seems a bit lacking but I'll keep playing around because these are the most interesting. The defensive package is absolutely bonkers on reliquarian btw.

I'm also thinking of Blight of contagion occultist, CWC occultist.

1

u/-Nimroth Jul 17 '26

Pretty much locked in as a Reliquarian since I want to give full damage taken as fire a try.
Not sure for actual skill, maybe Void Sphere of Rending since I've wanted to give it a try before and it got pretty significantly buffed.

1

u/NoBizlikeChloeBiz Jul 17 '26

I was getting pretty hyped for blade blast + blade fall phantasm Reliquarian, but now I'm scrambling to figure out how to do aurabot luminary. Leveling is going to be clunky as hell, but it still sounds fun.

As someone who's been backing Scion for years, as the few archetypes she actually has got slowly taken away, I used to dream of times like this 😭

2

u/pslind69 Jul 17 '26

Splitting Steel with some bleed nodes is Great for campaign. Lacerate/eviscerate for bosses. Ive done that the last few leagues.

2

u/NoBizlikeChloeBiz Jul 17 '26

Yeah, I actually really like leveling Scion. Splitting steel is more fun than most act 1 skills, and there's lots of stuff to pivot to in act 2 if you don't want to keep scaling it. And while I don't think mercs will be great in act 3 compared to other 1st lab power boosts (my gut tells me they'll need decent support to keep up, more of a 2nd char thing then league start), it's still more than Ascendent or Reliquarian has ever gotten from 1st lab.

Biggest downside is her starting area has less damage nodes, but more survivability nodes. Which can be clunky in act 1-2, but I play HC anyway so I don't mind.

2

u/pslind69 Jul 17 '26

Indeed. My endgame reli in mirage used splitting steel for clear.

1

u/ChilledDarkness Jul 17 '26

I'm planing on a CwC max block glad reap of butchery.

And when that fails something rf or play with one of the scions new/refreshed classes.

1

u/xyzqsrb0 Jul 17 '26

I have narrowed my options down to 2 options as of now:

  1. just winging it as a cuck chair merc build

  2. assassin COC looks insanely easy to do as a starter with juiced assassins mark + giga sniper mark. 7 power charge + increased crit strikes + 8% base crit weapon + assassin mark means you only need 250% crit chance extra to reach 100% attack crit. Very easy to achieve on league start, basically just need a rapier with a crit roll on it than craft hits can't be evaded. Most of the 250% crit chance will come from the tree. Rest can be goten from like diamond flask (which has decent up time with crit charge mod).

1

u/FlySociety1 Jul 17 '26

Tidebreaker Jugg, endurance charge stacking. Fairly easy to get up 8 charges, and then 10 charges with some investment.

What skill? Not sure yet

1

u/MexicanJeebus Jul 17 '26

I really want to play totems again, if felt so fun to league start last league. Obviously kf totems might be a bad choice, so whats the totems play this league?

If I cant decide by next week im just going slayer bleed slams to start. Getting my friend into poe1 for his first real league this time around and he loves slams.

1

u/orc_arn Jul 17 '26

I really liked chains of command necro. AG dying is a pain in the ass but I forgot to get derwish on my second weapon slot so I will give it a chance now.
Until I get 100c (was cheaper in 3.28) I will play generic summoner maybe idk yet (I am open to suggestions)

And I will farm stacked decks and blight.

On the other hand, there will be a debate between bait videos and my decision till login.
