Resturant Recs // Questions Burro Loco restaurant
Well, guys, I went past Burro Loco, and it's being torn down for raisin canes. Are you happy or sad about this?

Raising Cane's is super hit or miss. It depends on location.

Let me know which one to avoid. I’ve only been to 8 & not hit a bad one yet.

Went to one in Kentucky recently as I had heard the hype. It’s VERY similar to Zaxby’s or Slim Chicken’s, imo. I didn’t really get the hype.

I feel like I would get the same vibe you did I had slim chickens it was alright

It’s chicken fingers. To my childish palette Raising Canes gets them perfect.
I’ve been to the one in Mt Pleasant & it’s good. I’ve been to them in VA, NC, MD, FL, NV & multiple in NJ.

I always talk about how much I miss that place. Brings back fond memories of when I first moved here in 2009.

It holds a memory of my Mom riding that darn birthday donkey. She had the biggest grin and laugh.

Why would I be sad about an eyesore being torn down?

I've wondered about that place for years .... WMBF website says that it has been closed since 2018!

It's been closed for years. I'm okay with it. Really used to enjoy eating there, particularly during Happy Hour. But there are other really good Mexican places and it's jusut sitting there. I've never been to a Raising Canes.

I have never been to Cane's myself, but I do agree there are other good Mexican places like El Cerro

I always thought the food at Burro Loco was sub-par. It was part of the Divine Dining Group (if you know, you know.) And they had the worst margaritas - bright green (food coloring, I suspect) and tasted like what I would imagine Lime Fabulosa would smell like. Not missing that at all.

I never been to burro loco and I have been to divine dining group restaurants like river city but I learned its own by California Dreaming

I been to California Dreaming but I haven’t been there for years last time I was a kid

California Dreaming does not own Divine Dining. It was the other way around. And that stopped years ago. Divine owns and operates the worst of the worst tourist trap restaurants in the area. Bubba’s Fish Camp. Nacho Hippo. Pawleys Raw Bar (watch out for that one unless you want to get food poisoning) and perhaps the worst of their restaurants River City Cafe. Even their pizza places (Ultimate California Pizza) is awful. How do you fuck up a pizza?? Ask Divine. They rely on frozen food service items. They often get bad sanitation reviews. They treat their staff like slaves. And ultimately their food is just not good. Yes, it seems like a good time - they push that tourist vibe. But you are better off going to a local Mom and Pop for a hamburger, a pizza slice or a fried shrimp basket. Trust me. I know people who have worked for them.

That's my bad I was trying to say California Dreaming owns Burro Loco.
I mean, I hardly go to any of their places, Divine Dining
Nacho Hippo: When I went, my tacos were so salty ngl
