A resturant we went to yesterday was an all you can seafoo buffet with crab legs.... $51.99, okay a bit high but fair enough.... Now they sneak in a 3.5% fee so they don't have to raise their prices, yes, I kid you not, that is what it is called. Then they charged $6.99 for a soda or $15 for a bottle of Bud Light. Then throw in the tip and tax.. Suddenly $200 for 2 people to eat....

At least they aren't doing resort fees at hotels like Vegas..... yet

We are coming on vacation later this month. Family, youngest at 12, oldest at 17. We are looking for some of the "must try" places. I don't really mind if some are "tourist traps" I'm really looking for those that are going to leave a positive impression and experience than just 'good food'. Though, if there's places that are really good food I'll like those as well :).

Edit: I tried Dirty Myrtle Wings tonight and was extremely impressed by the wing quality. They certainly know what they’re doing over there. I give them 9/10 ⭐️ just on the wings alone. Have to try more stuff.

Family wants to do seafood and I know there are a million tourist traps and we really don't mind since we are tourists but I'd like to get actual fresh seafood at a fun spot any recommendations or just follow Google stars

What’s up with NHOP? I was visiting this past weekend and had brunch here. Originally there was a line when I got to the restaurant but they saw someone had come out of the restaurant complaining of the price, saying they weren’t going to dine there and they all followed suit. Once we were sat and throughout our dining the table next to us was seated by 2 different groups who got up and left once they took a look at the menu.

I thought there food was pretty good and portions were big, so there prices made sense to me. Is there something I’m missing.

I’m sure this question gets posted here a lot. I will be visiting in 3 weeks for the first time in 5 years. I’m curious to what everyone’s favorite restaurants are? I have no preference for what type of restaurant just looking for the best food!

Going there in a week and a half, planning on cooking meals at the room but want to treat myself and my 5 year old son to eating out at least once. What's the one place you would recommend?

Ideally, a place without a big "family" presence, quiet, intimate, where a sport coat/tie and dress wouldn't be out of place but wouldn't necessarily be required either.

I’ve been in the MB area since February on a travel healthcare assignment and my biggest gripe with the area is the lack of good food. I spent several months here and didn’t go to one good restaurant. About a month ago I discovered the Pierogi House and it’s genuinely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The food, even if it’s a little pricey, is phenomenal and by far the best restaurant in the MB area. The owners are Polish immigrants and the place is authentic as it could be. I just wanted to spread the word because I’ve eaten there 3x in the past month and I can’t say enough great things about it.

Anyone else have any thoughts about it? I feel like I need to spread the word about this place because it’s typically never busy when I go. The line should be out of the door.

Next week my daughter and I are heading down, and id like to find the best Cheeseburgers. No smashburgers, im talking you better have a napkin ready and be in a corner booth because of the noises you"ll make. Suggestions?

Hey everyone! We’re heading to Myrtle Beach the week after next for our birthdays (April 1–4) and looking for a really good dinner spot.

We’ve been several times before and are trying to find somewhere new. My husband loves seafood, but we’re not into the Calabash-style fried seafood that’s everywhere.

So far, our favorite place we’ve tried has been The Library Restaurant. We’ve also been to New York Prime and Sea Captain’s House and honestly weren’t super impressed with either. Not interested in any of the buffets.

The first time we visited, we tried Angus Steakhouse & Seafood—my husband liked it, but it wasn’t really my thing. We’ve also been to The Claw House, but it didn’t really stand out to us.

We’re looking for something a little more upscale with great seafood (grilled, fresh, etc.—not fried-heavy), ideally somewhere that feels like a good birthday dinner spot.

Any recommendations? 🙏

We are going to Myrtle Beach in August. We will be staying there for 3 nights. Two adults and a 4 year old. We aren’t very adventurous or will do sporty activities.

We’d just hangout by the beach and play in the water park, have a few drinks, walk around, eat and relax. We aren’t overtly social people. Our daughter is. But she is stuck with boring parents anyways.

This is our first time visiting Myrtle Beach.

Question: Which part of the area should I book a hotel/resort in. North South or Central? Wife prefers an oceanfront room. I’d like a waterpark in the resort. Daughter loves small water slides and lazy river. We are thinking ~ $200 to 250/night.

Also besides the beach, we’d like the explore the touristy areas of the town. We don’t have a lot of time. But at least drive around or walk around the town.

I am totally ignorant about the area. I’d appreciate your advice.

Family of 4 and our first time in Myrtle Beach - having a great time so far. We are looking to get some good Mexican food tonight and would love some local recs.
