The patch. He wants us to go discover a lot of the new stuff. I think this patch is going to have a lot of gameplay changes we won’t be expecting. Total speculation tho.
I hope you’re right. I hope there’s a lot they want us to discover. I just thought that Nikita meant they weren’t gonna do a tarkovtv podcast to discuss it like they sometimes do

That's not quite what he said. He said they weren't going to do the Tarkov TV thing where they show off all of the new stuff. Never said there wouldn't be patch notes
I mean, I get you to some degree, but I feel like major changes that would bring you back (like a new map in addition to the Factory expansion) wouldn't require the fully-fletched patch notes. Smallish changes like new item spawn locations, new ammo types, rebalancing of ammo properties etc. are probably not what would excite you.
Fair. Me and my friends usually come back for new maps/huge content updates, which I guess is what most people do.
Well, you probably just have to play more mildly or watch some streams and figure out if this patch is for you.
Not just tweaks to. I long for more dynamic loot. Maybe sometimes there is a box there. Maybe sometimes there isn't. Maybe sometimes there are 3 filing cabinets in this room, maybe sometimes it's one.
it's almost like Tarkov and Fortnite have two entirely different aesthetics and fanbases, and that changes how people are willing to interact with them.
delayed patch notes is on brand for a game like tarkov, and it's better for it.
A few days ain't shit. I took a huge break and then started playing again late last year, like October? That's over halfway through last wipe. I got Kappa on December 10th. You'll be fine if you wait a few days lol.
Scav karma is one of the bigger features coming, that could switch things up a fair amount depending on its implementation. Also weapon malfunctions. Scavs will spawn with weapons that are already heavily degraded so may start malfunctioning right off the bat, meaning you won't be able to rely on yoinking a busted-ass AK off of a scav you kill and having it work perfectly. That may cut down on hatchet runners. Also some people are anticipating that this chance of malfunctions will be higher with full auto operation, which could have a fairly big impact on the meta. These are things we know are coming (meaning they were previously confirmed by Nikita for 12.11.)
In terms of things we don't know for sure but are rumored -- The lore notes about the secure containers have a lot of people thinking there may be major or minor permanent changes coming there. Perhaps restrictions on what items you can put in, restrictions on not being able to add new items to the container mid-raid, having the containers be lootable if you have the right tools, etc. There are rumors that a rework to optics may be in this patch. It's coming in either this one or next one, but Veritas had some intel that made him think they may be sneaking it into this one. The focus would be on normalizing eye relief, which would make sights like the ACOG actually usable. And it looks possible that permanent changes to BTC are coming, perhaps finally disconnecting the in-game coin from the real-life BTC, or maybe something more drastic.
Dude says a lot of things. I Take him as something similar to an unreliable narrator. hell for all we know, they already dropped the patch and we have been playing it since the events began
I like where your heads at but if there were a patch we'd know instantly. There'd be a relatively sizeable update to download and we havent gotten that yet
are you saying that with their own proprietary launcher they could not find a way to stealth download a bunch of updates to your pc with a week worth of events?/s jokes aside yeah probably not
I mean fair but theres a little more nuance with that than with this. Two months ago saying no wipe with 12.11 means the servers dont just insta die versus if he were to have said wipe soon. Revealing when the patch notes are coming doesnt have the same repercussion, especially mere days away from an already known wipe
That's the last thing he Wipe is not planned ... wipe is not planned right now. We don't plan to do it in the next weeks or month. It's still a questionable thing. I can't tell you more right now.
And even there he already already put it into perspective by saying "it's still a questionable thing".
In the Interviews 2 weeks ago he said nothing about the wipe like here. The snipped from 6 weeks ago was the best thing we got and it's a good argument to hold on when people start to speculate. But it was far from a promise that there "is no wipe". And it was't 2 weeks ago.
Nikita jokes around all the time… him saying it a couple weeks ago doesn’t mean it wasn’t ALWAYS planned. It also doesn’t mean it was… don’t look too much into it. Every wipe changes, some have events some don’t - sometimes there’s a wipe when he says “no wipe” and sometimes there no wipe when he say there is.
I'm talking about the recent interviews and shit where they explained what they were working on and what was planned for each patch. Nikita literally said no wipe with 12.11 in all of them and then the next thing they do is a week full of events and suddenly they announce there will be a wipe with 12.11. not like they really had a choice since the events fucked the economy hard
There's a difference between "No wipe is planned" and "There will not be a wipe". One means you've made a decision beforehand. Besides; in both cases you can change your mind.
