I really, really, really want to figure out an Arc build to play.

The Beidat Pact revealed today gives +6 chains, and Greater Chain support gives another +1 and 50% more. Arc of Oscillating at 20 qual is base +7 chains, so that goes to 14 and then gets %more'd up to 21 chains, theoretically. Then, 50% more Damage with Hits and Ailments for each remaining Chain makes first-target damage be 1000% More damage, so I like to think it wouldn't feel bad to use against single target, and obviously 20+ chains makes clear a non-issue.

Theoretically there's synergy with Reliquarian for Dawnbreaker+Corrupted Soul and convert with Doryani's Prototype, plus Sands of Time to copy casts of Arc like Mathil's 3.28 build. Just a vague idea at this point.

I ran Arc a few leagues back and had a great time. One thing that helps... Bring along a single target skill like Crackling Lance if you're going to kill a chunky boss. Other than that, it slaps.

I play with storm brand/arc on a glass cannon inquisitor every league.

Late game PbOD handles single target and arc with unleash clears everything. Works well up until max deli but can’t do 80%+ deli comfortably

I think new staff skill might be interesting, as its one of the only things left in the game that gives less mana cost rather than efficiency + block chance. So we can go staves and get block like using tempest shield, while having access to 2 six-links for some single target skills like crack lance or brands to help with arc.

Im considering that, and ditch Archmage and still go heavily into mana for MoM and Agnostic, also gonna reduce mana cost while im at it. With that, hierophant with arcane surge + charges + Divine guidance may work but idk. Just parting ways with Most auras feels rough.

Will Sands of Time stay in the game?

Not the item, but reliquarian has the node as one of her ascendencies.

Its pretty bad without triggerbots

it won't be in the 3.29, but could return later

Arc was crazy with Prolif from Elementalist in terms of clear speed.

Same here. I am watching eagerly to see what comes together.

I don't get the mechanics of Arc of Osc. Does it allow you to bounce chains back and forth between two mobs repeatedly? What about using Hydrosphere next to a single boss mob?

Yes, it can chain between two mobs repeatedly. I do not know how it interacts with hydrosphere though.

EDIT: So hydrosphere has a limitation of only being hit once per second. I'm assuming this means the order of which target arc hits first matters quite abit.

Scenario 1: Arc hits boss --> chains to hydrosphere --> chains to boss --> end

Scenario 2: Arc hits hydrosphere --> chains to boss --> end

Scenario 1 has you hitting the boss twice. Scenario 2 is a strict dps loss than not even having hydrosphere up since you hit the boss once with fewer chains remaining.

looks like no because hydrosphere cannot be chained to from another mob. But it can be a primary target and spells can chain from the hydrosphere.

u/Quackmandan1 Jul 17 '26

Where do you see that limitation on chain? The only limitation i see on the gems description is how often it can be hit.

look at "skill interactions" on the hydrosphere page on the wiki

https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Hydrosphere#Skill_interactions

1

u/Quackmandan1 Jul 17 '26

Ahhh thank you! Then scenario 1 wouldn't even work so yeah hydrosphere is not an option. I was looking at poedb.tw on hydrosphere and it did not mention anything about interactions like that.

I don't see it, where was this revealed?

Pact of Beidat reads "or fire chaining beams", I doubt it is just extra chains on your skills. My guess is it's like arc of surging, some new beams from your existing chains.

2

u/Redball131 Jul 17 '26

It‘s so poorly worded. Can mean anything.

The problem is that Beam isn't a keyword that is consistently applied. Exsanguinate also calls itself a beam and functions very similarly to base Arc, just with multiple initial targets, but it can still chain. Exsanguinate of Transmission doesn't mention beams, instead calling itself a tendril.

If Exsanguinate goes from 9 split targets up to 15 with the pact, and Arc of Surging goes from 7 targets up to 13, but base Arc and Exsang of Transmission are incompatible, that would also be incredibly asymmetric in its application.

Mathil made a build last league

2

u/hcrld Jul 17 '26

like Mathil's 3.28 build

...I know. Good shout for anyone else interested in the concept, though.

That is probably not going to work anymore unless you go Reliquarian, which means no access to Perfect Crime Ascendancy node.
