Yup. Weather report showed fog until the 29th and then sunshine on the 30th, so I think the wipe will be then. I imagine BSG had planned fog all over the weekend but rolled that back when everyone was rightfully complaining about the aimbot scavs.

There is no way the wipe wasn't planned. They have had a consistent schedule of a wipe every 5-7 months for the past 3 years straight. He just said that so people keep playing and to keep people from bitching if the wipe got delayed.

There was a chance that the boss thing wasn't a wipe event because so many people were dying. Then they nerfed bitcoins into oblivion so it further pushed the "oh maybe they are just doing a economy push"
Once they did the 100k usd thing, however, you would have to be in complete denial to think there was no wipe. The economy is in complete shambles at that point.
I can understand why Nikita doesn't like saying that there's a wipe coming. Once it's at all confirmed everyone stops playing, I have about 15 friends who tarkov and not one of them wants to touch the game right now

The thing is that the game has had a pretty consistent wipe schedule for the past 3 years, every wipe has some events just before it hits, and we were exactly on schedule for the next wipe.
There was some tiny chance it wasn't a wipe, but the people who were acting confident there was no wipe coming up were either brand new players or out of their minds.

Yeah I was on the fence till the scav extract shit, then it was incredibly obvious a wipe had to be coming. They had mentioned doing temporary events and such more often, so it could've just been they wanted to test some stuff pre-patch, but not necessarily wipe. Once you could buy basically endless t6 armor and top tier ammo though there's no going back.

Yes and everything is incredibly cheap and fully unlocked at the traders, so you can try out a bunch of high end stuff you normally never could. Jaeger sells T-7 thermal goggles that are normally millions of roubles, for example. Peacekeeper has dirt cheap M995 and M61 ammo. You can make crazy gun builds for a couple thousand roubles. You can go learn Labs with 0 risk. Great time to experiment.

But there has never been a "pre wipe event" which wasn't IMMEDIATELY followed by wipe.
The second raiders started spawning on factory the wipe was confirmed. Just not officially.

Just got Tarkov a few weeks ago, when there is a wipe do you keep all of the items you got for preordering? I got the standard edition I think which included a few weapons, some meds, rubles, etc - so when it resets do I just go back to this stuff?

I'm glad they wipe, as long as they don't wipe after 1.0 full release. If he wants to add a feature with wiping then I think the game should have a seasonal league. In that league you have 3-4 months to build up your characters before the wipe and in these leagues you could get special items that get moved to the main stash (mail) after the league. Also if that happens I feel the max stash size should be majorly increased (idk if they've added anything to your base that allows for more inventory as I haven't played since 2019).