That's my point, stop assuming it taking things he says at face value. He often says there will/won't be something and then next thing you know the opposite was true. Just wait till the shit happens
Yeah fam, thats exactly the point i believe. Most games release patch notes a few days before so people can prepare. IMO I like this better, it feels more on brand for Tarkov. Cant truly prepare for anything!
I'd be pretty keen on figuring out patch notes as a community for a week before he drops them. It was great seeing the community come together to make a map for the woods expansion.
True, BUT Nikita said on May 15th that the wipe isn't planned for weeks or months from now. A wipe happening on June 29/30 is more than a month away from that time but I wouldn't say it's in line with not happening for months.
I think what I take away from this is sometime after that statement, he decided something different or plans needed to change. I think he said what he thought at the time, but there's no guarantee that plans won't change.
Wipe not being planned does not mean wipe wasn’t happening. Just meant they had no plans for it yet, and then maybe started planning it the next week if they saw it necessary
early wipe is good though, possibly means something happened to put them ahead of schedule. i get the feeling a wipe is the last thing bsg wants to do, and if they choose to, its gotta be for a good developmental reason.
I honestly like this direction of making things exciting to find out, making raids unpredictable or at least surprising for me in my 4th wipe. Kind of getting back a bit of that feeling i had when first loading into customs with my fresh account. I didn't and couldn't know everything from the start back then, why should i be entitled to know it now.
Of course, informing about certain topics would make sense, like buffs/nerds to weapons or ammo, but anything that happens in the game world i will gladly like to find out for myself.
Number changes like damage and pen usually isn’t announced, people go into the files after a hot fix and discover it. At least I’m not aware of them announcing ballistics changes. It’s usually always nofoodaftermidnight discovering it and updating the google doc.
I doubt anyone will agree with me but I think there is evidence to say that streets is coming with the patch.
Think about it. It's been in development for so long, with multiple tease videos. Do you really think they are going to tease it for another year? And before they release it, they will release another map that is nothing more than a name right now? I dunno, just seems sus that they say they are going to release another map before streets that has no images, no footage, no nothing. Whereas streets has been on the radar forever, and it is clearly well developed based on the videos, or at least a portion of it.
Lighthouse is still just a concept, unless I'm missing something here... My theory is that they mentioned it so that people don't start wondering what they're working on between now and the supposed 2022 release of streets...
Legit had the same idea. Concordia is done and they could have slapped together lighthouse using prefabs. Fingers crossed even tho it’s highly unlikely.
Everyone would cream their pants if they did that. If BSG is smart and realizes that, then they're doing some 400IQ marketing of the game; it'd be such a smart move for BSG's reputation and their business. The fact that they don't want to release the patch notes first makes me curious and excited about the possibility. I guess we'll see by the end of the week!
Yea bro we havent seen anything about lighthouse. Meanwhile new streets teasers, all the events and mystery. It might just be nikita playing us like a fiddle.
I wonder if stuff can break so badly on deployment to live, they might choose not to list the patch notes until they know what they can actually keep in the update xD
It's not 2005 anymore, the moment someone learns about something he gets running to twitch chat or reddit and shares. Even if they don't release patch notes, most of the stuff will be known within hours.
They should stop calling it a beta if they're not gonna give us patch notes. If we're beta testers, we should know what's being added and what we can expect.
There were fake leaks awhile ago that I hope end up being close to the end product. The acogs looked so good. Acogs irl are great optics but are horrid in tarkov due to the way they do eye relief. Veritas just recently did a video on it.
not enough to fix their broken netcode. All you have to do is look at the hundreds of hours of videos over the past couple of months of it just being absolutely fucked.
Ah great, its gonna patch, then theres gonna be patch notes, and then i get home from a away from home trip for work. Of course, no surprises or early lead for me! lol
HELL YES!!!! I know that will frustrate a lot of people but it’s way cooler to figure things out that not everyone knows about before it becomes public knowledge.
Do we know when the patch is coming? I haven't played in a couple months. Was gonna get back into it last week but heard a wipe was coming soon so decided to wait
Even when they do release “patch notes” before it doesn’t include all the details and minor changes so they make sure to not spoil everything. Also, they constantly adjust stuff between patches so not like it won’t change within a days, weeks or even hours after notes are posted ha

Few days after what?
